Reduce number of maps required for Ride of the Battlethrone

In the absence of being able to play private PvP matches and gain progress, I feel this challenge needs to change.

Why? Because here in poor old Australia we don’t have a lot of players. Not once since launch have I been able to get a group for Capture. Not one single map. The only single time since launch have I been able to play Echelon instead of Overgrowth, someone else picked Kleese before I could. I’m stuck at 11/14, and none of it is a “challenge”

What’s challenging about completely depending on the map votes of 9 other people or the game population of your region? I can’t change regions and deal with lag, I can’t force others to vote for a different map. It’s not a real challenge because I have no control over any of it.

A challenge is something you have to work for. I know a lot of you have no issues getting into matches and you could probably get this easily, but it’s not fair and it doesn’t fit.

It should be changed to just 8, but require a win instead of just an attempt. It would mean that PvP players would only need to do 2 story missions at the very most to get it, but makes it accessible no matter where you are or when you play.

Games are meant to be inclusive so everyone can enjoy them.

As a PvE only player, I couldn’t agree more!

Unless I’m willing to play a character whose lore I can never complete, I’m limited to only playing 13 of the currently available characters.

I really wish they would change things so that every lore challenge can be completed in a reasonable time-frame in either PvE or PvP, without forcing players to play modes they don’t enjoy.

Or, they could just let private matches count towards lore challenges (which they have already said they will never do)… but I doubt they will ever allow either of these solutions.

See, I got really excited when I saw the two options for acquiring characters (gaining command rank or fulfilling challenges), because it let you have some versatility in what you wanted to do. I thought all the challenges would be that way, but It was really disappointing to see it wasn’t.

We even have items that have the activation clause “Player or Major Enemy”. A lot of player lore challenges just rely on targeting players (Like Whiskey Foxtrot, score 150 crits on enemy players), and those could easily just be adapted to include major enemies as well.

All challenges should have alternate ways of completion, or be more inclusive to players of different playstyles, but Kleese’s bugs me in particular because it’s not even ‘difficult’. It requires no skill, mostly just happenstance and good fortune.
