Really Terrible Attitudes in Game

As someone who exclusively plays Miko [and Cald], I can tell you that you’re just having really bad luck finding good supports. Honestly, it sounds like you’re getting first-time supports (or at least newbies to Miko) who may not even like the support role. Give the game some time for people to get used to and you’ll likely come across more decent happy-to-heal Mikos than not.

Having said that, I’ve seen plenty of bad attitudes since the OBT launched; I’ll always cringe at a mic-user as long as I play any MMO though.

There isn’t a toxic community here. On the ps4 I have had one group with toxic brothers who fought with each other. Other than that I have been impressed with the quality of players. While I have had bad players on my team no one has brought them down and they have all had the desire to learn and get better. By the end of games the bad players have improved and good teamplay has begun to develop between them and the better players. If you are having trouble with bad players becoming toxic it might be beneficial to look at how you are handling them. There is a high probability that instead of being helpful and coaching them to play better you are in fact being toxic and impatient with them. Stay calm, be nice and try and coach them to be better players without belittling them or being mean. This means no name calling, saying how much that player sucks, or telling them what they did wrong. If you are patient and nice I promise you they will never ever say “fine I won’t heal you at all anymore.” That seems like you might be the toxic one at the point they say that.

I’ve made a few friends who are good at Miko, they know to heal when needed and fight when not. It’s really that simple. You don’t have to jump to extremes like only heal or only fight.

I actually just had another game with an annoying Miko. He would heal me for 100 health or so and then just bail.

Honestly there should be wwaaaaay more incentive for healing. You should level for amount healed. Something like total % 10,000 dmg healed. Otherwise you’re not leveling very quickly and I know that can be frustrating.

Give it time. It is the nature of MOBAs to induce rage in people.

When I play Miko I sometimes get frustrated with people who run away from me and/or do not engage the one enemy that is shooting me as I chase after them to heal. A lot of people seem to forget that a Miko can bring them back well enough to finish the fight.

I couldn’t agree more with every post here.

On the other hand, i have had some amazing healers; amazing teammates for that matter.

It would be nice to have a temporary list of people played with so it would be easy to add them to your friends list.

long stories short, i get a 35 kill streak and we won the match.
then at the voting screen, they all downvoted me.

No you didn’t. Overwatch doesn’t have a downvote option. And Bastion isn’t a tank or support.

@princevine TRUUUUUTH. I usually rotate from Miko, Caldarius, and Rath. When I’m Miko I understand my faster team mates might move quicker than my beam can reach. However I can’t tell you how many times I’ve dropped every thing to go save some ones ass and they just run from me…and die.
Alternately it gets me incredibly heated when I play my other toons and I’m standing RIGHT next to Miko and all they do is spam their Kunai while I potentially die.
Any one else notice on ps4 some times your LT doesn’t respond as well for the healing beam?

you’re right, just saw the video again, they voted for a guy with 0 kills.

still the beta was very much enough to cancel my preorder.

I can sympathize though -

Ran into a really rotten person yesterday when I was playing Orendi. Though I admit, I had a terrible round with her (I usually do decent), his negativity and attitude were totally unwarranted.

So, it’s just people in general, I think. The impersonal nature of the internet makes some people feel like they can just treat people however they want. Pretty sure they wouldn’t say half that stuff in person to someone.

But I’ve run into a lot of super cool and some helpful people, too. There are people that guide the team and I think that is worth mentioning.

It’s just ■■■■■■ people in general.

Had someone bitching that someone stole “their Miko” and said you better be good etc etc all match. Then another guy on voice chat kept just saying “you guys are so bad” “such retards” etc etc.

Turds gonna be turds. Mute and move on.

In that pic his Assist score kinda proves he was healing. Miko would have a hard time hitting that number using his throwing knives. Seems that healer was healing. I hate it when I play a healer and someone I’m with thinks I am their personal healer. To play Miko effectively spacial awareness is of utmost importance and healing the team outwieghs the one. Now usually by half way I get a good feel for the players that are helping the team push forward and the ones that are not. And my list of priority healing targets can change based on that, for sure.

The problem is that a lot of us have gotten used to Miko not helping us…

I used to see a Miko and go “awesome, I can go with someone who works really well with a healer like Montana, they’ll obviously help me when I need it”

Now, I’m not saying that Miko needs to babysit me all day, but when it’s time to push, Miko should hook up… when I’m half-dead, Miko should toss me a beam… I’ve literally had them look at me and run the other way though, so I stopped picking bullet sponges unless the Miko is a friend in my party.

I’m pretty sure they pick Miko because of Miko’s ability to heal itself, and not for its ability to heal teammates.

It’s funny, since I tend to play Miko most frequently, and I’M the one asking why we’re not pushing. I’ve got my folks covered and tanks are running all the way back to hide after a single hit.

Another funny (irritating) thing I’ve seen a lot is when you’re attached to someone healing and they use some ability to get themselves out, leaving you, the healer, to face like 3 enemies.

Omg yes - this happens a lot. :confounded:

lol, I’ve seen that, it’s why I always watch for the indicator, if I’m being healed I’ll rarely dash off… unless there’s a Galilea nearby that needs slammed into a wall :stuck_out_tongue:

if you’re on XBOX then add me, I’ll stand in front and take bullets while someone heals me all day! :stuck_out_tongue:

Also, Damn right I use my Kunai blades. They are remarkably useful at picking off running enemies, as well as throwing some sneaky and very disruptive attacks at range.

I’ve played as Miko quite a bit starting in the last beta and it gets frustrating trying to heal people as they run away from the battle and away from me when I have them at full health.

Or when no one is helping the minions push for the majority of the game. I feel like Miko is best when he is supporting the minion pack with heals and his cloud of spores against opposing minions. If I get two pushers with me then we have a good chance of winning.

I have noticed that most Miko’s don’t heal as much as they should. It messes with my head when I’m playing as Rath and I see Miko right behind me. I think ok here we go. We are gonna clear all the way to the opposing sentry. But instead I die after getting one kill because I get no heals.

Plus they’re poisened kunai. POISENED KUNAI! Miko’s got the second coolest weapon i n the game (first being Ghalt.)

If it’s 2 on 3 and I’m a Benedict hell yeah I’m gunna fly away and you should run too. If one person escaping leaves you 1v3 NEITHER of you should have been there. There are specific duos that can overcome that a 3v2 but they are situational and rare.
