Score seems unbalanced

I have played a lot of game already, I’m command rank 24 at the moment. I’ve been playing with a friend a lot, who always chooses Benedict or Oscar Mike, 2 great damage dealing characters. I on the other hand, always choose Miko and support this friend. I think the final scores of games are extremely unfair for support characters. I barely kill anyone. I’m happy if I have 2 kills in a match. ;p

But it seems like killing others makes your end score SO much higher than assisting and healing. I mean, I only got a very high score when I had 25 assists. My score was 35. But normally I can’t get a score above 20. T_T And I agree that kills should be worth more than assists, but does healing even get counted in your score? Because I healed over 100000 health one game and my score was not that high either. :confused: I think my score was 14 and I had 12 assists and 1 or 2 kills or something?

I actually only play as Miko, and I don’t have an extremely high score most of the time… And I am 100% sure it isn’t because I am bad at playing him/her/it!

So anyone else playing support characters who does not agree with the score system? (Also, if someone already made a topic about this, please direct me to it because I was not able to find it.)

How was your minion kills cause those count to if I’m not mistaken miko has an aoe attack if you use that on a mob of minions and your friend takes them out it should count towards your score

Also I mostly play ambra a healer and my score tends to be pretty high but then again she’s kinda beefy at this point

Sadly, support characters are rarely acknowledged :frowning:

To be honest, I main support on League, Smite, and even Infinite Crisis while that was around; and (unless you’re playing with very nice people or friends) you’ll pretty much never be acknowledged. Basically, if you support well, you’re doing your role correctly and it’s kind of just what everyone expects you to do; if you mess up though, a lot of the blame is placed on you.

Now I don’t find it too much of a big deal that I don’t get a big score so long as it isn’t affecting how much credits and exp I get. I generally look at my assists and compare them to my deaths. I generally say I have a good game as long as I have double or more assists than deaths.

In short? Supports are the unsung hero most of the time. While it would be nice to have some nice recognition for our efforts, I wouldn’t say I disagree with the score system so long as I get the same amount of exp and credits.

I’d say don’t worry about the score, just pat yourself on the back for keeping your buddy and teammates alive and well.

I’m sorry, but I can hardly call Ambra a support with the damage she deals. I’ve had a game with me and OM playing really good, he had loads of kills and did tons of damage but Ambra was able to deal more damage. She was like Miko and OM in one… (Btw, Ambra is really great though. I’ve played her a few games too, loved it. ;p)

And I’m not sure if it will count towards score, because I don’t really have any minion kills in any game(I already have trouble taking out just the Shepard when I’m dealing with minions alone. ;p) I do throw that sack of spores on most groups of enemy minions and attack them when my allies are full health… Or maybe I’m not noticing it counts towrads my score though… ;p I’ll try to figure that out. Thanks for pointing that out.

I don’t really mind having a low score either but… I am not sure if your score also affects how much character exp and command exp you get. Because then it would really suck. :I But the real problem for me is, that whenever I feel I’m doing really great, and my score is low, I feel like I haven’t played that well at all! The score is pretty good at making me feel bad about a game, you know.

Though I am still wondering if ammount of healing done and ammount of damage done are counted in the score system? Anyone has an answer to that? ;p

They need to fix this ASAP. I’ve been following this game religiously for a year because I believed Gearbox was making a game for “every kind of badass” and yet it feels just like CoD scoring or something. I thought this game would be different and the “that’s how most games like this are” argument cannot fly. I don’t want most games. I want something better. I can be #1 in every category but because I’m not focusing on player kills my score is always lower than others who ONLY do kills.

YES! You have the exact problem I have. Sometimes I totally feel like the MVP of the game(Look, I probably ain’t but Ican feel like I am!) and my assists show that I was doing well though… But it seems so unfair that I am constantly healing someone who is getting kills because they are still alive because of me. And that person has a score that is like 10~20 points higher than mine. And his level in game is 2 levels higher too. T_T

Why can’t they make it so your score also depends on what class you are playing? Like, when you play as a support, you get more score for an assist than an attacker. And you get less points for a kill than an attacker would get.

I have the same problem as a tank. Scrolling over to the damage received column and seeing the lowest number highlighted in green…I’M A TANK! If I don’t have the highest damage received then I’m not performing my role.

I’d say get rid of the score column and just have the stats. Score is only used to settle ties and is it so wrong to just say the match ended in a draw?

I just want to know what the hell the “score” score is. Can someone post the formula for that?

Dont try solo minions. Wait your own minions to soak damage and help kill enemy minions. All you need is to damage and you will do It good with spore bomb.
I agree with score system. It should not prefer most kills death ratio. It should take other stats to count too, becouse healing and damage making etc. is important too.
I have thought after end of match if support has mostly assists he has done great ( healing and cc while team making kills gives you assists too)

Whatever it is, its broken currently. I’ve had meltdown matches with more minion kills than the rest of my team combined, most big minions built, cash made etc, but my score was next to nothing because of low player kills while trying to carry the game. Minions are currently worth maybe a tenth of a player kill. The previous system they had in place was so much better and rewarded supports more while also encouraging people to actually play the objective.

Getting rid of the score entirely would make me feel much better. I’m not really a go out and get kills player which was this game’s biggest selling point for me but it’s discouraging the way it is.

It seems to be 2 points for a player kill and 1 point for player assist evidence below.

Score is a nice twitch imo, but It should count other stats than kills too, so kills wouldnt be main thing to follow

Oh my, it really isn’t counting any objective play at all. That has to be a bug.

I really think that a tank should have a higher score the more damage he takes, supports for healing done(Or overshield done… Or shield gived… This is actually quite hard for Reyna and Kleese o-o) and attackers for damage done. I mean, some Marquis do INCREDIBLE damage in a game, but they end up last because he barely ever gets the kills, just the assists.

I believe shield healing is counted as healing for the heals given column.
