The lifesteal is one of my favorite parts about him! I can’t wait to see some pvp gameplay just to deconfirm my worries.
My friend was just smashing to survive as well. But please remember that the difficulty was down and there were some extra-sneaky aides to help you out.
Yeah, I’ve seen some videos where the Rath user was trying to stay back and wait for mobs to come to him, and ended up low health/ dying a lot because he didn’t know he had to deal damage to stay alive.

You can add lfesteal to his mid range attacks as well, with him the challenge seems to get, once you do it will be hard to down him or survive

Yeah I guess I worded my thoughts wrong. Due to Rath needing to be in melee range to have sustained survivability, the obvious counter to him is kiting or burst. My concern is that he will be fairly susceptible to kiting. If he goes in on a phoebe and catalytic smashes, then after 2 seconds, if she isn’t dead, she can phasegate away and then Rath is without a gap closer or slow to stick to her. That was my only concern. Otherwise, I absolutely love everything about him, especially from a PvE standpoint.
Also, I’d like to thank all three of you who have replied, you guys keep this forum alive and have given me something to keep my hype going a little bit at a time over these passed few weeks/month with little new content, which is why I decided to actually contribute instead of just lurk!

Just saying, that the smashing-orgy that Rath players experienced at Gamescom will be a slightly more carefully planned festivity, when playing the actual game.
Especially for casters (because of the sneaky cooldown-hax that Randy admitted).

I know. Looking at some Phoebe Gameplay she is almost OP. It was fun smashing those enemies, but do like my games challenging.
Honestly, if Pheebs didn’t use a rapier I would be so much more hype for her than I am, I have just never been a fan of fencing in games since Ultima Online. Her skill set is really awesome though!
My friend and I grabbed some fries on our way out and then sat down to reflect a bit. we both agreed that this was way too easy, and upgrading the turrets felt super useless. He even said he wished he hadn’t done this, because they took enemies from him.
Small sidenote: I still hope there will be some ingame purchasable upgrades to your character. Like minor shield buffs, if you find that you always get rekt 10 seconds after respawn.
I am very jealous that both of you got to play the game already. I’m hoping for beta access, but realistically it will be a few months before I touch it, its killing me!

I only played one game at the end of the last day, so I can only talk about Orendi.
But judging from the loads of video footage that i consumed, she and Phoebe will be top spots.
Fast paced gameplay with a lot of mobility, and actual meaning in thinking about combos.
Some Battleborn seemed a bit too simplistic for me in terms of combo-patterns, like Rath or Marquis. Slaughter till you die or not.
Yeah Rath is going to rely on mind games I believe, and Marquis seems like he’s going to have a world of hurt once you get in close. Orendi seems like so much fun, a chaos witch voiced by Ash Burch just makes her that much better, I just really look forward to melee atm. Also. since you were there, did you notice any Boldur gameplay? I haven’t seen more than seconds worth, or secondary gameplay of him through other people playing.
Never seen anyone play Boldur, even on YouTube ^^
Common. This guy literally just stole the video from the official battleborn channel. And I think we all can agree that these videos would be horrible, if it wasn’t for the small word “teaser”.
