Understood. But in this case he’s 25 and I’m… a bit older than that!

Little late on this but @DangerousRival you don’t even know how much I agree and support your points. You can’t even imagine how bad it feels when you mow down almost every boss on your first attempt and come and read these stuff. Was especially intense the first couple of days after release.

Were any of the normal story bosses in BL2 a struggle? no. only Terramorphous was. and he can be cheese with the correct weapons.

The especially bad interaction comes because you can’t tell people to learn or have patience because thats like telling them to get good. And they treat that as something offensive. And the threads lead to nowhere.
PS.Thats partly because its internet interaction and people don’t take it well compared to a calm toned voice in real life that explains how things work.
a good chunk of them were a challenge on the first run. Wilhelm and Bloodwing are the only two i think i found to be pushovers. Then rest required a good chunk of time and effort and it wasnt till you blatantly overpowered them I’d think alot of them were easy. In BL3 most bosses you dont even need to find cover, you just walk either hard left or hard right and you’ll avoid of the threat.

really? Katagwa ball was hard the first time I fought him. his dumb tracking rockets nearly one shot you.
katagawa ball is the only i think u NEED to fire from when fighting. The rest is either watching floor panels and strafing or his tanking the hits and applying damage and when/if you go down they toss some minions at you to recover. There’s no one life to live kinda situations were being in a team really gives any advantage.

Having fought Saturn so many times, I didn’t find Katagawa Ball that hard. Sure, the rockets got me at first, but once I knew about them I knew what to do.
And that pretty much sums up all the bosses - if you don’t know what to expect you may get caught out. Once you know their moves and what types of gear are going to help out most, you can get past them.

I got wrecked by Katagawa ball and Agonizer, mostly because I didn’t have good corrosive stuff. And agonizer kept killing the second winds with the spinning blade move.
But I got through them after a few tries, never felt truly unfair or like anything needed nerfs.

My issues with the bosses in BL3 is that I didn’t have the correct equipment to take them on. In my first play through I had no corrosive weapons for Katawanga Ball, so that fight took forever. Then it was the Agonizer 9000, only this time my corrosive weapon was woefully under leveled. In TVHM my biggest issue was with Troy (those purple ball attacks immediately followed by his charge destroyed me).
At no point have I wished the bosses to be nerfed, more like I just needed a co-op buddy so the boss didn’t get back to full health upon respawn. Like a few others have posted, there were several BL2 bosses that caused more pain (Saturn absolutely sucked the first time) but not nearly as much frustration as was doled by the Agonizer 9000/Troy.
I did pick up a lvl 50 SMG that just melts Agonizer 9000, drops from Katawanga Ball and with my Siren build it procs three different elements (shock, corrosive, incendiary). It made the TVHM battle much, much easier.

The only change that made me scratch my head a little was Gigamind’s. I mean, really… Gigamind? But the others I’m ok with. Plus, as they said, more tweaks can come in the future. These various tweaks are nothing new to the BL franchise so I’m not all that concerned.

Most of the bosses are a matter of just moving around and reading their attack patterns. Billy kicked my ass because my gear was crap, and I accidentally fought the OP version of Troy (he’s a little too weak now tbh). As a whole I think all the bosses were generally fair.
None of the bosses have truly undodgeable attacks and give fair warning to attentive players. Don’t think there’s a boss who annoyed off to the level of BA Rex yet.

Yeah, I knew his patterns, and I tried to hide behind cover, but one rocket always hits me.
Im a BL2 veteran as well. Saturns rockets sucked. Its always just those rockets that get me. everything else I can shoot him in the face.
Yeah i just beat Troy with my Operative and I dont think my shield went below 75% once or twice. His only dangerous attack is the Charge at you and if you hit him with a crit he snaps right out of it. The energy balls need to move faster and he needs to summons more meteors when he uses that skill. It’s really not to hard to deal with him and if you have an atlas weapon you dont even need to aim you just hit him with a tracker and just fire until he is immune and stay mid range.
I really hope the Agonizer 9000 never gets any nerfs, it’s easily my favorite fight. It can be a little lengthy but thats the fun out of it. You just dont fire non-stop and every once in awhile sprint/dodge/slide/jump accordingly.

Yeah, him healthgating you in one blast in the pre-nerf fight might have been abit much (though it made for an intense duel
) but those energy balls taking four volleys to break your shield is abit sad for one of the main bosses of the game.
Yeah the Agonizer fight is tricky but you can generally avoid his attacks if you give them the appropriate attention.

I think there right to tone them down some, I mean if you want all 4 character your gonna have to plow through this 4 time at the very least, and if you do TVHM which i do it becomes even more boring.
Plenty of time later to make it tougher, by setting you own limit’s. I mean right now I have only made 2 character’s, and I have serious doubts that i will make the other two for some time if ever.
Also I think many of you have your Bad Arse points up pretty high, and that does make a major difference.
as well as weapons you may hand down to your noob character.
I think they have to keep the game level enough that a totally new no bad arse points and no hand me down weapons, and no one to come in and use the fabricator to have a chance or reasonable field of opportunity .
Gigamind needs a buff for sure. I just beat him today tvhm mode. I didnt even have to move! Stood in 1 spot and mowed him down. First playthrough i had to dodge all over the place and he was harder to kill.

one thing that stands out from your post is multiple characters. Completionist will do that, but most players really will only do 1 or 2 characters and use them exclusively for endgame content.
The storage bank is your shared loot pool for all your characters. You dont need to grind the same gun 4x for each character if you choose to have multiple, you only need 1 good character and a can do attitude to get all the gear you want, which is why the devs stated to not be expecting more characters in the future. Most times people will play one character and thats who they play and maybe a 2nd one if they get bored now and then and the gameplay is design towards that. Instead of a 4 slot shared bank between all characters there is a 50 slot one so if ever in the future you decide you want a new character you dont need to get the same gun over and over.
The guardian ranks do have impact but not enough to be a huge advantage, at least not anything like the Badass Rank in BL2. They are just there to slowly boost your stats for scaling up to play mayhem a bit more easier.
The eridian fabricator is neat till you reach lvl 50, i think it was smart for the devs to put in the game but dumb of them to not allow it to be vaulted. The whole point of it is to spend eridian to get guns your level if yours are lacking, so it would be ideal for 2nd or 3rd playthroughs but since you cant share it between characters it really lacks a purpose.

yeah but one Guardian thing coming back from fight for your life with full shields and health is a pretty major help. and there are a few other treats from Guardian rank that help quite a bit as well.
Having a few legendary weapons and shields at say 12, 19, 24, 30 and 40 laid back for your noob is also handy, and increases your rapid kill.
Having someone drop in and use the fabricator until you manage to increase your ammo till your not running out all the time is also a pretty big help.
Many people have to start at the very bottom and boom up, and have no help except Grit, and as you said a can do Behavior.
I think the bosses need to be reasonably beatable for them too, I think this is something that is hard to gauge when making a game like this, but I do believe they are doing pretty well at it.
EDIT >> and yes I am a Completionist… I have trouble leaving things undone
Again these are story bosses not endgame who cares? Hardest content in story mode is the unskippable cutscenes and talkative npc’s. The put out an invincible and you solo him in 10 secs then you can complain. Outgearing story boss fights should trivialize them or what was the point in getting the gear. Real problem is other then slaughter missions there is no endgame of any kind. Keep in mind dlc had content in bl2 that wasn’t trivial even for cheaters with 200k badass ranks. Story took hours legit farming and moving up OP levels took months.
