Bah, forgot to play in the latest Evolve test. Vaguely annoyed with myself.
I was really close to BxR, close to RtB.
Damn, that doesnāt happen really often. Itās really strange to me to get that upset.
The damn whore said āare you going to bash and smash everything around us?ā. I was really close.
Well, that little piggy was bothering me since she arrived to the hotel.
I have no idea whatās going on in this post.
From what youāve played, are you digging it? I havenāt looked into EvolvE recommended specs yet, but Iām hoping my Mac can play it (if itās even out for Mac). Iām good with poor graphics, just need reliable framerate. That said, I think it is one of the cooler looking games coming out soon, and I feel good that itās from the L4D crew.
The other game that has really caught my eye is No Manās Sky. That definitely looks too high speed for my laptop, which makes me ponder getting a PS4, which sucks because I donāt have the time or money for a next-fen console, and I would prefer Xbox if I did get one, so I could play with my buddies.
Simply, got in a verbal fight with someone who was harassing me badly since she arrived. I just put things in place.
I was tired of being treated as someone inferior, having she the same job as I do. Wrong place to post it indeed.
Hey, 'Barg. Glad you got here.

BEER!
Needs a cape and pointed ears (been playing lots of Batman Arkham Origins and been doing lots of takedowns from heights way above the enemy)
Good to see you btw
In other news I think MSI Afterburner had a brainfart, it says for a max amount of GPU usage is roughly 4294967298% and all I changed clock wise was the memory clock (itās now +250 so roughly 3251 MHz) but I did change the power management in Nvidia Control Panel to Maximum Performance instead of Adaptive in the Power Management Mode setting.
Edity: Just checked the āGPU#number power, %ā record and it says 45099408 for both of them but the Power Limit % and Core Voltage is still stock amounts. Oh and temps are 80 and 81 C so itās still not too hot really (at least danger zone hot, still a bit hotter than Iād like but itās ok enough I think since online searching says at around 90-95 is when buggy stuff/throttling really starts to happen)
Oh good lord, what IS all of this???
@Pandamonium72 An Elpis invasion?
Anyway, finished TPS for the first time tonight. Looking forward to checking out how the game scales n such.
Just something I noticed⦠Su, I check out Gothalion and Bahroo from time to time, and based of of their and the rest of the āhardcore BL2ā playerbase, people REALLY dislike TPS. Anybody here know why?
I know the games lacks some of the things from BL2ās loot system(namely, boss drops) that should be there in the first place, but it feels like itās more than that. I hear on the BL2ās side of things āamazing game, you have to try it outā, and on TPS āI really did not enjoy playing it.ā.
For two games that share so much, why is the opinion of some as different as it is?
Probably just a lack of refarmable bosses and TPS does seem a bit shorter than 2. Might also be a ātoo much nothingness in between enemy clusters/fightsā but IMO itās not nearly as bad as how theyāre trying to make it seem.
As for Goth and Bahroo, they both grew something of an ego after making their initial and post raid boss BL2 vids and since then it seems they kinda expect Borderlands to be made to their explicit wishes and or designed to challenge them specifically and not by the general fanbase.
My 2 cents and not that youāve done anything wrong, although they did/do make some useful vids on youtube linking to their videos isnāt allowed any more (datamined info which hasnāt been officially released is the most recent reason not to but there have been others I think, Kitty_Jo and or Pyschichazard might be able to give a more definitive list or reason since they have needed to remove such links before)
Well Iām an old fart OGā¦and Iām still a fan of BL 1. But from what Iāve played in BL TPS so far, I like 2 more than TPS. TPS just feels soā¦different.
I think the opinion is that they are both equally enjoyable to playthrough in a traditional āplay through, do everything once, beat the gameā kinda way. But TPS falls apart since theres no reason to keep playing since they ruined farming from Bl2 (which ruined farming from Bl1).
And people are upset because 90% of the guns are copy-pasted and the Holodome DLC made the Underdome look like Knoxx or TTAoDK.
And its going to get even more hate now, because people were duped into paying up to $90 (which included a very vauge season pass description) to play it on old consoles, when 5 months later it would be on new consoles for $60 with a free Bl2: Remastered included. When GBX said over and over that it wasnt coming to Next-Gen.
For the record, Iāve only played TPS at a friends house, Iāve beaten the pt1 and I enjoyed it, but I can understand why people are upset with the game.
@Lips Iām sort of ambivalent to be honest, I loved the concept back at launch so I participated in the alpha, but⦠The arenas are relatively small, pacing is both fast and monotonous, and control feels awkward. Originally I figured on something closer to the WC3 map of the same name, but on a practical scale most matches tend to proceed in a near identical manner. Which mostly brings the focus back to the awkward control, particularly of abilities like leap. It really feels like a single alternate game mode of an FPS. Itās not bad precisely, as I find it fun, but play is not particularly smooth or well designed. Best I can suggest is signing up to try it, although weāre nearing launch.
Could it be the gravity change and or introduction of lasers and elimination of E-Tech?
I could see how those would make it feel different but not necessarily in a bad way.
Edity: Could be that Jack isnāt at first the villain we all love to hate?
Nah, itās none of those (well kinda, the zero-g throws me off a ton). But just the overall feel of the game. The whole space-y thing is just off-putting to me. The reason I liked BL 1 was because of the whole Mad Max feeling. I liked BL 2 even less, because it strayed away from that even more, and the TPS is just a whole different creature to me.
I really liked it when the characters were more treasure hunters than these heavy characters with tons of story.
Well, thatās wrong. More like, I liked that everything was just desolate. Barren. And there was promise of loot, and everything and anything wanted to kill you just because.
Thats exactly how I feel about the Borderlands seriers.
It seems to get further and further away from its roots with each iteration.
Anyone want to make a new Loot-Based FPS with Mad Max style asthetic and a proper procedurly generated weapon system, EG 5 bodys, 5 barrels, 5 grips, 5 stocks, 5 sights, load of accesories and prefixs/titles. Iāve got pages of random doodles of this kind of stuff.
If the game is succesful we can pay the legal fees when GBX sues us!
This this all this!
I loved the feeling of being the only thing for miles with any sort of purpose. It wasnāt a big purpose, but face it, with everyone else being bloodthirsty bandits and crazy village people, this promise of loot made you feel something. And I felt that gave me a right to downright murder anything that was getting in the way of my dreams (Unforgiven Mashers and Penetrators). And when I found that thing? And if it was all wrong (Unforgiven with a 6 shot mag, or a Penetrator with crappy everything), it gave me MORE reason to shoot things.
I donāt care if I need to kill a giant crawfish thing, itās going to die, and I am going to get that loot.
