So, we are getting an other level cap?

Some people are borderland obsessive about getting the right gun with a good roll and the perfect annointement

There’s nothing wrong with that. I’d find it weird if someone is obsessed with farming and farming again the same crappy, non-anointed gun who can’t go past Mayhem 3

im not really obsessed about that
i just dont want to find it and then a few weeks later, its useless crap

The goal is to keep ppl playing the game.

Thats all this is folks. A lame way to keep ppl interested in this game.

yep, lame it is!

but that’s not realy the biggest problem  sure they need to find a way to keep this game fun (still can’t put my finger on what BL2 did so good that BL3 fails so hard with) but they keep changing the game so much

they where talking about them wanting people to experiment with diffrent builds… then they allmost force you into the same cookiecutter builds through mods… (i’m saying forced as with zane for example, nothing beats his latest mod… the others don’t come close and the new one is pretty useless… shock damage? please… worst element in the game…)

Given that the next Takedown is guardian themed and given that guardians are weak to shock shock is about to shine!

Please not. Maliwan TD is already filled with shock weak enemies. I want a TD that’s weak against fire or corrosive.

If it’s another shock TD, I will be SHOCK! (Pun intended)

No… they REALLY haven’t.

The menus still suck.

They nerfed great items into vendor trash.

They ruined numerous skills.

Other things:

They nerfed the living sh1te out of drop rates.

They nerfed the hell out experience gains.

How about 'dem sexy slide anointments?

CrashBox.

Borked 3 level cap raise.

Even more nerfs… now to the new guns.

Event only items.

The game is bad.

It is incredible that Gearbox had the audacity to release it as a successor to TPS, much less BL2, far less BL1.

Yup.

It is lazy, and badly done.

It makes perfect sense, if you’re not being deliberately obtuse.

He said that there are too many guns that flatout suck, and are not viable. One might just infer that he wants more viable guns; possibly a smaller pool of utterly sucky ones from which to have a .000000000000% chance to fish a viable one with a ■■■■■■ anointment, .00000000000000000000000% chance to get a viable anointment not for his character, much less his build, and HAX% of getting what he actually wants.

I don’t understand. You caring about those guns meant all the others weren’t worth using? [/quote]

I’m not the only one who looks at a large swath of guns and says:

Those are trash. I wont even bother to pick them up, OR if I recognize the model, they’ll lay on the ground.

I’m not debating that meta exists, and that it SHOULD exist for content like TTD. I’m not opposed to this.

But to have a mayhem mode, like M4, where you are now at the hardest difficulty the game has to offer, shouldn’t make 95+ % of the drops trash. But yet, here we are.

Regarding Viability, Define “Plenty”. Because I’m willing to bet that you leave plenty of perfect anoint rolled epics and legendaries lay on the ground in M4, because they are: TRASH.

I agree that there is a larger pool than BL2, but that speaks more to the over dependence on slag in BL2, than the successes of the current system.

I’m not trying to speak for all players. For me, having 6 weeks to get back up to level, and get geared, so that I can again try the last content on my list of things to do, before the next level cap just isn’t enough time.

I was unhappy with the first level cap increase.
BUT I was unhappy that they had just run us through almost 2 months of farming events (Boss / Rare Spawn / Red Chest), and then immediately raised the level cap.

It made those farming events useless. Why bother giving a farming event, if at the end of it, you’re going to make all of that gear player’s just spent massive amounts of time farming, useless.

There isn’t a magic formula, you’re right. But the formula shouldn’t be:

Immediately following back to back events where the community was told: “FARM! THIS IS YOUR CHANCE!”

Or 6 weeks after the previous level cap increase.

Except, that they specifically said that they were looking to make this more apparent in BL3 during the Borderlands Show. They went out of their way to mention that this wasn’t something that they wanted to do, because of the way that the skill trees are designed in BL3, and skill points are far more valuable. They spent 10+ minutes talking about how this was going to be a “thing” in BL3, and then less than 6 weeks later, they did something that they had mentioned they weren’t sure they wanted to do:

Gave us enough skill points to get 2 capstones.

That’s my frustration. They specifically said this was something that they were apprehensive about, and then with little more than a wave of the hand, without much explanation on why they went with the change, they did a 180, and gave us more than enough points to Capstone 2 trees.

For some characters (Moze), it may make her more fun to play for people. I love the idea of the character, but I hate the current playstyle of spamming Iron Bear, just to exit, so that you can get back to doing this with target softening Auto Bear.

Maybe this will change my mind.

Zane is going to be weird, because of all the people that I watch / follow that play Zane, I’m the only person that seems to enjoy Clone & Drone.

Fl4k will be interesting. because 2 of his capstones aren’t utter trash.

I’m not sure about Amara. Of the 4, she is the one I’m least versed in.

Sure but items like that exist in every game. If something is top tier, something has to be bottom tier. I’m just saying I think there are a good number of rares and epics that can still be perform well and legendaries that have a niche use at the very least. I’m sure there are more than 5-7 really good guns for Fl4k/Zane, even if they’re not necessarily meta load-out worthy.

Like I’m not sure where you’re getting 95%+ of the drops are trash though. They just had a string of recent buffs, among them one to an entire category of weapons (Dahl Assault Rifles). That seemed pretty effective. I can honestly say I found myself enjoying more weapons and their individual mechanics in this game than any other past one while leveling up. And I’m still finding more as I play.

I mean, we only so much inventory space so I tend to leave a lot of stuff on the ground yeah. Mostly when they’re doubles of things I already have (I usually pick up most legendaries with good anoints to have 1 of each). But I did a pick-up only run through M4 Athenas with no inventory except what I could find and got through on blues and purples (with good anointments) fairly well. I got an unanointed Hellshock that I used to kill Traunt. It wasn’t the fastest run by any means but it got the job done in a reasonable amount of time. That’s all viable means to me. There are certain weapons I consider outright terrible like a lot of snipers and CoV weapons, however.

Do you think more across the board buffs on specific weapon types would be a good idea? I’d like that myself.

Alright, I understand why you’d be frustrated if that much emphasis was put on it. I can only speculate but it’s possible they decided to balance the access to two capstones around Mayhem 2.0 being a lot closer now and changed their mind based off that.

so the exact same discussion running in circles is going to happen every level cap now ?

Pretty sure there was a poll last time around, and most of us did want the level cap increases.

I always want level cap increases. The timing doesn’t really matter because someone will always be upset they have to give up their current gear. 1 week, 1 month, 7 years…doesn’t matter. People will always find a way to complain about it, rather than just enjoy the game. It is an enjoyable game… I’ve played some terrible games out there. But at least we have fun re-farming.

depends on how accurate and how long you are farming for specific kinds of gear

I’m a fellow Clone/Drone player, we’re a rare and dying breed. I chose not to use the barrier since I find it pretty difficult to die with 24/7 life steal, and the clone is too much fun with heavy weapons

I still want a “level up your gear machine”.

That said I am much happier about 57 as a new level cap. That’s a game changer for me. It’s worth for me to play at level 57 a lot because two capstones at once really opens up new ideas for me.
