Sergeant Demobird trophy (3rd new character leaked)

Thanks! I’d never actually seen this, but had heard it discussed.

I feel pretty good about the assumptions that Nova in Robot Suit is that big burly automaton. I mean, even having that dialogue in Saboteur is a big ol’ Chekov’s Gun loading. I expect I’ll enjoy that large, imposing frame having Nova’s feminine, occasionally goofy voice originating from it. “Tee hee hee, AWAY MISSIONS!”

The Jennerit character looks kind of juvenile, maybe? The body proportions kind of incline me to think this, the head seems big for the body. Of course, if these are in scale, then the character is a giantess it seems. Even being further back in the frame, she’s pretty darn big if these are in scale (which it looks like the front three are, at least.)

I’m a bit fuzzy on some of the Lenore Lore details, does it ever specify if she was Sustained at an early age, a Child Empress or something? It could explain the somewhat juvenile appearance a bit. As for the possibility she’s very large, maybe the Jennerit royal line just has enhanced physical characteristics and stature?

Kinda looks like she’s rocking the same “prosthetic/augmented clobbering arm” we see from Attikus and Rendain on the right side. Also the One-Winged Angel look, though I suppose that could be a backslung weapon of some kind, rather than a wing.

Neat!

Pretty sure the devs have said that the LLC robot isn’t Nova. Nova is something of a dark horse; they didn’t realize how popular she would be and how much people would clamor to be able to play her.

Really?

This gives me the sads.

Maybe now that they know we all dig the heck out of Nova, they’ll just install her personality into the other Robot’s mechanics.

I mean, Nova’s personality could fit just about any kind of character. She’d just be enthused to be on the battlefield, doing whatever she is doing, whether it’s supporting or being elbows deep in the spraying viscera of meat-based foes.

It’s actually Bombirdier.

Because character design = bird puns.

I’ll be Super happy if one of his abilities is to drop one of those Black cartoon looking bombs that blows up with a wide area AOE explosion

Too late for a grass roots campaign to make Ernest a badger?

…Didn’t I just see a new holographic of Nova in the new Snow map?

Emphasis on “new Snow map”. During late development (e.g. after they had the first 25 battleborn and were in the process of designing the first 5 DLC battleborn), the devs didn’t realize how popular Nova was going to be so it didn’t occur to them to make her a playable character. They realize it now because, we, as a community, have made it pretty obvious we love her and would love playing her, so it makes sense that they would include a bit more development of her (especially since she’s liable to be one of the first DLC characters in the next set).

Of course, the devs could just straight up be lying to us and have Nova planned as the LLC DLC character so that they can spring her release on us as a surprise. Crafty devs is crafty, ya know.

I really hoped that the bird would be female, so that I’d finally get my non-human looking female character. They barely exist in any game…
Oh well.
I’m rooting for the big robot to be female now. I hope Gbx won’t let me down there.

same, i’m pretty disappointed we have a third aviant who is assumed to be male (Currently hoping that even with a name like ernest, the aviant is a woman)… the upr and game in general honestly didn’t need ANOTHER bird dude, kinda makes it feel like galilea was let into the boys club now if this is true

Looks like he’s holding a mine. I hope it’s an actual set-and-forget mine and not the activated sort that just tends to piss off players that dare close in on their user.

wow, nice find. So he (she?) 's pink as a default colour then? Interesting. With the grenade launcher and the general look of the character, may be the first UPR character I’m really interested to play.

Since it definitely looks like Ernest’s bread-and-butter primary attack will be with that grenade launcher, I wonder if it’ll just be a pull and fire, or will the basic attack set up the “ground AoE” firing aim like Mike or Whiskey’s grenades?

That’d be REALLY interesting, IMO. Two trigger pulls required to even fire a round, and it’d make Ernest one of the most difficult characters to play mechanically, but I’d have to imagine the waveclear potential would be plain silly.

Probably silly wave clear anyway, even if it’s just a single-trigger lobbed grenade that you can’t specifically aim.

Anyone else think that thing on Ernest’s back might be some kind of Aerial Drone? It looks like it has a nose cone for flight, and the side flaps could unfold into wings.

A mine-laying remote drone that you pilot like a slower Boomsday would be a pretty cool Ultimate, I feel like. Great for area control, I’d expect.

The brilliant UHF reference almost makes up for the fact that you seem to disagree that Ernest would be better served by badger form as opposed to avian.
