ST4CKBOT Question

One of my ideas was use the Hunter grenade for this but doesn’t that reset St4ckbot stacks?

Agreed. And I’m curious what non crit damage doesn’t reset St4ckbot. Could be really useful for what I’m doing.

It does reset them unfortunately … they do crit a lot but one non-crit is enough to lose them

Agrred. On both parts. Counter would be great. And I, too, believe they still reset on almost anything non-crit

So I updated my calculations and even with the diminishing returns, the additional 30% cooldown on a COM shaves another 7 seconds off FA cooldown. Still a nice chunk of time.

It does, but staying at max Stackbot stacks 24/7 is pretty unreasonable, especially without something that can loop Fade Away infinitely. Even with a x25 Stagecoach, not every pellet will crit and stackbot will reset.

You’ll find you have a lot more options if you look at the Stackbot bonus as something you gain then lose rather than a traditional stacking buff that you get to max and keep there. Very few builds are capable of that, and of the ones I know (only Luck Norris), they use quest items that aren’t scaling right now anyway.

Only DOTs atm.

Joltzdude also did a stackbot/pearl build w/ the bangstick as a primer.

@boombumr Well that’s a bummer. It’s really messed up that Hollow Point (crit kills) resets it. Thank you for sharing this.
@derwitte I’ve seen his build and was trying to create my own take on it with more focus on sniper gameplay and trying to keep stacks up instead of cycle them like he does. But I know better understand why he is doing it that way.

I run M10 sniper FA build using 300v90 Unseen Threat. I find that Stackbot is just too unpractical to manage in mobbing personally.

You will need to rely on the Guardian Overkill skill in order to snipe efficiently at M10 even with optimal SR. If you miss your crit, you will have to restack. Since Stackbot is the same way and you will be one shotting without it if you have overkill anyway, it’s just redundant unless you are bossing.

I just use a Bounty Hunter with good passives for the above reason and it works pretty well.

As for cool down, I am with tysonyar. It is much better to rely on Brainstormer/Reflux and Hunter Seeker grenade.

@Arthicrex Yes, 100% agree with what you have said here. My experience with the Stackbot is that it has its uses, but they are kind of niche and are generally outshined by the Bounty Hunter and Cosmic Stalker anyway. Bounty Hunter is my preferred COM.

Makes sense. Just curious, why do you run a Bounty Hunter instead of a Deadeye? I thought the Deadeye was the better sniper com?

I just happen to have a god roll Bounty Hunter for Jakob’s SR. Also with 300v90 SR, Deadeye’s bonus has very small return.

@Arthicrex Fair enough.

Thank you to everyone for the feedback. It’s been really helpful.

Bounty Hunter takes the overall edge IMO. However Deadeye can offer some impressive 1 shots with extra points in Two Fang.

Do you avoid two fang because of this? Because as I understand it, when two fang procs it limits your overkill damage a good bit.

Will second the input regarding Deadeye vs. Bounty Hunter for a sniper COM. Bounty Hunter wins as a sniper COM in my book with one big exception - and that’s unless you are using Jakobs. The Two Fang effect with single-projectile Jakobs weapons can get pretty crazy with the Wedding Invitation or the Unseen Threat. Plus you get Fast and Furryous boosted as well, and the movement speed really helps Fl4k. Pile on top of that the special effect of the Deadeye COM and your Jakobs snipers really wreck (yes, on Mayhem 10, and yes, even on True Takedown mode).

Even with Two Fang proc, you simply won’t be one shotting triple health bar badasses and anointed unless you have a significant overkill damage stack. They are just too tanky at M10.

On top of that, 300v90 anoint is a v2 multiplier and will just be additive to the Deadeye’s 35% v2 damage bonus and that makes it insignificant.

Until GBX fixes the scaling, I would say the only 2 things that really matter in playing “1 shot 1 kill sniper” build are the overkill damage and 300v90 anoint on your gun.

@Arthicrex Spot on. You definitely can do a fair amount of one-shotting with the Unseen Threat if you can stack and carry overkill (even badasses), but
I agree with you that it is not super practical to bank on that as your playstyle. Maybe some of the PC players are much better players than me and can consistently crit every sniper shot, but I can’t. I can crit a lot, but not every shot. So the carrying overkill thing is one of those things that looks cool (and feels awesome) when you one-shot like 5 enemies in a row, but you simply cannot ALWAYS do that. But it definitely is cool when it all comes together.

@TexasC4 If you want a good sniper build, I would encourage a base build of something like this. https://bl3zone.com/planner/AAB5CO5CQ2CR1CS1CU3CV3CW5CY1CZ5DA3DB5DC5DG3DH3DI1DJ1DL- Everyone has their own twist on the build, but this is what I use. I snipe with Rakks rather than FA, but the build is basically the same. I think there are either 3 or 4 extra points remaining from the base build and I would put those in either Persistence Hunter (if you would ever want to run GITM with the build for bossing and the Sand Hawk or some other auto sniper like the Krakatoa) or you can put those points into Hunter’s Eye (my preference) or Hidden Machine.

I generally run one sniper as my primary weapon, and then a shotgun (generally Recursion or Reflux for deleting big mobs), SMG (Kaoson or Cutsman), and AR (OPQ or Clairvoyance) in my other slots.

Just a few thoughts and hope it helps your build.

@Arthicrex Wasn’t expecting to one shot triple health bars on M10, though I’m curious how this will work after they fix the scaling like you mentioned. I really hope that will allow me to farm and pull out my Headsplosion again. On M4 that thing just destroyed mobs and was so much fun to use.

@tysonyar Below is the sniper build I has been running with the goal of spending most of my time using sniper rifles or very hard hitting revolvers which function almost the same way. https://bl3zone.com/planner/AAB5CO5CR3CS1CU3CV3CW5CX1CZ5DA3DB2DC3DE5DG3DH3DI1DJ1DL3DN-ac1ATpe1BBel1AAau1AWau2BA
Very similar to yours but with a few points shuffled around.
