Hybrid weapons haven’t they been gone since borderlands 1?

How about a a Maliwan version of the flakker that shoots acid splatter with acid wash skin?

Guess you could… add a 100% stabilization with four stabilizer flaps on the sides of an hyperion assault rifle. With some sort of catch to it like u must empty clip and reload for it to take affect

Yeah, back when legendary effects could come from the accessories and stuff. They were good fun.

@rekimaru069 Dang, sounds like the Acid Gat out of Mob of the Dead. That would be pretty dang sweet.

This is what I came here for. Crafting does not have to mean not looting… In fact it can mean more looting if done right!now that the games been out for over 4 years and I’ve beaten it repeatedly the thing that brings me back is the use of a third party program… I wish I didn’t have to use it to experiment and I could do it in game and I feel like a large portion of the player base feels the same. Imagine the work and feeling of accomplishment you would have along with attachment to your gear and character after completing your perfect loadout!

I think some sort of compromise between a crafting system and grinder might work. The grinder was almost as disappointing as the slots, TBH, and the way they changed the recipes during updates kind of annoying since it was hard enough to figure out already unless you’re the type that likes to skulk around chat forums and enter SHIFT codes rather than actually playing. Something where you could throw a few guns in, have their parts randomly mixed around, and lose 1/3 to 1/2 of the parts in the process so you can’t just sit there and throw the same items back in forever… that might satisfy the crafty while keeping the spirit of the game.

(Also I kinda wish they had put an easter egg in there if you ground up certain one-time-per-playthrough skins or “personal recording” items. Basically anything becoming useless late game but continuing to drop is going to hurt the replays.)

While the grinder could take random legendaries and turn them into something else, the presequel made it too much of a big deal. I still prefer just good old farming.

I love tediore reloads! It makes perfect sense with digistruct technology… My only problem Isthat in reality you wouldn’t need to pick up ammo because the bullets would digistruct along with the weapon… But that’s obviously op and would lead to a huge balance issue.

I have always thought about all those other interplanetary vaults shown at the end cut scene in BL2,
cue opening intro scene in BL3 of an older Sir Hammerlock, finally changing sides and hooking up with Gaige (query Moxxie’s Zaford-Hodunk Valentines Love Connection DLC…),
Sir Hammerlock in a rocking chair reminiscing as Gaige raises their 2 or 3 kids running around…

Hammerlock introduces us to the Vault Hunter Service (or Guild or whatever),
which has a lodge with display cases all over with the intent to FARM the best loot for each display case representing mission rewards and unique weapons…
Idea being, you can craft weapons to tackle tougher enemies to get better versions for the display cases, and those collected display weapons earn some kinda prestige (not bad ass ranks) towards other unlocks and general community gloating…
Only thing being, the display case weapons can only be farmed not crafted,
but you CAN craft weapons to use to farm those missions in the first place.

Hammerlock’s reminiscing reminds him of, “Ah, yes, I remember when we fought…”'
whjch could lead in quests.
Obviously, interplanetary travel pretty much has to be a no-brainer for a BL3,
whether its customizable ships, eventually ending the game with even more Eridian vault secrets unlocking the ability to turn the Fast Travel into an interstellar system almost like Stargates… ending with the latest generation of Vault Hunters discovering another world where the Eridians allied with other advanced races, and even more vaults across several nearby galaxies full of vaults, further setting up the BL storyline for a BL4.

Spoiler DLC could be an alien vault offering some kind of biotech that restores Hammerlock and Gaige into less-mechanical-looking cybernetic improved humans…

…Just some suggestions.

As long as I don’t have to manually control flight of the ship I’m game. And Gaige is intentionally mech oriented so to change that about her would pretty much kill the character to me

You say hammerlock “finally” changing sides like it’s a bad thing he’s homosexual.
Pretty messed up yo.

Characters in stories change.
I suggest actually reading books from time to time.

Were the technology ever discovered, wouldn’t it be their choice to decide to use it (Gaige and Hammerlock)?
(…or rather, the game developers…).
As such, Gaige would be the mom by then, raising kids, the spot Moxxie filled in the current games (she would most likely be a grandmother by then… Brick and Ellie? He even said, “I’d punch that…”.).
Gaige would be passing the torch to her progeny, she wouldn’t be the playable character in BL3.

As to Hammerlock choosing his own life’s choices… I’m just running with what Gaige said in the DLC… "but if Hammerlock ever switches sides, I am so lookin’ that down."
People with common conditions finding common ground creating a friendship, love blossoming…
I feel sad for anyone who’s so small minded that they think sexual preference isn’t a choice.
The mind and the brain are what a person uses to decide what they do.
So go tell a paralyzed man in a wheelchair he can never compete in a marathon.
Go tell anyone with a physically limiting genetic disorder that they’re less of a person and therefore aren’t entitled to pursue life to their fullest rather than wallowing in pity for their physical condition.

No one puts a gun to someone’s head and says, “this is the only choice you get in life and you will accept it.”

If somewhere down the road Hammerlock’s fancies and interests changed and he desired to sire children, why is it so sadly gaddam difficult for some people to accept, “people have their own right to decide what they want to pursue and do throughout their life” ?

That they shared a common physical condition would bring the initial friendship.
But to be so damn close minded that, “well by the current story, he’s gay, so he could NEVER EVER fall in love with a female” is an absolute total crock of horse sh*t.

Too many small minded binary-thinking people in the world, acting like everyone should only ever be entitled to two choices and no other, and never entitled to change and choose otherwise later, as their experiences and desires shape and change their aspirations and pursuits thru life…?
THAT is what’s messed up, yo.

It’ll probably bite me in the ass delving my hands in this bag of ferrets, but anyway.

It does sound like you’re implying that you can switch sexual nature nilly willy.
I certainely didn’t “choose” to be bisexual, it was something I found that out during puberty. Not by choosing, but by understanding.

Neither did I choose that I’m pre-op MtF transgender, I had to discover it. Which took way too long, and it threw me into a rather severe depression I only recently managed to recover from.

Wow, that entire drawn out tirade over me saying that being homosexual isn’t a bad thing,
No one said he couldn’t choose to not be homosexual anymore. I fear for this new generation.

…I was just going to tell them to stop being a “cupid me” by saying people belong together just because they have cybernetic limbs.

Ah but see, it was the dev team who wrote the Moxxie Valentines DLC who decided to script Gaige to say, “if Hammerlock ever changed sides, I am so locking that down.”

It wasn’t anything petitioned by the hetero community demanding to imply, “we need less, blatantly forced homosexual ideals pushed in this game.”

As I saw it, Gaige was attracted to him EXACTLY because they shared that semi-mechanical similarity.
Then again, like 20,000 other lines in the game, maybe it was all just off-the-cuff humor and we ALL need to take it less seriously: it’s just a fantasy game, after all.

Maybe some people are just… genetically dispositioned to have a hard time accepting reality so instead choose to surrender to fantasy to instill in them what should or shouldn’t chose in life…?

I’ve had lactose intolerance since I was a child. Does that mean I have to accept, “life says I can’t eat ice cream” ?
No, I just learned how to better chose in moderation with dairy products I can better tolerate than others.
Just like no one is pre-dispositioned to be a vegan: you chose your lifestyle and what you do to cope with your traits.
You chose what to stand against.
You chose what sides to take.
You chose what to surrender to.
No one forces it on you. You make a conscious choice to get on that bus.

Ah I see, I only played the valentine’s day DLC once in a couch co-op session and that dialogue probably got lost in a splosion as they are want to do.

The assumption that cybernetic similarities would be the driver of attraction… well someone probably made it when writing the dialogue, too, so score one more for “cupid me”.

Most people’s theory of mind is based on their own mind… you’d be surprised how many people make a lot of their “choices” subconsciously – not everyone engages rational centers over such things, and not every mind is as free from the influence of emotion and mood as the more intellectually motivated. And that’s a good thing a lot of the time.

youve missed the point that he was commenting on your use of the word “finally”. but nevertheless the following ramble was 100% accuracte. cant help but mention however that none of the above encounter has any relevance to the thread. glad you got it off of your chest though . back to bl3, i quite like the idea of the next installment being narrated by a reminiscent Hammerlock. think it would be a good vehicle for some crazy plot that would if nothing else help the writers more coherently structure the main story. great idea

I dropped a formula suggestion for it awhile back, something like a majority or exclusion based on the product and manufacturer. Something like 2Vladof barrels and a Torgue barrel (or 3 Vladof barrels) would get the majority vote of a Vladof -barrel, and exclusion would trigger with the result of 3 different barrels being any manufacturer but those 3, making for a relatively predictable system. Wasn’t limited to just barrels, of course.

Honestly, why does he have to be? I liked the distinguished English persona he had initially. I had this discussion with Mr. Burch before he left gearbox employ. Real world influences should definitely not impact the game world. That’s the beauty of coming up with a imaginative creation.

Because why not?

So basically with that logic, why give any character likes and dislikes? Why make them seem like people at all?

Its adding depth. Story. Personality. It makes them more relatable. It makes them more individual. More unique.
Maybe it’s just me, but giving characters the smallest of details to their life, be it sexuality or what sort of food they prefer, makes them seem more real. And when they seem more real, the character and story and game is more enjoyable.

Moxxi has always flaunted her sexuality. Why aren’t you complaining about that?
