You’re playing with fire m8…

Well, just found out that my medication has been more or less a placebo (which is good). Meaning that all that cash spent on it was meaningless (which is bad).

Well, depends if jump “scares” actually scare you or not.

Looks like a vehicle designed by the people who made Carmageddon.

Oh, how many times I’ve heared that Feindflug is run by nazi’s…

If you play FNAF for more then 1 hour the jumpscares becomes an annoyans instead of being scary.
And if youre like me immune to most jumpscares they become an annoyans after having them once.

Jump scares tend to only scare the inexperienced, young or first time players to game.

When you figured out that each door might have a decent chance to do a “BWAAH”, you learn to find them more annoying than scary. Or as a sign that the new attempts at scares is a signal that you’re moving the right way.

And I don’t have to deal with the ■■■■■■■■ L4D A.I. anymore. Found a variation on Last Man On Earth (or something similar named) that removes the bots.

And this is why horror works better when it is build around having a certain atmosphere, like Metro 2033/Last Light did. In recent years atleast.

In FNAF they become an annoyans fast because the games are pretty hard and you just want to get through the levels… and you see them all like 200 times.
The animatronics are well designed though and are themselfs scary, unless youre on of those people…

Horror games needs good atmosphere to be good and jumpscares have there place in horror as long as they are not overused, PT is a pretty good example.
FNAF is a fun game but not really scary (after playing it for a while).
Some of the Vaults in Fallout are pretty scary do to the atmosphere which I love.

Yeah screw that Vault that was pumping hallucinatory gas everywhere. That was terrifying to an 8 year old me.

Or Amnesia: the dark descent.

I forgot about this one, and I even have it in my Steam library.

facepalm

Horror games eh? That whole genre hasn’t ever really done it for me, not my thing I suppose. The problem, for me at least, is that most of them seem to want to try to hard to actively be scary… which in turn makes them somewhat predictable.

Gotta say though, I doubt any game ever will get a bigger full on HOLY [BLEEP]ing [BLEEP] moment out of me than one such epitome of absolute horror…
Minecraft

This occurred quite some time ago, I was messing around on the 360 version near its launch. I was strolling along in a world my friends and myself played on in split-screen, decided to swap out to peaceful and just explore the surface of the world we were on. La, de, da, everything was all fine and dandy and then… without any warning at freaking all

Got hit by lightning… in peaceful mode… having your screen suddenly go stark white out of nowhere accompanied by a loud explosion noise and nearly being one-shotted on peaceful. Did not expect.
