This one is easy.
Co-op and multiplayer.
While I agree you get a bit more visibility on your visual appearance in a 3rd person game, I believe many people still feel the value in expressing how they which to look to other live players.
Borderlands and TF2 have both shown that players really like this, even in first person.
And as MentalMars mentions, we’re doing some things to be sure you get to see your character in all of their glory, pulling out the camera on a few moves, on taunts, and being sure menus in the front end and character select show your character doin’ their thing!
