So are they ever going to fix this game like they promised

I highly doubt that the content they release next or announce next will be actual fixes to the game because as we all know that doesn’t bring in revenue. I know I learned my lesson with anything from this company in the future. No fixes to the XB1X console crashes, splitscreen is still a mess.

“Yeah I’m aware of your new game and I have looked into it but as for purchasing it, not at this time.”

I also bought it to play splitscreen coop with my gf (PS4), and we all know how terrible that turned out to be. She had to buy a copy just so we could play together and that was a bit of a lagfest so she didn’t enjoy it too much because of those issues. I ended up doing the dlc’s solo because she lot interest, and we had spent 100’s of hours playing BL & BL2 together previously, so that just about sums this game up for me unfortunately.

I waited two months until BL3 was available for 30€ instead of 70€. Saved a lot of money but in the end I wouldn’t miss the game if I haven’t bought it. Would like to play with less loading times and less level raises. Wish I had wait for release of the ps5…

I guess I’ve been lucky then- only had one hard crash a couple of months in and things have been fine since. I play solo so sorry for those that play co-op. The only real technical issue I have with the game (I play on XBox One) is the loading screen, which at just about 3 minutes is unforgivable for a game today. Heck, even the old PC 5 1/4 in. floppy disk games didn’t take that long to load (and I’ve played plenty on my old C64 to compare that to). I got the deluxe version as a gift so I can’t even complain about having spent money on it, but I will say this: it’s usually better to wait for the first GOTY edition of a game you have doubts about rather than buying day 1 and hoping things turn out well.

Playing on PS4 Pro with a SSD solo is not bad at all. 4 player co-op can turn into a slideshow though. Still hoping Gearbox does the right thing and does free next gen enhancements to bring it on par with PC.

I definitely feel that. I have a room mate who used to play the other games with me all the time, but with this one they have been way less keen on it because of the poor performance, lack of vertical splitscreen, and crashing on almost every co op session without fail.

We still play the previous title as we just enjoy playing together and there are few games which offer this kind of co-op experince on the PS4 that we can or are willing to play together, it is a real shame with Borderlands 3, as the gameplay seemed great, we did like everything else about it, just wasnt what we wanted or expected form the series in terms of co-op, really wish i hadnt preordered it on blind faith. DLC pass has sat unused and the game hasnt been touched since October/November last year.
Just left annoyed about it all, more so with the look towards more DLC while there are so many outstanding issues especially with the console releases and more so with the local co-op experience they have been known for.
Said it before in another thread but i honestly feel they have given up on the local co-op side and phoned it in for series continuity inline with other main stream/popular FPS titles, woudlnt suprise me at all that if there is a BL4 it will online co-op only.
Id say i woudlnt pre order a game from either GBX or 2K but honestly dont think ill pre-order another game period, now prefer to wait, maybe check out a lets play and see if it something i or we would actually enjoy playing.

Yeah we resorted to playing the older games in the series and other games that run co-op locally or online better. Like yourself my game has been collecting dust, albeit not as long as you have but I haven’t played the last DLC that came out and this one will also just automatically download to my XB1X and do nothing more (only reason for this is because I foolishly purchased the Super Deluxe Sucker Beta Edition). Also I certainly will not be purchasing anything from GBX or 2k in the future either. It’s a shame because the wife and myself enjoyed the 3 previous entries very much. Seems to me the GBX just pretty much shat on their long time customers with this half@ssed attempt followup because there is no way this game was tested as it should of been. Now content rules over actual gameplay fixes.

Probably not. It is stuck with Mayhem 2.0 problems for life.

The lag isn’t that bad on console honestly after you’ve been playing for about 10 minutes, the problems with the game is less the performance, more the lack of listening to the bigger problems that people are getting annoyed at (lack of changing modifiers or turning them off, the skill tree bugs, guardian takedown design, etc)
They could fix all of the problems this game has with some very minor adjustments, but they decide not too.

As for lag, the problem causing it is all the screen clutter and effects, if they bothered to render those on console less during combat or intense moments then the lag would be far more bearable for those it annoys.

Nope,as others have said there is no financial gain in actually fixing the game, content sells and is the priority as it has been for awhile. GBX already has our money on the purchase of the game now is the time they focus on getting more money from their customers, hence why performance issues have gone unresolved now for close to a year. As I said in other threads I think there is some small print in the game box that states, “Upon purchase of this game you agree to be an unpaid beta tester for the GBX corporation.”
