ah, sorry, must have missed that the explosion doesn’t work. I haven’t really played until this humble bundle release. I played a lot during the beta, but I didn’t dig too much into Reyna until this week. Thoroughly enjoy her dynamic skills though.
Reyna by far is the worse support for wave clearing, but she isn’t the worse for level’ing by much honestly. It’s just a weird way to do it.
I’ll give you my tips into level’ing with her.
- Overshield or target the biggest wave clearing teammate
If you are not engaged with another player and they have no overshield, then overshield your teammate. Just like when your opponent kills a player, you will also get assist experience for wave clear if you do this. Also targeting the biggest mob will give you assist experience if your overshield is on cool down. I want to say if you target your teammate you get assist experience but i’m not sure if that’s true.
- Target your opponent.
On top of priority target, if you do a regular target on your opponent you get assist experience if that opponenet is taken out. This literally can give you an assist without doing any type of damage. Seeing as Reyna is good for marking targets you can actually alternate between these two and keep your chances at exp up.
- Stay between your DD"s and tanks pre level 5
Until you can get your active cooldown skill, stay close to your attackers with visual sight of your tanks incase they need help. You will get more experience assisting the attackers, but you may need to oversheild your tanks depending on the circumstance. Bounce priority target, overshield, and your single target between all foes and get all the exp that area has to offer. Once you get level 5, your abilities will be on cool down so much faster that you won’t have to hard focus getting that type of experience
- Don’t be afraid to assassinate
With the increase to Reyna’s laser pistol damage she can burst down single targets extrememley fast (At level 10 i’ve gotter her to do up to 111 bullet damage = 1,300 a clip). Go for slow at level 2 and start assassinating unsuspecting opponents when in one on one encounters. You will be almost be guaranteed a kill or assist. If you have another healer that is doing extrememley well, then don’t be afraid to take that damage buff at level 4 instead of healing, it makes a huge difference in DPS and you and your attackers will melt faces.
But yea I also agree that she does need a bigger AoE on her level 3 mutation, but depending on the situation I might go with more laser pistol damage now that it’s gotten the buff. Too bad that her plasma pistol damage hasn’t gotten a buff too cause it’s fallen in comparison at the moment.
You do get exp for this as long as the minions die while they have the shield on, dont like doing it for that reason unless in a team and they understand. Also dont like per-emptively using it when nobody needs it just in case.
That’s why I say if not engaged, situations where you know you will have your cool down ready again incase if you get player encounter. It may seem unsafe but it isn’t as unsafe as I thought as if you wait until player encounters chances are at the lower levels it’s not as big a boost as expected. You will help in the long run anyways as you won’t be falling behind in levels if experience is the issue.
