Granted it’s not true take down , but the scaled one, but man was it a long time in the making .
Those of you who have seen my posts might have noticed a pattern over the last couple of months… asking expert advice about mods and shields and grenades etc , because try as I might I could neber beat Wotan with my good old Deathless Bloodletter build.
The recent buffs helped for sure ( especially IBs nukes), but today not only did I finally beat Wotan , but did it twice too. A month ago it seemed so daunting.
Not sure if I’m interested in true takedown but you never know

Grats dude!
You can brute force solo the TTD, but it is not a pleasant experience. It is really only for highly optimized builds that can make up for the higher mob count and bigger health pools.

It sounds really unappealing . I like to play for fun and from what I understand to beat TTD with Moze you need a very specific set of bonus splash ASE on specific weapons, a good blast master mod, and constantly jumping in and out of IB to do bursts of damage and wash rinse repeat.
Bleh… not my cup of tea even though I’m 99% sure I have all the gear needed to do so
Noo it isn’t that crazy of gear or playstyle needed. However, I feel a lot of people wouldn’t find it fun or bother striving to complete it in TTD. It’s a different ballgame, it’s mostly used as a way to test min-max builds and squeezing everything out of gear and skills. It’s fun, I enjoy it, but I still prefer regular Takedown unless I feel like cursing and quitting for the night.

Well done cobs, how much did your build have to change?
If you are asking me , my skill tree not so much, but completely overhauled my class mod and relic as well as the recent moze and IB buffs helped a ton

grats!
before the IB buff, my go to M4 (scaled) takedown builds are lucky 7 + green tree, anarchy + green tree (so you won’t kill yourself with reload) and sapper+hyperfocus/redistributor

Congrats!
It will become easier and easier as you continue to try. The first TD took me weeks, now that I’ve learned the spawns and the phases of the enemies (along with some clever tactics) I can clear TTD even with not really optimized builds (but it is a pain in the ass ofc, and not really worth it if not for the challenge).
You will get a sense of what works for you and what doesn’t on your build, and if you farm accordingly you will find yourself clearing TTD in no time, trust me.

Not exaclly.
I beat TTD with 1hp build on My Moze before GBX added Anarchy to the game with recent dlc.
Now with Anarchy it’s even easier.
I did TTD yesterday with a Moze Radiation Build. Can confirm. It was not fun. Really painful and long and drawn out.
I killed Wotan on my 4th run. But it was painful.
Take down scaled is that sweet spot of challenge and enjoyment honestly.

Also, that is the way the TD was designed for, when scaled. To challenge yourself and your build is fun, but we are still talking about a content designed for 4 optimized players.
Not everything has to beat TTD to be deemed good. Quite the opposite, some builds might be overspecialized for TTD and fall short in other scenarios.

A highly optimized build is not the same as having perfect gear. It is more about getting the most out Moze’s damage math.

Congrats. For me I’m consistently beating solo TTD with Splash Moze after I figured out the boss & mob mechanics, and then finding the best suitable setup to address that in solo TTD.
At this point I find solo TTD to be more enjoyable because it’s not too easy and not too difficult either (at my current build and experience). The only thing that annoys me is when Amara and Zanes zips up things in coop. Whenever that happens, I popup my x20 Anarchy

Same (except the anarchy thing). I can do TTD with Moze now pretty easily but i’m using the most meta build ever.
Scourge/Nukem/Redistributor for crowd control, boom sickles/faisors with ch annointment for 1 v 1, Cloning Maddening Tracker to stay alive + apply fire dots, Pearl for extra damage, Redline + Some for the Road to destroy Wotan double shield phase, etc, etc.
I’m now totally bored with the challenges in the game : (. I’m looking into making a Moze build with only items that you are guaranteed to get just by playing the base game. Which may not work out since you’re not guaranteed any particular class mod iirc

That’s why I insist on using builds that are fun and dont pigeon hole you into a specific set if weapons or play style or pattern and just see how far I can take my build . The current build I’m running with mind sweeper and a mix of all 3 skill trees isnt meta or anything, but it allows me to use any weapon I want and benefits IB too.
My guess is scaled Takedown is the limit of my build and you know what? I’m totally fine with that

I’ve managed it a few times with Drone & Clone Zane and one with a Railgun/Splash Moze build.
Tried my best with FL4K and Amara but it’s just not happening for me yet.
Got both up to level 57 today so may attempt another stab at it this evening.
When your cooldown finally hits zero in Wotan’s last phase-
