I solo for the most part. I LOVE Krieg now that Iāve gotten to lvl 25+. I also loved Maya for co-op. Completely dependent on your play style, as all BL players know. But I was unhappy with Kreig for a bit so stay patient.
Honestly, Kreig can be one of the most fun characters to play. The hilarious comments, and setting off RTB makes for an insane amount of fun. As mentioned above, you donāt NEED FOTFH as a shield. I like using either the Rough Rider, or Love Thumper. Both have their benefits, and drawbacks. Combined with a Flakker or Carnage, Slag Avenger, Rapier or Ogre, and DPUH which can be swapped with a decent explosive RL, he is almost unstoppable.
Thatās so great to hear. Iām excited to start him. Thinking bloodlust tree first then sneak over to hellborn.
I started Krieg in Bloodlust and then went with Mania. After reaching OP8 I decided to try a Hellborn/Mania build. Bloodlust/ Hellborn I havenāt tried- but it sounds interesting. Just tried a simulated build on the skills calculator and managed to reach both capstones at level 58, which looks lie this:

Those 5 points in Empty the Rage could just as easily go into Numbed Nerves for damage reduction or Fuel the Blood for more explosive damage but like I said- Iāve never tried this particular build but still, it looks interesting. I might give it a try after I prestige Kriegās BAR and start an OP8 play thruā¦
Bloodlust as you do want blood bath, mania as salt the wound is great and hellborn is your bread and butter.
Krieg is the 2nd strongest dps gun user without much stacking behind sal.
Question, think I can build Krieg And Not have to run through the content? I havenāt played any dlc and want to enjoy it, but not be forced to run in and move so fast and hectic that I miss all the little things.

Thatās the opposite of how Paul designed Krieg. He wanted you to rush through with an irrational hectic aggression like a Psycho would have to keep your stacks. He was also designing Krieg for the long-time players who already knew the game, so he wasnāt thinking about it as āa new player could miss something.ā
Thatās exactly how I thought about him. As for players who already played the content. 
And I really want to enjoy the dlcā¦any other suggestions for vault hunters 
My second favorite PC in this game is Maya. She has a good combination of damage, healing (both team and self), and crowd control. Being able to stasis a tough enemy, have everyone converge onto that enemy, have the whole group be slagged, and have bullets ricochet to other enemies from one use of an action skill is awesome. Add on top of the fact that Life Tap turns you into a walking Moxxi weapon on kill, and she becomes insane. And thatās just my build. Add the other builds that mind-control enemies, run at superhuman speeds, become invincible to bullets, heal an entire group of friends in 2 seconds, or kill raid bosses in less than 5 secondsā¦ she is a goddamned great character.
Oh wow, Maya sounds bad ass. Sounds like I can take my time with her if I want to as well.
I play solo though, maybe I can skip past the team skills and still be viable.
When I use to play I heard that she was weak and had problems with raid bosses. But that was years ago, I assume things changed?
I assume cataclysm tree is a good first one to start in to get ruin and converge asap.

Converge is in the Motion tree. And yes, she can do great mobbing damage, and she is great solo (I almost exclusively play solo).
Yeah, thatās what I would do. Along with Zer0, heās one of the more advanced characters to learn and play. Not great for a first character, in my opinion.
Krieg: I am a slow walking tank who seldom ffyl and kill stuffs faster than you can count.
There no rush.

How does Maya kill raid bosses so fast? I thought she sucked at them.
Itās a build called the āDeal with the Devil.ā Itās where you use coms and shields to drop your max health to zero, wear a Banshee com that boosts Immolate by 6 points, then do massive amounts of damage to kill the raid boss before he has a chance to damage you. Itās extremely risky, hence itās name.

It might only work for him, never tried it myself (donāt have the gear to do so). I think it might (emphasis on might) be possible to do this to Vorac too.
I thought this was patched so it no longer worked? I could be wrong but I remember something about it awhile ago. Thought it instantly killed you once you hit 0 health now?
It worked for Alot of bosses and encounters. It could be done the best on Hyperius and Terramorphous. But GBX believeād that exploit to be too strong And you can no longer perform this Solo.
Funny how they didnāt fix inconceivable &.money shot. Yet they nerfed Maya & Zer0 (the latter for a few months)
