Rath is NOT OP, THORN IS!

That could be because people rag on WF on the forums then “decent” players read about it online, try him out, and find out he is actually quite good once you start unlocking his helix choices (What I did). Until you unlock his helix choices he is not so good, which is probably why most people say he is bad because they don’t actually unlock anything for him.

Same with S&A for me; i adored the character(s), theme, and kit, but i just couldn’t make them work at first. Then i discovered that the 2 sec stun helix makes ALL the difference.

As I read this comment I replaced “Thorn” with “Whiskey Foxtrot” for those first three sentences.
I really like playing as Foxtrot.

Lol, glad you found a good way to play Shayne to your liking but I have a really high KD with Shayne and Aurox and found quite the opposite. I hate the two second stun, the regular pull already has a psuedo stun in that if you are already attacking and you then get pulled in by Shayne you have to actaully release the attack button and press it again to attack anyway. I found that the 2 second stun didn’t feel more useful than using the mechanics in your favor. But I also like to pull people in as they are running away or to heal (Overshield).

Well, i mostly sit back and hurl boomerangs, while saving the stun for people who come after me. I do miss the pull, but i found myself pulling minions alot. It’s funny to me how i can nail people in the head with Toby’s railgun from across the map, but can’t aim S &A’s fetch for ■■■■.

Oh man, I feel like a sniper with S&A’s fetch but as soon as I play Ghalt I can’t hit the broad side of a barn with his hook so I feel you there.

oh yeah she really isnt a sniper. The ONLY time i snipe and its only briefly is when i have to take down or keep a marquis occupied or someone that is sniping our team. But definitely not a sniper, if you try play thorn as a long range sniper dont expect many kills whatsoever, you will be more of a occupier and maybe a slight nuisance lol.

Thorn has crazy power but as others said, she is difficult to handle. For one, your aim has to be really good to be anywhere decent with her, her bow draw takes a bit long which I’m sure not everyone can get used to, she can’t stand in one spot like a sniper for too long, and needs to be constantly moving which is why she has such high mobility. That being said her run jump and shoot combined with her bow draw makes things a bit difficult while trying to use her if you have ■■■■■■ aiming skills.

I really consider rath as the most op because he’s so “pick up and play” that anyone can get their best game out of him.

Rath is a one trick pony though, he gets in uses all of his abilities then gets out. He doesn’t have an escape so he gets punished hard if he doesn’t kill or anyone uses a CC ability on him. Also a large amount of the characters in the roster can just cancel Rath’s ult mid use, no other character can have their ult cancelled as easily.
Rath doesn’t have a large amount of HP or shields so if you dodge or he misses his skills he is pretty much a sitting duck. He is a melee character and has to dive in to do anything. I really don’t think he needs a nerf, and from my experience in the game after playing against him most players can easliy counter Rath after they find out his one trick.

TLDR: Rath is THE noob killer in the game, once you learn how to play he is much less of a threat.

I disagree with the op.
I have no consistent trouble with thorn. If there’s a good player, yes, but it should be that way for every character. Played against several different thorns today of varying effectiveness. But I can’t say I’ve yet felt she’s ever been op.

Lets be honest though, you don’t need much skill to hit Montana or any large character for that matter.

For headshots on Montana’s smallish head? That’s worthy of song!

Doesn’t seem like you need to consistently headshot to shut people down anyway. Though that makes me wonder if Thorn’s arrow has hitbox size compensation. Nothing crazy like Overwatch’s log sized monstrosities mind you.

That was a joke.

I love Thorn, she’s the reason I obtained Worthy of Song. If you have her lore legendary it is extremely useful. She becomes a beast at lvl 7 and god forbid she gets to lvl 10 for earthrender. She’s not a sniper she’s a skirmisher, hop around like a bunny on speed and just wreck face. I adore my little oak

this is literally our callout in games. “rath spinning to win on me on double shard, or single shard, or in our spawn…”

Every character that has a “cast” type Ultimate can have it put on cooldown without it being used. If I am aiming with Oscar Mike or Kleese’s ultimate and get CC’d it’s automatic cooldown without it being used. So Rath isn’t the only one that can have his Ult form disrupted.

Rath may be a “one trick pony” but right now his it’s a REALLY good trick and in the hands of even an average player it can mean easy destruction to the opposing team.

Call it what you like, but I think Thorn is far more difficult to play effectively than Kleese. I have great respect for people that can play Thorn effectively. I’ve been murdered by some great ones.

I haven’t played him much, I really should.
