State of Battleborn X1......not looking good

The solution may not have existed that long though, especially given it’s an intermittent bug that affects people differently. For example, I got through two sessions recently without it affecting me once, and one where it only bit me after the final match (just before I was going to quit anyway.) Those kinds of bugs are very hard to isolate and pin down (and I say that from bitter experience - not from games though.)

It might pick up now the BF1 beta is over, but iirc something else just hit as well. Some free trial of some game called Underclock or something? Don’t really remember…

it was low long before any Beta or free weekend was here, it has been slowly dying since Pendles really, currently treading water only with the faithful and the bargain bucket buyers who are leaving as quickly as they can.

they broke it…it got worse…its took too long to correct and the fault lies in poor testing of the update considering they are fully aware both X1 and PS4 have preview programs they have easy access to for testing…its no excuse and not acceptable.

Xbox playerbase is not low at all, if I can get a match in about 3 minutes at the MOST in every mode there is not a problem

I play most nights and I always get a game very quickly. From my perspective, the Xbox playerbase is strong.

Admittedly I play the popular Incursion mode exclusively, but I never have problems finding games on Xbox One within a few minutes at pretty much any time of day. Can also hop into a story match with ease.

This sounds like a case of “guys this one time it took me 15 mins to find a match” kind of thing. I’ve said this in countless threads, but I’ll repeat it here. I’ve had times (on PS4) where it takes longer to find matches based on who I’m partied with. If I party with my brother it takes longer than if I party with a friend who hasn’t played/won as many matches as us/or is a lower CR. Incursion (even during the Chaos Rumble event) never took longer than 5 mins. During Chaos rumble I was finding matches of CR (not to be confused with Command Rank) faster than I find matches on OW. Now that’s saying something, and it’s easier to see how long matchmaking takes on OW because they give you a nice little timer. It’s taken sometimes up to 8 mins to find a match, but it doesn’t feel like it because half the time they throw you into skirmish. Anyways I digress.

I think the free trial was for a game called oldwatch, by buzzard entertainment.

Some players don’t align with the time zones of the USA where the game has the higher proportion of players. So people outside the US are likely to be experiencing challenges before they eventually appear in the US as the player base drops off. The PC has a pretty poor playerbase and that has already been established. It is harder to know just how the PS4 and Xbox One are doing as gaming stats are harder to come by. The one thing that should not be ignored is that when players are genuinely saying they are having problems getting matches on the consoles then it is likely to be an indicator of things to come as the reducing player base eventually creeps into the most popular time the game is played.

You seem to be a fan of over-exaggerating. X1 fanbase isn’t low, it’s just not crazy high. If a queue is going on for 15 minutes, it’s not going to find you a match. Not in 10 either. Just leave and come back, that’s an issue in just about every multiplayer game.

As for the loading data bug… that sucks… I guess? I’ve never had it once, though I’m on ps4, and I’m not sure if it’s just exclusive to the Xbone.

Like @VaultHunter101 said, it’s not exactly an easy problem to fix if it doesn’t affect everyone the same way.

It’s like wack-a-mole, but the playing field is several thousand feet long, ya know? You can quote me on that, too. :kissing_heart:

I should also mention that there have been a few instances on X1 where I’m waiting for a match for 3-5 minutes and it never finds even a single player to join me. If that happens, I reset the game and when I come back I find a game right away. It must be a bug or something. It shouldn’t happen, granted, but it does. If you’re waiting a really long time and don’t connect with any players, try restarting.

I’ve also noticed that if I’m in a party and it’s taking a while to find an opponent team, backing out of the search and then going back into the queue will often speed things up.

Im on xbox an ive never waited longer then 10 mins for a match or to find players when doin PVE an thats almost always at like 7am when theres considerabllly less people on.

I took about two weeks off from playing Battleborn on the Xbox; I was having 5 to 10 minute wait times. Never had that before.

Exactly! I’m from Australia and during the week night I may get an Incursion match after 10pm otherwise it’s the weekends that I can only reliably find a consistent amount of matches. Not everyone considers that there are actually other regions that don’t fare as well.

Xbox population is fine, though as noted by some, matches are horribly one-sided 90% of the time. It’s a shame, but there’s not much to be done until a true competitive system (hopefully with tangible rankings and incentives to do well) is released.

My suggestion is to stick with it, however frustrating or monotonous it may be - when/if a ranked or competitive playlist is released, those who return after weeks/months of playing other games might find themselves unpleasantly challenged :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

this should be looked into as it is not normal :expressionless:

Just want to say, it takes me just as long to find a match on battleborn as it does to find a match on call of duty black ops 3. Just comes down to when you search, especially now since all the school people are back at school subtly shifting peak times.
I would like to see a free weekend, however. More players is always a good thing, especially now since many of the character balancing issues have been resolved (i know there are many more but they dont allow players to 1 or 2 man/woman carry).

Totally agree. It’s been happening since launch. Others have mentioned it
so I would assume Gearbox saw it and either hasn’t been able to fix it or
hasn’t tried.
