Sportsmanship, it's a good thing

yeah…if I hadn’t mentioned you play a clean game my friends were going to waste you(as a player), but when I mentioned you play clean you got a pass and I was using my build cost reduction loadout, how’d you like all the giant minions?

Waste me? What do you mean?

hard focus, when we know a player on the enemy team(who’s less than savory) we focus them if they act out at all that we notice. but people who play clean we play clean against. sportsman behavior after all. like if I remember that match correctly they didn’t taunt you either(because you keep it clean and don’t try to stomp)

Ah.

Was I doing something bad to make you guys hard focus me?

Nope, we didn’t hard focus you because you play clean. All kills against you were the in good fun kind…although I lobbed a special incendiary your way…but Toby looked cold! I wanted to warm him up!

Hehehehe.

Cheers, my friend!

I’ve been a level 100 since a month or so after the game came out, and there have been about 4 matches that I did not die the most times (out of both teams) and score the lowest number of kills. I just get slaughtered every weekend, month after month. At this point the very act of signing on mocks me more than any player ever could. I don’t think the player level has much to do with being able to win multiplayer games, some people are just much better at it.

While that is certainly true, there’s a huge difference between winning with a little grace and class, and being a jerk

I’m an older gamer, and have been playing games since we had a “pong” machine hooked up to my parents black & white TV. I probably play a total of 8 hours every week, with maybe 3 of those being online multiplayer, but just am not in the same league as my opponents. Some nights it really is frustrating that I’ve spent my entire life playing games and just get tossed aside like paper by most opponents, other nights I’m able to just enjoy the experience. I usually average about 14-16 deaths per match and get 0-3 kills against other players.

I’m an older gamer as well. In mega twitch games like blops3, I feel at a huge disadvantage, though I do well enough, and am usually at least even in the K/D department. That being said, one of the things I love most about battleborn is that superior tactics, decision making, and forethought are just as, if not more, important than twitch reflexes.

I think it just comes down to people taking the games very seriously. I want to run around, take in all the amazing character designs and environments , try to blow some stuff up. There’s no casual league!

Does anyone know how I could submit a video of a match I played to get feedback on why I die so much?

What platform are you playing on?

I’m on a PS4.

If nothing else everyone could get a good laugh at my “skills”

Much appreciated, I just got 27 deaths and 1 kill on a meltdown match. So I would post on YouTube and just ask the public for advice? Or put a link to the vid back onto the gearbox forum?

Older gamer here as well: my first “console” was an Atari 2600. I then migrated over to the C64 and later the C128. I sorta miss those days…

Yep. Case in point:

The opposing team clearly outscored us, but we won that Capture match because we were able to capture more than one collector at a time, whereas they tended to move as one team to (re)capture each collector, generally only leaving Boldur to defend a collector. Sure Boldur’s hard to kill, but not if he’s being double and triple-teamed. :dukecigar:
