Longbow takes a bit of getting used to, but it’s worth climbing the learning curve. One thing you can do is to always aim slightly low, so if you miss, it will hit the ground
For general play, especially with transfusion, lobbed is still better than homing if you’re still not comfortable with Longbow.

Also, the great thing with transfusions is that it has built in homing, so the initial throw is only to get it to go off… And homing are the worst at that, as they tend to just circle endlessly. The sooner it hits something (anything), the better.
What longbows allow you to do is to pick your target more precisely, and they’re the fastest to go off… Otherwise, a lobbed is a good second choice.
