It’s always very nice to meet the people from here who play on Steam.
(Nothing against consoles, I just don’t have one.)

btw, I’m the same name on Steam, with a pic of my Drag bike.
(World record holder, built by hand.)

I’ve been meeting people (and getting my ass handed to me by them) from the Battleborn Discord, but have yet to meet anyone from the forums. The few people from the forums I have played with are on my team so that doesn’t really count.

You certainly did give us a hard time!

But plz, we weren’t pub stomping

I reckon the other teams made up of randoms and newbies would feel like they were being stomped either way when they see they are up against a premade (especially all level 100s). You can go in with the full intention of wanting a fair match, but a premade is always going to have an advantage against randoms. Simply being a 5-player premade is enough to scare off some people and once a team is down a player (or several) they are going to have a hard time. :sunglasses:

Everyone should be playing in a premade though, the game (especially PvP) is way, way better that way!

More premades = Less unintentional pub stomping = Fun times

Btw my understanding of “pub stomping” is simply the fact that it is a premade against randoms where a game ends up being one-sided. Intentionally going into public matchmaking with the goal to wreck other players is a totally different kind of pub stomping

You’re probably right.

I would classify pub-stomping as going full meta team compositions with the intention of utterly destroying PuG teams as hard as possible.

We just play our favourite toons, try to have relaxed matches and happen to be in a party of 5.

Probably little difference/consolation to the other teams though, as you say.

Having played a lot of PvP in Destiny, going up a against a pre-made is like a “OMG we are going to get wrecked!!” kind of thing. I assume that kind of mindset is the same in other games with public matchmaking.

Whenever I see an “Old Man Cranky” title I will assume that person has done a meta pub stomp at some point…I mean we couldn’t even do it when we had a 5v3 Capture Match!

That title is the Battleborn equivalent of the Flawless Emblems/Gear you get in Destiny when you go to the Lighthouse by playing the weekend Trials of Osiris PvP event, a feat that requires winning 9 matches in a row without losing once (you can equip boons that give you a bonus win on your first win and to prevent your first loss from counting towards your card, but that doesn’t make it any easier really since you can get matched against a 9-0 team straight off the bat).

Like those hardcore Japanese meta teams :open_mouth: Actually, I got matched against marumushi’s team last night, it was the typical farm and sweep they always do, we got trashed as always. Random pub team and they still went full meta, I warned SimilarPie and predicted their every move exactly but there was no counter lol, I basically narrated our looming destruction haha.

I also got matched with JosephStalinDesu, he was in a 3-man. Our first match was a 28-minute long victory, we had a rematch against the exact same team and they surrendered after two of them died, 100-100 not even 10 minutes in. What is it with Japanese teams and early surrenders!? I topped every stat as Pendles and we were pushing mid but NO two down SURRENDER! I’ve never seen a Japanese team play late game unless they were farming, push them out of mid BAM surrender!

Sorry to all of these US/EU teams who consider themselves the “best” because they win tournaments, but you have no idea what these Japanese deathball teams are capable of, I’ve done better against Team Stunlock with a random group and red bar than Japanese meta teams in a full premade with green bar, it’s next level…

Well, except for when they surrender, but there are two meta teams in particular who own Incursion and Meltdown and @Ginger_greninja knows who they are, ugh the deathball…

When I’m in a group I’d rather be lagged and playing against another premade then green bar and pub stomping. Last time I played it was 3 stomps in a row. It’s not like it was intentional. Hell we even let their sentry shield recharge.

I don’t mind team Joseph Stalin Desu because we can beat them probably 1/3 times, maybe more if we went HAM.

As for Japanese deathball machine I have no real solution for that either.

Probably doesn’t help that we kind of panic and scatter lol.

Amen to that. I’m glad someone sees the difference!
If some more of these high level groups going against low levels or mid level randoms would just choose random or heroes they suck with at least games would drag on for about 15-20 minutes and not discourage newbies from playing.

But, after watching the numbers drop again I feel I may have been correct with how the player base spiked during the sale and is going to settle down. Not as low as what it was, but pretty damn close. :frowning:

Apparently my aim is improving. @Kaleidodemon spotted we were up against a dev the other day and I was a Thorn in his side. :bow_and_arrow:

Sorry I didn’t get back to you sooner on this; I’ve played 1 day in the 6!

I should be on tonight. Eastern time zone. In the mood to try out some new heroes or ones I haven’t played with much. You’re more than welcome to join! There may be a few of us on. It should be around 8pm(ish) est. If anyone else wants to join up, they’re more than welcome.
Bring a happy attitude.
And some beer.

Wish I had, actually might have. However I’m far too new to recognize any bigshots by name only.

Hehe, we got matched against a full Lv.100 5-man group today and @shinlucario wept the floor with us - Orendi vs. Orendi  at least I think so - Shinlucario9000 was the GT if I remember correctly.
I should not play when I´m so tired, its emberassing…

Got matched today with @reliikki in a nice match of Meltdown. Unlike his/her steamname however, he/she was not very salty!

Last night I played on the same team as @Kaleidodemon and @Gulfwulf, we won. In the next match I played against @Kaleidodemon and @Gulfwulf, we won. The common denominator? I leave that to you dear reader :smile_cat:

I’ve seen a few names I recognise.

Still waiting to get matched up against the devs.
