I think the post games stats in PvP would benefit from damage done being more specific. I believe this would give a more dynamic understanding of what players were focusing on and both types of damage are important. Currently I think damage done being combined allows people to only look at KDA for player performance.
while i agree that there does need to be a reworking of the stat sheet, i have pretty much just let it go. and i have several reasons for this, but one main one: the stat sheet doesn’t really matter. i want to win the game. there is currently a stat for minions killed, and enemy turrets destroyed, and enemy buildables destroyed, but no stat for how many minions you escorted to the grinder. that is literally the only stat that matters in meltdown, and yet it is not represented on the sheet. screw it, i guess. i will leave the stat sheet for the kids that think this is CoD or destiny. im playing battleborn. i am here to win games.
i tested the score sheet one game against a team that was running death match type playstyle. for whatever reason one game a team stacked all 5 players for the most part on one side of the map, with the occasional person poking at me from top mid. i was left completely alone to take out all their minions on that side, take out the accelerator, and both their turrets. i escorted literally probably a record amount of minions into the grinder almost completely uncontested. at the end of the game the sheet said i had 12points. that was because i had 3 kills, no deaths, and 6 assists. i literally scored enough points by myself to ensure victory, but 12 were on the sheet. we smoked that team. thats all that matters
I agree with this, the more detailed info you get post-game the easier it is for the community in general to hone skill and accrue knowledge. I usually like to befriend people that I play with that do particularly well and this makes it much easier to tell which players know what they are doing and also helps new players determine where they are lacking.
The information is useful regardless of the outcome.
i agree. my assumption is that trying to properly keep track of who lead the minions into the grinder would be difficult to do accurately
I had something like this on incursion map with the Thrall Camps. I put well over 9 Thralls on the battlefield for my team but my points SUCKED because I was not killing minions myself or in much of the team fights. However my team won due to wave after wave of Thralls which I added to help us push.
I like it +1
I think there are additional benefits to this change as you could see more objective data to your load outs/talent and if they are providing the boosts you want.
I feel that the stat sheet, though it shows a lot of…weird information (Like damage dealt to an overshield), it lacks in a lot of areas, and this would be one of the beginnings to giving more useful information.
It’s helpful to see what people were actually doing all match, and also how effective you were. Because I’ve been surpised by my damage numbers quite a few times when I felt like I wasn’t really helping, or when I did feel helpful but my damage numbers were low.
We should perhaps compile a list of additional stats we’d like to see.
It might make the already large list a little overwhelming…but it might not be too hard to add a “Press (Button) to view advanced stats” thing. I dunno, I don’t make games, I just play them and write walls of text on forums.
Yeah, especially this early in the meta I am looking to find out how my build is truly helping. Am I getting much damage out of the DOT as Thorn? Is Hoodini actually getting much damage if I take cloak or is it colliding with walls? We track minion kills but that only seems to care about last hit. Did I have a good game as Marquis getting almost all assists? I see I did 30% more overall damage but was this to players or minions? Splitting the damage into distinct categories is a first step, Ideally I would like a advanced menu to see in depth stats for every point of damage (Marquis Passive, Miko DOTs, Thorn Dots, uptime on situational gear).
Another aspect to take away is if a person is concerned with constant improvement, currently they don’t know in what areas they are lacking.
These extra tracked stats don’t have to be so crazy we need a damn XLS to organize it…as is there is quite a bit of info more than most games. Look at a game like Battlefront (ya, I know it’s for the filthy casuals) the stats it tracks is so basic.
