The only reason to buy it, dat options.

I’m actually not sure, the release date says the 28th, but it’s 11 PM on the 27th here. On the level we’re discussing we should probably just consider it out.

I liked the first one better than you did, but yeah… Damn.

I like the first one too it’s a classic, the last one was below average though.

I’m still going to buy the new one on a sale because I mostly liked the collection part of the last game… also the benchmark tool

Um, do I need to know anything about the other RTT thread?

For people from another forum basically. That private server really did eat you alive apparently.

Yeah it’s been pretty brutal. Last few weeks of my life usually involve this-

Start wow.

Usually that third part would be ā€œstart steamā€, which is why you haven’t seen me on there. I have I missed anything else?

In frozen times like this, I remember the guy who brought out a flamethrower to melt out the ice in his driveway. Too bad that’s super illegal most of the time.

What a badass. I want a flamethrower now.

I also wish it snowed here! Have never touched snow. D:

We had knee deep snow a few days ago… it’s all gone now, ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  spring time is a bit early

Goes a little something like this; a real spectacle and natural beauty to see if you only get it once or twice a year. Eventually though, it all piles up and blocks driveways, sidewalks, roads and other things which means yu gotta get rid of it and it becomes a huge chore.

Also the next best thing to a flamethrower is salt, which if you don’t remember the ice-salt challenge, burns like hell if you touch the combo without any protection. My dog last year had his skin basically burnt off in the leg area after a few days of being near it. I had a picture somewhere.

Our just froze over and became immovable or basically invincible to anything that isn’t gonna make it melt. This could take a week before it goes away. Any snow that wasn’t cleared before is basically a giant ā€˜no parking for you’ icy middle finger.

Poor doggy. D:

But yeah, salting an area keeps it from freezing IIRC. I’d like to experience snow before I die but I doubt that’s going to happen lol.

@MidnightNova, gonna pull you in here so we don’t have to derail that other thread.

I’ve been noticing a lot of Bethesda hate lately and it surprises me. I’ve even heard people lump them into the same mold as EA, Ubisoft, Capcom, and Activision. Maybe I’m out of the loop, but what exactly is wrong with them now? Seems like they publish great games and the ones that they develop are great.

Eh.

Hate is a strong word, I don’t hate them. I jsut don’t like how they handle the Fallout franshise.
They went from making a RPG set in first/third person, to a FPS with RPG mechanics.
I’d rather have Obsidian handle it.

On TES I cant comment; I dont like Oblivion, or anything pre-Morrowind but I’m not holding it against them. Hell, I enjoyed my stay in Skyrim. Dispite the bad writing and flat NPCs I became incredibly attached to my own character, and the world they created.

See, it’s funny you say that because how you described feeling about the Fallout series is how I feel about Skyrim. Actually pretty shocked that you like it given the way they compare.

The early days of TES had that classic and pure role-playing feel with all of the perks and gadgets that come along with it. Skyrim, on the other hand, was simplified to the point that it didn’t even feel like an Elder Scroll anymore. It’s like a big hack and slash, cinematic movie that’s the product of marketing, graphics and cliche mainstream appeal. Dragons, warewolves, and magic. Talk about a redundant concept.

But as for the Bethesda thing again, you’re not the only one I’ve heard say stuff like that. So they must be going downhill in other areas I’m not aware of.

Skyrim isn’t perfect. I found werewolves and vampires incredibly immersion breaking.
Skill trees were boring, and in the case of lockpicking unnescecary to spend points on.

And yet, I poured 110 hours into because I personally liked the dragon aspect of things alot, shouts, etc, the whole thing.
But, I cant return to the game other than my first character. i have a second one, a Khajiit, but the game just lost all my interest because it had nothing new to offer from what I already did.

Yes, Ican see why people wont like Skyrim, and I completely understand it. But I liked it for what it was. (kinda funny though that FO4 does the complete opposite for me…).

Though Skyrim didn’t really butcher the roleplaying aspect of RPG’s, unlike FO4. Which is kind of a dealbreaker in such case.

I guess I’ll have to see for myself when I get around to trying it. I don’t expect much out of F4, but I’m desperately clinging to the thought that maybe, just maybe I’ll actually like a sequel more than its predecessor(s). Yeah, I highly doubt it…

CoD? Nope.
Mass Effect? Negative.
Borderlands? Hell no.
Halo? Not a chance.
Far Cry? No.
TES? Nadda.
BioShock? Nein.
Fable? Naw.

I’ve run out of ways to say no so I’ll leave it at that.

In the case of New Vegas. Obsidian spoiled me with their amazing writing. After I’m done with NV I’ll be playing Fo1 and 2.

Since I’m literally playing FO4 right now, I might as well throw in my two cents on the matter. My experience with Bethesda/Fallout/TES is a playthrough and a half of Skyrim, me really wanting to play Morrowind and NV(but haven’t yet cause I don’t feel like modding at the moment), and about halfway through FO3. I’ve also heard tons of my roommates loving Morrowind/NVegas to death.

Anyway, FO4. It’s really comparable to FO3 in many aspects, just overall smoother in systems. Things is, it’s a tradeoff with the level you can roleplay. Speech system is lackluster, and your characters will always have some portions of their backstory already set. RP just feels kinda weak. The way they handled settlements/crafting is pretty satisfying. If you’re into it it’ll probably be a good time, and if you’re not you don’t need to touch it.

I preferred F3 over NV. I feel like I’ll still be happy with F4 based on everything I’ve read, though. I’ll share my thoughts on it once I have some game time under my belt. Most likely gonna hold out on that one 'til I get my new PC as well.
