Something I would like to see changed

I really feel like your abilities and your primary attack should go through your teammates. Maybe even go as far as you not having collision with your teammates at all. In my eyes this game is a moba and I would image that once people get really into it we will see a lot more team fighting. The tanks role is to protect the squishy and that would put them in front of carries a lot but the carry can’t shoot through them (and the tanks are massive). This forces the carry to try to move away from the people protecting them.

I’m interested to hear other opinions on this.

I’ve also noticed bigger (and sometimes even the smaller) teammates getting in the way of abilities. There is a slight “Learn 2 Play” aspect at play, but there is really no way for even a more skilled player to react if a teammate jumps in front of their ability just as they are about to use it.

The problem is, though, that smaller players could hide behind bigger characters and attack from there. Enemies might not even be able to see the enemy player hiding behind their teammate!

I think the latter would be a much more frustrating situation.

Yeah when i’m trying to snipe enemies in a crowd my guys are always jumping and negating my shots.

A friend of mine who mostly plays Benedict is constantly complaining about people blocking his rockets. But then again I can see that if shots werent blocked by teammates, as soon as you step out, getting immediately blown up by every enemy firing through each other. Or maybe it wouldnt? As far as i can remember no other FPS has your shots blocked by teammates.

Would love to see no collide with teammates. Getting boxed in by bots or your own tanks is the worst way to die.

yep. it sucks.

Hmm, I think it would take actual play testing and not just theorizing to figure out what the effect of removing hitboxes from teammates would be?

There are FPS games that block shots though. I don’t play many, but CoD does this. Is this also in Borderlands? The thing is, in a lot of FPS games it’s not nearly as noticeable.

most games don’t have such a large concentration in a small area.

I think this is very different from other FPS games. In Borderlands it makes sense to spread out so you aren’t getting hit with a bunch of aoe. I agree that it needs testing but it really does seem like a change that needs to happen.

Absolutely not. Think about what that would mean for people shooting at you for just a moment.

What do you mean? I said bullets would only go through your teammates.

And on the other team? How about the Marquis standing behind Montana or Isic annihilating you? And if there were no collision with teammates, smaller characters could stand inside the hitbox of larger ones.

I wouldn’t mind seeing no collision with abilities and primary attacks, but body blocking should stay in.
You say that this is a moba to you and that’s why you shouldn’t collide with allies, but in every moba I have played, you collide with your allies unless you have a skill or item that allows you to pass through them.

I mean the sniper shouldn’t be hitting your carries though the tanks should be out in front ccing and soaking up damage like they are supposed to.

no matter how many times i tell the same friends when they get a big or melee to please remember to run down the side or attack on the side. they still stand in front and block the attacks from all us shooters and as benedict this is so frustrating

I think it is fine as is. More realistic and takes more skill than shooting through your own teammates. It does still happen to me and gets annoying, but at the same time I wonder how many times it has saved my life.

Seriously, this is the stupidest thing I have ever heard being suggested in these forums (and the amount of stupid suggestions coming in every day is extravagantly high).

Has anyone thought for a single moment what that means when it comes to survivability and ranged damage output? Orendi, Oscar Mike and Marquis will totally obliterate anyone. For God’s sake, Orendi’s Paradigm Shift or Thorn’s Ultimate behind a Shayne or a Montana would be unstoppable. If your allies keep on coming in front of your shoots, either they suck or you are characterised by an inability to position yourself properly on the battlefield. For example, the corner on the Overgrowth map, just before the center of the map is not a good spot, you will obviously have teammates running in front and interrupting you.

So much this ^^.
Positioning is important part of this game. When people will learn not to set up in a line, but choose angles to have better shots and make enemies turn and spread their fire, then they will not have problems with shots/abilities not passing through allies.
So in other words - it’s good how it is. Because, what you are suggesting would be so easy to exploit and make game boring as hell. Imagine:
Montana in front, Miko behind him healing and then 3 ranged attackers behind (Toby, Isic, Thorn, etc.), just spamming shots throug Miko/Montana. And the same on the enemy team.
