Where do we put the code, I tried on Steam and it didn’t seem to work.

In the main menu in game there’s a tab called Extras. Click that, and then there’s something to the effect of SHiFT codes. Click that. You may need to make a SHiFT account, but that’s where you put in whatever SHiFT codes they release.
