The firebreathing Jabbers I have noticed just instantly down Fl4ks pets in the Cistern. I am guessing pets don’t have any kind of healthgating that the VH enjoys?
Due to no Guardian Ranks I’m finding that my survivability is much improved by fast swapping between my Rakk and Fade Away during play - Many times it buys me enough time for my creature to respawn, esp with cooldown perks…, and some health related anointments on a gun.
I can’t wait to open up the Gamma tree with higher XP cap… I might even have to power level a Gamma Rakk combo just for giggles…
When the UI actually works as fast as I want, I think I’ll be in bliss playing. It’s pretty close now even on Mayhem…
I don’t mean to sound unsympathetic, but it sounds like you all are running glass cannon fl4k builds. I have very very little issue with let going down. If you all want to run glass cannon, have you thought about using friend-bot class mod?

Personally, my pet hasnt died yet - n it was up nippin on annointeds; mind you my health regen is extremely high right now and pets getting 100% of it plus WRW bonus, if your built around fl4k cannon then its to be expected… building with pet in mind tends to keep it alive more often; plus friendbot revives are helpfull too

My Flak is fine, we’re talking about the pets. I can only use Jabber or the pet constantly dies

I never use jabber and my pet almost never dies except at beginning of Wotan fight on TVHM m4, and I have an FA crit build.

Sort of Mutated Defenses in the Master tree acts as a sort of healthgate and is really strong, your pet will heal up to full very quickly after taking a big hit.

Then yours has better AI than my spiderant did, he just ran forward into enemies the furthest point away in any battle leaving him in stupid spots to revive. Hence my change to Jabber.

I love it when you are like:
Jabber rocket swarm them!
Jabber,…
Jabber?
Ok Jabber,…
DUDE PUT DOWN THAT BARREL! You have been doing nothing the past 2 minutes except looking for barrels. While I am impressed by your strength, and the fact that you ‘think’ you are helping, I am going to blow up barrels in the area so you don’t get any smart ideas,… k buddy?

i ran spidy, she was pretty good, switched to jabber, for the crit damage bonus, haven’t changed back, but never used the skag, i’ve seen it do pretty good for other fl4ks though running gamma builds in the circles of slaughter

Firebreathing Jabbers are completely broken. I’m also pretty sure that their flame attack hits several times, thus circumventing healthgate.

Are you playing at MM4? I play at MM1, and haven’t noticed them being particularly soft (though maybe I haven’t been in the same situation). I do have many points in their various healing skills (particularly All My BFFs, so I focus on my own healing and the pet benefits), and I usually pack a COM with some amount of health regen too.
THIS! i was trying to mayhem4 farm the new legendary class mod for fl4k today, the trial of cunning. ffs i tried all of the pets they cant even hold on to life agains a single tink. For a moment i go down and my jabber was on the cooldown too, a psycho come at me and started doing the spin melee move while i was on the ffyl my jabber spawned and died instatly to one turn of the pycho.
FL4K was like: good to see you back… my beast is down!

Because pets’ damage can’t make a dent when the trash mobs have thousands to hundreds of thousands HP, their onky role is to attract aggro and provide a passive bonus. Thus, they should be made immortal or close to. Otherwise, we will miss the benefit of the pet when we need it most, leaving the pet class at disadvantage.

Your best bet for farming that place is going to be a Gamma Burst build with Red Fang imo. It’s pretty easy with a Gamma build and a Dictator.

no my pets almost never die. the only time they get downed is when theyre reviving me against a boss with tons of aoe attacks. m4 they die even less than m3.
i can use any of them and they almost never get downed or die. im guessing youre not using any of the green tree skills since thats how I keep them alive
how did you build your skills?

Same… it’s actually sort of interesting when I see their health bar going down, as I get a chance to see the healing skills in action. Usually what kills them for me is when they take a hit from those slow moving pink bombs from the Anointed fellas… like those are a guaranteed FFYL anyway, so I get it (and the pet just hangs out and eats them.

I use a Red Fang COM and a shield with “Brimming” in my setup for my Master FL4K. Alternatively, I have a Terror anointment setup. Anyways, my Skag is really tanky. Sometimes in M3/M4 SS, I just stand on top of a trailer and watch 4 Badass Zealots shoot rockets at my Skag. Sometimes, he dies, but most of the time, he tanks like a champ. So, I recommend investing in BFFs and Who Rescued Who. The regen from Turn Tail is also good.
