WAT? This just does not make sense on a number of levels. Even if this rather absurd statement had any merit then the balance of BL2 / BL:TPS players playing offline (without steam) would represent the same ratio. There is no rationale that would indicate any difference.
Since it is a game within a franchise that I am comparing it is very safe to say the same proportions of BL / BL:TPS will exist on each platform. There is no rationale to indicate otherwise.

I am keeping all digits crossed for more TPS DLC.

“didnt do a good job of capturing the magic of the first two”
In. your. Opinion.
I personally rank bl1 and tps as equals, making bl2 my least favorite in the series (which still makes it an awesome game)
i like that you tried to correct my analogy, (even though it makes no difference what the target audience is or wether they are from a different series, because im not trying to refute that bl2 is better than tps, im trying to explain to you that wether a person thinks it is better or not is their own bloody opinion) and then proceeded to prove my point for me.
You say that the hunger games is CLEARLY the best book and that mockinjay lacks something the first one did. And the majority of people might feel that way, but just because everyone else is doing doesnt make it cool, correct, or acceptable. You have to form your OWN OPINION on that.
And im honestly curious what this grand uniqueness is that bl1 and they have now lost.

Me too dude. I’d like to see at least one more campaign DLC, or maybe a skin and head pack for all classes, not like the individual packs they released for BL2.

If it comes, it comes.
If not, yeah, ill be sad!
But, BL3 is on the horizon and i have a SERIOUS backlog of games to get into!
Hell, even in the Borderlands series alone, across all 3 games, i have so much i still need to do!

No, it just makes BL2 more popular if more players overall are playing it. Popularity does not equate to critical acclaim. (TPS could still be considered a better game and I do). I don’t play online so using online steam numbers is subjective at best as it’s only PC players that are counted.

I dont think its possible to get that point across to him. It seems that, to him, that is exactly what it means
No kidding! I highly doubt ill ever be “done” with any of the borderlands games haha

I played the hell out of tps, but when I lost hype, I chose BL2 over TPS. This is just a guess but I think I represent the typical steam player in this regard, and this is where @DontPanic’s numbers come from. I’m playing with CV again and thoroughly enjoying it, but once I try all the new stuff, I’ll likely go back to BL2 again. The locations and enemies are just more varied. If you enjoy tps more than bl2 that’s great, I am too currently, just understand that we’re in the minority, and the Steam numbers are in fact a good indicator of this.
And that’s why I also agree that more DLC is unlikely, and also because the average Chadbro player who happened to buy the season pass, and mostly comments on youtube and maybe IGN (but definitely not here), will throw a sh*tfit going “gbx ripped us off again with dlc not included in the pass”. Hell, these butthurt-beverlies don’t even need to buy the season pass to start a “vocal uninformed minority” type tantrum.
I’ve still got my fingers crossed for some type of event though, nothing fancy, but something fun

The Chadbro’s have a point though as when Gearbox announced the season pass at PAX they emphasised that all DLC for the game that is announced (not at Pax, just announced) will be included within the season pass.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-PsMdc6kMg
I already mentioned this a few times: The style of the season pass often changed. If I remember correctly, the video shows the FIRST statement about what the season pass includes. But then they changed their statements from “all DLCs” (to be more precisely, I think they also said: full support until a specific date) to saying that it will only include the next four DLCs, which is right now the two character packs + two story things (Holodome + CV).
So the question is, does this proof that we’re done with DLCs?

Understood. I do think they are in a quandary though if they add content that is not in the season pass when it was implicitly implied when they announced it that the reason for announcing it was to avoid the confusion of what was in the season pass that they had in BL2. It would have been prudent of them if they had changed the terms of the season pass to explicitly make clear of these changes from those that were initially advertised and they didn’t. This would cause a problem as you cannot advertise one thing and switch to another (bait and switch). Aside from this course of events possibly being a big legal problem it would further alienate the fanbase. I know Randy is a magician and it is a good to play a trick in front of the audience but not so good to play a trick on the audience. With this I doubt they are in a position to spend money to make a free DLC (unless its a small headhunter pack maybe) nor are they in a good position to charge for DLC. I expect we won’t see any more DLC but we will possibly see another Loot Hunt which again alienates all the non US fans as like the last time only the US fans will get the privilege to win cash and real prices.

Yes, that’s what I was alluding to as well. They’d be breaking a promise if there was extra dlc for money now.

I believe BL2 also sold a lot more copies than TPS so maybe, that has something to do with it
TPS sales certainly weren’t helped by constant reference to glorified DLC in the media pre-release.
People with both games are most probably in 2 camps. Each one having a preference for one over the other. I’m in the TPS camp. Tried to play BL2 just prior to Claptastic Voyage release but only lasted about 5 mins

I think your right about Bl2 selling more copies. If we are to focus solely on Steam then anyone without the games, coming to Steam during a sale (and I reckon the 75% off sales have been on multiple times since TPS launch) would have seen there is a big difference on the sale prices between Bl2 and TPS.
TPS season pass has not had a major reduction and the amount of content available for Bl2 is vast and the reductions have been pretty big. Most of the Bl2 content included with the base game has cost about £8.99 and the Head Hunter packs and Digi Peak were around a £1 each! That has to skew the figures.
I think that:
A) the season pass needs to be more upfront about it’s contents at the start
B) eventually people prefer the structure and content of the BL2 DLC pricing model. Content refering to multiple additional story campaigns to add variety to the gameplay. And structure regarding how the 4 story campaigns were part of the season pass. Extra characters are fantastic and I love playing through as each one, but maybe those need to be handled differently for the average players?
C) Borderlands 2 is a bigger and more varied package overall now than TPS. However, going back to BL2 I find myself missing oz kits, the grinder, double jumping, and the classes from TPS. So I will continue playing both. I have focused on TPS since it’s release but I might switch back and forth now from day to day or week to week. Especially with the handsome collection recently obtained. And there’s still plenty to do in TPS and BL2. And even BL1.
D) I think it’s still possible we’ll see a little more story campaign added to the game. Even if it’s headhunter size.
How was it unclear? If you mean the whole “includes all DLC” thing, I don’t really see that as a bad thing
