If you subscribe to me on YT you will learn completely new mechanics about items and Zane skill interactions.
Although people perennially credit Gentlemann for the cutpurse thing, all he did was slap Tediores on top of the interaction I described in detail and had to argue with him about its usefulness.
A few days ago I discovered that you can do the same thing completely without DB with slam/slide artifacts that launch projectiles because those count as melee attacks, making DB unnecessary with those prefix/suffix combinations.
It’s my birthday today so I might not get around to it, but I completed Slaughterstar 3000 with a melee bayonet Zane build and 5 negative modifiers and it was actually much stronger than some of the gun builds I was running. Still 1-3 shotting enemies with my damage being halved and face tanking huge 4-8+ enemy mobs.
It’s literally a lack of imagination/effort to determine what the character’s limits are.
Yeah I just never go to YT unless I’m following a link here lol. I will drop you a sub though for sure. I just prefer to have Twitch open all the time lol.
I honestly laugh when I see someone say this because it’s like, the most obvious interaction ever. I thought of it’s possibilities before I even touched Zane.
Yeah if lucky enough to get a cutpurse-launchpad, that can be amazing. I haven’t gotten one in all my time yet though I really want it!
It’s okay, I have literally never found a Cryo Hex even though that’s supposed to be an item you need to make Zane work.
Also yeah, the interaction was pretty obvious to me as well, I didn’t even consider it to be a big deal. I discovered it in like my first week playing because I REALLY wanted melee Zane to work at the time and couldn’t get him to. Didn’t even think it’d be a big deal until I saw it blow up on the forums and people started making content surrounding it.
It’s not even a thing I’d normally think twice about if it didn’t become a staple of so many builds. If anyone is going to get credit for it, it should be the person who shared the interaction.
All I’ve discovered during this time is its not who has the idea first, but who makes it the most accessible (in this case, broadcasting it to the largest audience).

Small world, mine was yesterday.
On topic, I didn’t know the slam things counted a melee. I have one on the only Victory relic I have, but never slam.
Nice run, great video. I’ve been messing around with a Flesh Melter and Ghast Call on moze, which is, well, about what you would imagine. Cool to see somebody doing this with a one action skill / grenade Zane. I will have to transfer the gear over and give it a go
I can’t wait for Maliwan takedown, if it has as many robots as I hope, Flesh Melter builds will eat them alive

online on pc. even round 1 i generally see 2-3 anointed, 4-5 normal psychos/zealots/tinks, and the rest hardened badasses with rockets. the rocket spam is so bad that nothing’s visible.
The rocket spam gets bad, but that’s why you keep moving unless you kill them fast enough where it’s not an issue. Repositioning is the best solution though. Occasionally it will happen where you get downed and cannot see the enemies to second wind.
Gearbox said they are working on that. That’s not a Zane specific topic and out of scope for this thread.
