How is it op to have a head piece…?
Depends on what it has, really. Like I said before, though, I’d rather have hoods and circlets together,
I still have a grudge agianst USKP because they do balancing patches and seem to forget that Skyrim is a single player game and theres no reason to balance items, nobody is forcing anyone to for example use Necromage as a Vampire…
As I mention above I too want all hooded robes to be able to have circlet with them and maybe even taking it as far as being able to use all hoods and circlet togther.
Anyways, I tried another latency test with Jaxonz Diagnostics, and it turns out that the latency actually directly depends on framerate. It made quite a difference between 50 and 75FPS.
So, if I get a GPU capable of running the game at 75FPS in more places than my measly Radeon HD 7770, I should logically get less latency everywhere. My CPU is already doing pretty good.
Are you using the patch and want Necro Vamps again? I believe there is a mod that unpatches that on Nexus, don’t know if it’d work with the latest patch but it probably should.
How many PCI slots do you have left (well, slots in general also since not all cards are only 1 slot width anymore)
Well, the only other slot that would fit a GPU in my mobo is an x8 slot (which has nothing in it), and my AMD Radeon HD 7770 is in the x16, then I have 2 PCIe x1 slots, one covered by my GPU, the other with a wireless card in it, and 2 PCI slots that are open. So, I basically only use the PCIe x16 and PCIe x1 slots. I plan to get a video card to replace my 7770, however, so I only plan on using those two slots, so far.
I know about the patch but I think you missed the point.
Also using SkyRe so no Necromage perk to begin with.
Hmm… I don’t know many AMD cards that could handle a heavily modded Skyrim by itself but I bet if you could get SLI/CrossFire you could do it but that’d be a last resort really (IIRC it’d go down to X8 on both or less, depending on whether or not your Mobo had it in mind). I do know that my SLI 780 can handle it but I don’t know for sure if a single could do all the mods I have but since you’re already using the lower res textures I bet one could do fine.
You don’t like the fact that they patch stuff that doesn’t necessarily need patching or is questionable (vamp+necro and the Khajiit chests that are available for looting) right? I seem to recall you saying so in the skyrim thread on the old forum but I didn’t think you knew about the undopatch patch for necro.
What? Why? I think I won’t be using that mod then, not that it’s installed or downloaded mind you.
Edit: In other news I think I goofed something up (caves and other indoor dungeons have a greenish tint in the distance that allows me to see the walls and such at distances where I shouldn’t) Hoping it’s just a mod not being installed correctly or something and not some bad .ini tweaking.
Edit 2: Hmm… I think it’s just generic indoor dungeon stuff (uninstalled every mod and made a beeline to Markarth from the gold I got from chopping wood) so maybe I’ll reinstall the indoor part of Enhanced Lights and FX even though they can be a bit too dark at times and I don’t like running around with 20 torches or having to cast magelight every 5 minutes, I sneak but if I can’t even see 2 feet in front of me it’s a bit hard to tell if that’s a table with nothing on it or a table with a pair of daedric gloves on it.
My case is only big enough to handle most higher end midranged GPUs, so I’m likely to get the best size/price/performance ratio GPU I can when I have the money. I have the Cooler Master HAF XB Evo case, if you’re curious.
Also, keep in mind that I use a 1440x900 monitor, not a 1080p or above. My brother’s R9 270, heavily overclocked got a near perfect 75FPS (his game was modded more than mine, so it stuttered in a few areas, but it would’ve been perfect otherwise) at 1440x900 when he showed it off to me, so I could see what good it would do to my system. Of course though, it looked really bad off of a 1080p monitor at 60hz, all of that tearing…
By the way, most world objects and landscapes look pretty good with 1K textures in 1440x900. The maximum I’d actually need for said things to have no pixelation would be 2K textures. I could go higher than that, since my resolution isn’t that high, allowing me to use more of my VRAM.
That case looks weird, or at least different from any other I’ve ever seen although having the Mobo horizontal would reduce any stress on the card (as far as weight goes at least). I think a GTX 980 might fit (the case is wide enough but I’m not certain how much clearance you actually have since the Mobo goes on the top “shelf” right?) and the 980 are supposed to be more power efficient than the 780 while still about as good as far as graphic power goes but considering the size of your monitor I definitely think a 780 would suffice but finding one might be a problem now (didn’t immediately pop up on Newegg, had to look through my order history to find it and it says it might not be restocked)
This relates to Skyrim (for on topicness) because graphics and such.
I’m limited on money, so Nvidia cards are generally out of my price range if I want good performance for the price, unless those cards actually beat AMD equivalents in price/performance.
Yeah can’t really help you too much, don’t know enough to compare AMD stuff to the Nvidia equivalent or vice versa.
In other news it’s not the shadows in caves making the weird color, it’s the indoor ambient fog. Time to find a way to slay the beast (I don’t like the cave fog at all, it’s just doesn’t look right to me in that it’s a bit too bright or at least in the cave with Nime. I do however like the dwarven ruin right before the cave section)
Yeah, the interior fog looks very ugly in Skyrim. Try this mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/29253/?
Death Star moon mod
If it had a chance to pop up instead of outright replacing the moon I’d like it more. As is might try it but not likely (rather have realistic stuff right now than fun stuff like flying spaceships)
Sorry I meant that I use SkyRe.
Yea, bla bla ots a single player game and no body is forcing you to use the “glitches”.
Im gonna shut up about it now.
Also #doublepost
So I updated all new unofficial patches and went in game and tested the Archamge hooded robes with a circlet and I could wear a circlet under it… okay
Im guessing because SkyRe chances the robe it overwrites the chance, so yaaaaay eat that USKP team!

Also tripple post ftw!
Are you serious? They must’ve played around with the enchantment on it for SkyRe.
If you read my comment you will see that its my theory too…
Btw SkyRe chances the magnitude of Arch Mage robes enchantment to 20%
True, true.
Anyways, I’m frustrated at ENB’s Skylighting feature. I can get some areas to look nice and pretty with it, like around Whiterun, Solitude, Markarth, or Falkreath, but Riften and any snowy area just turns the sky completely white with my current settings. If I darken it, all of the areas mentioned earlier will look bad. It’s a pain, really.
