Attack speed does not in any way increase charge time on anyone. gRANT said this on reddit a while back. Just I figured you should k own, because if youāre building that way then decreased charge time would be amazing as your shots might be a notch higher.
I know. But people see similarities and go all fan boy against it. Sorry Iām blabbering, Iām tired.

It most assuredly does. I donāt know who gRANT is, but iāve been using Toby since the beta, and can confirm that is does. I wouldnāt THINK of entering PVP without an attack speed gear item on Toby.
EDIT: Waitā¦ are you screwing with me, because what you meant is that attack speed gear REDUCES charge time, and i was saying it INCREASED it out of context. Oh, youā¦ -shakes finger appreciatingly- Hint taken!
Unfortunately, Iām not that subtle and hilarious. gRANT is the lead balancer designer and has worked on the game for a loooong time now. Sadly, he said there is no way to use attack speed gear to affect charge time. It will allow you to shoot faster, but for ISIC and Toby, only helices can increase charge time. Thorn has no options. Your sense of it taking less time to charge may be a placebo. I would trust you if it wasnāt the lead balancer designer. I would go try it out to double check but Iām about to go out and donāt have the ability to stream it to prove it.
If itās a placebo, then i want MORE of it, because my penguin is kicking ass.

I canāt find any hard data on what you claim, and the online community seems divided on this matter. I could SWEAR that attack speed DOES work on Toby (heās been firing SO FAST for me), but i kind of hope that YOUāRE right, as that means better gear choices. Could it be that my life as i perceive it is a figment on my, or someone elseās, imagination?

ISICās Charge Cannonās ācharge timeā is not affected by attack speed and reload speed to my knowledge. For charge weapons, we would need to add a āreduce charge timeā gear. The primary attack does do more damage with attack damage gear.

But heās NOT SURE. If he fractured time into multiple pieces, he wouldnāt be sure enough of himself to press the button at the same time. He might not even be sure enough to break out of the dog crate!

Well, he presumably was involved in the code and knows that it isnāt a factor. And he doesnāt say heās not sure, he says āto my knowledge.ā Which means that according to what he knows (and he should know as much and more than anybody), it isnāt affected by attack speed
I MUST test this when i get off of work; itās driving me crazy not knowing if iām crazy!
