From my experience playing back in October and the open beta just a few days ago, I have noticed that some characters are way too broken, leading to one sided games. Melee characters seem like they are on a way higher tier than ranged characters. Galilea really caught my eye when my friend wiped the enemy team by himself. I also believe that the lack of mobility on most ranged characters just leaves them useless whenever they got jumped on by characters such as Rath or Galilea. I understand that it was a beta and things could easily be changed before the release, but personally I think the game in general seems like it needs a lot more for it to be worth $60.
not everything that works is ‘way OP’. if you let those melees jump on you as a ranged (say Marquis), you kinda deserve a death right?
Check this topic, it’s about this very issue. There are more factors than character abilities and values alone, like player skill and game knowledge to name just a few.
i agree galilea is a bit op… but ranged heroes most of them have some sort of escape mechanism… as a ranged hero u need to be aware of your surroundings. i have seen marquis players snipe the ■■■■ out of melee heroes. Isaac is also a pain … it is all about picking the right heroes in the end…but some champs do require a bit of buffing and nerfing… all in due course of time.
