That’s the way I feel about some of the gimmicks. Give me a Scav or Bandit AR with 120 rounds and a 10 or 11 fire rate and a chance at a fast reload on it instead of me bring like well I can use this till I find a good Vladof to replace it and never go back. And yes to S&S and Atlas. We all know Athena was a mercenary and help you destroy Atlas and wouldn’t be surprised if she stole and sold the tech to some corporation on a different planet maybe for a tidy profit.

agree with you on that and i hope they find some way of re-implementing atlas and S&S into bl3 remember Rhys from TFTB is now Altas CEO aswell

I personally like it. And wouldn’t mind if this trait is kept for Dahl.
i dont think they are necessary at all why cant they just make a prefix ( thus expanding the dwindlingly small loot pool ) that means guns have a chance to spawn with burst prefix rather than tying it to a manufacture

Personally, I like how each manufacture got a more defined trait, something I consider a step above BL1’s loot.
However, giving Torgue the exclusive right to explosive weapons is slightly less fun, atleast give the others a chance at explosive ammo aswell, just not guarantied on every hit.

the reason bl1’s loot pool is superior is because guns could have hidden stats and bonuses and were not constrained by there manufacture. personally i think it made for a more exciting loot pool and made guns worth looking at in contrast to how alot of the gimmicks in later games made AR’s and most dahl and tediore weapons useless.

As far as loot goes… I miss the good Ole days in BL1 when chests where hidden and it actually meant something to stumble across one. The more harder the chest is to find the more rare the loot ought to be

Is it illegal to like both? Sledge’s Shotgun is still the best.
Anyway - I’d kinda like to see every manufacturer making every type of weapon. Maliwan assault rifles, Bandit snipers, Vladof shotguns, Jakobs SMGs. Also would like to see the return of S&S.

I see your point but… doing so would lessen the significance of each product line. Perhaps this can be fodder for GBX to come out with hybrid brand crossovers as add on content as game ages. Think of it… simple code tweeks and charge me like for 5-10 guns/ items at a time. (Tiny Tina voice) “good plan? Great plan.”

Ehhhh, touché, but… I wanted a Maliwan shotgun for Christmas =(
I never really thought that it would ruin the variety between manufacturers, though. They’ve all still got their little gimmicks, the elemental shizzle, they explosive bullets, the reverse recoil, etc. I just couldn’t think of a good reason why Hyperion wouldn’t make assault rifles.
Hybrid-kinda weapons would be pretty cool though. They could make it part of a DLC, like they did Glitch weapons in the Pre-Sequel.

I wouldn’t have a problem with Hyperion assault rifles or even maliwan shotguns you have a solid point, each manufacturer has its own unique advantages. I really feel these variations are missing from all weapons in every game. It needs to be looked into.

How about a a Maliwan version of the flakker that shoots acid splatter with acid wash skin?
Guess you could… add a 100% stabilization with four stabilizer flaps on the sides of an hyperion assault rifle. With some sort of catch to it like u must empty clip and reload for it to take affect

Yeah, back when legendary effects could come from the accessories and stuff. They were good fun.
@rekimaru069 Dang, sounds like the Acid Gat out of Mob of the Dead. That would be pretty dang sweet.

This is what I came here for. Crafting does not have to mean not looting… In fact it can mean more looting if done right!now that the games been out for over 4 years and I’ve beaten it repeatedly the thing that brings me back is the use of a third party program… I wish I didn’t have to use it to experiment and I could do it in game and I feel like a large portion of the player base feels the same. Imagine the work and feeling of accomplishment you would have along with attachment to your gear and character after completing your perfect loadout!

I think some sort of compromise between a crafting system and grinder might work. The grinder was almost as disappointing as the slots, TBH, and the way they changed the recipes during updates kind of annoying since it was hard enough to figure out already unless you’re the type that likes to skulk around chat forums and enter SHIFT codes rather than actually playing. Something where you could throw a few guns in, have their parts randomly mixed around, and lose 1/3 to 1/2 of the parts in the process so you can’t just sit there and throw the same items back in forever… that might satisfy the crafty while keeping the spirit of the game.
(Also I kinda wish they had put an easter egg in there if you ground up certain one-time-per-playthrough skins or “personal recording” items. Basically anything becoming useless late game but continuing to drop is going to hurt the replays.)

While the grinder could take random legendaries and turn them into something else, the presequel made it too much of a big deal. I still prefer just good old farming.
