Sentries seem to be the core problem

I thought the winter update was gonna make changes to Incursion anyway.

It will? I most have missed that info. What sort of changes are coming to incursion again?

Because being able to slow someone and hitting them with encore easier is considered weaker. She’s still going to have her ridiculous pillar damage too.

It’s not so easy to dance around that thing from experience. If it has you targeted, you only have limited time in the enemy camp. I’d say a good 40% of all my deaths as Deande are from the sentry, simply for the fact that it can track me while drop kick and dash around while normal players can’t. And if I’m dodging cannon blasts then I’m not really 100% focused on the enemy which gives them an advantage.
But I don’t play incursion in a normal way. I get bored in lane so I’m usually behind enemy lines or doing my own thing. By myself. When I am the only thing to target the sentry always targets me. I’ve learned to play my window months ago, but every now and then the AI does something strange, or just flat out kills me. It also doesn’t help that the damn thing can distinguish instantly between me and my clone, and it knows exactly where I am when I come out of stealth.

Anyway, it’s not as easy as it looks, especially if it’s just you back there.

Don’t have the footage to prove it but there are instances were the sentry just doesn’t bother targeting, I myself have done this and seen others do it. specially on overgrowth, His range seems limited, specially if you hug the walls on the outside.

Specially if the turret on top is out.

Have had this happen for and against me multiple times. It’s silly.

Glad I’m not the only one, I’ve seen people getting massacred by one or 2 enemy BB right in front of the sentry while he just stares and does nothing. once I see this happen the enemy team tends to jump inside and out like nothing for the rest of the match, meanwhile you poke your head out and get blasted right away by theirs.

In other mobas I’ve played the ā€œsentryā€ will kill all minions before it attacks players. Perhaps the people seemingly going unnoticed by the sentry are starting their attack as soon as the sentry is targeting something else. I think the sentry takes a second to switch targets.

Maybe one player enters the threat range of the sentry and leaves but the sentry is still targeting that player while another player dives the sentry.

It’s happening with no minions on the field, 99% of the time it happens after a wave of minions have been cleared and the enemy is pressuring you back. Not sure what triggers it to stop targeting but it’s getting annoying, Even when you’re on the opposite end, Causing sentries to die a lot faster. Last night 4 of 6 matches ended before anyone was lvl 5 because of this.

I’ve backdoored one solo and it completely ignored me the entire time.

Well who wants to test how its priority targeting works?

It can target two enemies same time.
Who is a priority target: minions, Shepherd, fat minion, thrall, battleborn?
Does the sentry target based in line of sight, when being attacked or when a battleborn is being attacked?
Is there a priority based in any of above?
Does the sentry targets a healer while only healing?
If 5 battleborn attack or are in LoS from dif distance who is targeted first?

I am. it’s always me. Every. Single. Time.

New incursion is still a stall-fest for evenly matched teams that is decided by who wins the teamfight at 1:30. All the change did is make it easier to win if you are better then your opponent.

I want to echo the comments about consistency. It honestly feels like you can get a dud sentry, a body-blocking suicidal dullard who elicits as much on-mic groaning and lamenting as if he were a terrible team member feeding kills. And then there’s the frenzied sentry - the one that triple-snipes you at the back of lane in Monuments the moment you poke your eager little face out of mid.

And it’s so much easier to dodge that beam now it’s a laser light show. I am the One.

Exactly, the new Incursion is lame compared to how it was. There’s no need to go for thralls. Might as well just remove them from this mode. Regular minions and fat bot do their job just fine. The window of opportunity when 1-2 opponents went for double thralls and thus left their remaining teammates vulnerable for a wipe is long gone.

I see… he meant a character change and not an actual Incursion mode change.

Lots and lots of comebacks in incursion. My favorite part about it is the relative lack of snowballing even when your team is down.

And no…games don’t just end in 5 or 10 minutes…especially if they are with two relatively evenly matched teams.

Losing your first sentry is not the end of the world at all if your team focuses.

Yes thralls are important.

One sentry and buffing is a very extreme change in more ways than 10…if it aint broke…don’t fix it (see - meltdown changes)?

I am for increasing the intelligence of the sentries though for sure

Strength of the minions I think is awesome right now. Most people i know love that theyve been buffed. Of course, there will be complainers. And then if they get weakened, the ones who wanted them weakened will be happy again and the ones that liked them buffed will complain. It’s a no-win vicious cycle.

There is only one reason why we need minions like this: EXP

When minions died in one nade or spillar it was harder and harder for assassin to get lvls, fights became tdm and matches usually stayed still untill the last minute trying to deal 1 Point dmg to the sentry.

I rly love the changes to incursion and probably going to love changes to meltdown

But ya know… ā€œNow you actually have to focus the objectiveā€

Yeah. For two minutes… After the minion change it’s not at all unusual to win a match before… level 3…
