Jumping and aiming at the same time is what weāre referring too.
Characters like Caldi, who require you jamming on the jump button constantly, gain a lot from being able to aim with the stick at the same time. You can only do that with a remap
I shall have to take your word for it, till I try it anyway
Also just to clarify, I was aware thatās what you were referring to.
Ah gotcha
But yeah itās physically impossible to do them at same time (sans using multiple fingers). You could switch back and forth as quickly as you can but you canāt have your thumb on A and right stick At the same time.
Nope. You can change how ýou hold the controller- you remap your hand if you will.
I use my index finger sometimes to jump while aiming and firing with my middle. Itās called the Claw.
Thatās what I meant
Trigger with your pinky seems painful
That must be what I do, honestly I have never thought about it
However I am running a Scuff, so I could map the A button to my right switch
Us humans need to evolve better gaming hands!
Ah, the good olā claw. Gears of war taught me this. Wall bouncing, dodging, and aiming all at the same time. Good times.
pinky? that would be tough. The claw isnāt hard though. Its weird at first, but not uncomfortable.
Or buttons on the backs of controllers
I use an elite controller, and I love having the jump button on an underside paddle. My only complaint is that after just under a year of use my right thumbstick drifts up. Still, it made spry sprite spray on thorn so much easier I started using the setup for everyone
Iām a pro SSBM player, so I can make my hands do anything.
I use standard controls and have no trouble jumping around and aiming.
That said Iām willing to try a re-map.
Nice
You have a casual and pro main?
Oh and DO a remap
Itās not a must but it helps quality of life a ton on certain characters
For Battleborn or Melee?
Battleborn I play most of the cast so whoever for ācasualā matches.
Mains would be Orendi, Phoebe, El Dragon, Ernest, Thorn, Montana, Pendles and S&A. It used to be Benedict until they changed his reload.
Melee Iām a fox main but again I play most of the cast reasonably well. I donāt play in what most people would consider a ācasualā setting lol.
Iām referring to a non tournament rep
I love me some Ganon and Iām pretty freakin phenomenal with him but I donāt take him to tournament. If I have to win no matter the cost itās Falco
Hence
Casual main: Ganon
Pro main: Falco
On topic
I jump/strafe/aim/attack with melees a lot and remapping helps tremendously. being able to jump and aim helps me get access to a bigger portion of their crit box as Iām above them and it makes me harder to crit as well.
So you compete in tournaments? If so what region and whatās your tag?
In friendlies I still usually play Fox to practice and hone my skills but I also play Marth, Falco, ICs, Samus and can play the whole cast decently (bar Yoshi).
I compete in Australia so our scene isnāt as strong as the US, but weāre not bad in a global context.
Iām a bit torn on the issue here, to be honest. On the one hand, regardless of the game Iām playing, in a PvP setting, Iām gonna try and win (because - guess what? - thatās how I have fun with a game). Harsh and unfair to them, maybe, but that how I like to bounce my ball (cough).
However, Iām not going to go out of my way to smash or discourage some newbies/lowbies, especially in PVE. So I communicate tips and tricks and stuff. Some newer players donāt know that Geoffās weakpoints are his āeyesā and also the joints in the back, or that the MX.Elite bot stopped moving because itās about to unleash a massive stun attack, or that Ambraās Sunspots are there to both damage enemies and heal allies (so f***ing help me, if another person runs from the Sunspotsā¦).
But in PvP, Iām sorry, but if youāre not on my team, you will find no mercy from me. Regardless of your CR, may the better player/team win.
Taunting⦠eh, depends on the taunt. I love having Toby freak out after getting a kill. Itās hilariously adorable.
SoCal
°XIV°
Iāve played NZ players a handful of times at different melee tournaments but never anyone out of Oz.
Iāve played against a few in online S4 tournies though
SoCal⦠man I envy you, the best region in the world for melee.
Iām friends with the Norwalk crew, Lucky, Mango, Alex, Johnny from their trips to Australia and Iād love to come out again. Oats is one of my good friends from your scene too.
One of my buddies DonB is comin out to SoCal next year to live for 12 months, so keep an eye out for him.
God I love Mango
I hate talking to him about melee
Heās like Kanye West(insert your own analogy)
Heās a genius but the problem is that he knows it. No one can beat him like he beats himself.
But fnck yeah I love to party with that guy.
