Some players don’t align with the time zones of the USA where the game has the higher proportion of players. So people outside the US are likely to be experiencing challenges before they eventually appear in the US as the player base drops off. The PC has a pretty poor playerbase and that has already been established. It is harder to know just how the PS4 and Xbox One are doing as gaming stats are harder to come by. The one thing that should not be ignored is that when players are genuinely saying they are having problems getting matches on the consoles then it is likely to be an indicator of things to come as the reducing player base eventually creeps into the most popular time the game is played.
You seem to be a fan of over-exaggerating. X1 fanbase isn’t low, it’s just not crazy high. If a queue is going on for 15 minutes, it’s not going to find you a match. Not in 10 either. Just leave and come back, that’s an issue in just about every multiplayer game.
As for the loading data bug… that sucks… I guess? I’ve never had it once, though I’m on ps4, and I’m not sure if it’s just exclusive to the Xbone.
Like @VaultHunter101 said, it’s not exactly an easy problem to fix if it doesn’t affect everyone the same way.
It’s like wack-a-mole, but the playing field is several thousand feet long, ya know? You can quote me on that, too.
I should also mention that there have been a few instances on X1 where I’m waiting for a match for 3-5 minutes and it never finds even a single player to join me. If that happens, I reset the game and when I come back I find a game right away. It must be a bug or something. It shouldn’t happen, granted, but it does. If you’re waiting a really long time and don’t connect with any players, try restarting.
I’ve also noticed that if I’m in a party and it’s taking a while to find an opponent team, backing out of the search and then going back into the queue will often speed things up.
Im on xbox an ive never waited longer then 10 mins for a match or to find players when doin PVE an thats almost always at like 7am when theres considerabllly less people on.
I took about two weeks off from playing Battleborn on the Xbox; I was having 5 to 10 minute wait times. Never had that before.
Exactly! I’m from Australia and during the week night I may get an Incursion match after 10pm otherwise it’s the weekends that I can only reliably find a consistent amount of matches. Not everyone considers that there are actually other regions that don’t fare as well.
Xbox population is fine, though as noted by some, matches are horribly one-sided 90% of the time. It’s a shame, but there’s not much to be done until a true competitive system (hopefully with tangible rankings and incentives to do well) is released.
My suggestion is to stick with it, however frustrating or monotonous it may be - when/if a ranked or competitive playlist is released, those who return after weeks/months of playing other games might find themselves unpleasantly challenged
this should be looked into as it is not normal
Just want to say, it takes me just as long to find a match on battleborn as it does to find a match on call of duty black ops 3. Just comes down to when you search, especially now since all the school people are back at school subtly shifting peak times.
I would like to see a free weekend, however. More players is always a good thing, especially now since many of the character balancing issues have been resolved (i know there are many more but they dont allow players to 1 or 2 man/woman carry).
Totally agree. It’s been happening since launch. Others have mentioned it
so I would assume Gearbox saw it and either hasn’t been able to fix it or
hasn’t tried.
Did you submit a support ticket? It’s a more direct way of bringing issues to the devs attention, and gives them an opportunity to try and identify patterns that might isolate the cause.
Is that in Incursion though? Because the wait for Incursion is much, MUCH lower than Capture and Meltdown.
[XBO] Europe/Germany here.
I had the command centre bug one time and then never again and wait times in the incursion queue are never longer than 1-5min.
But it seems the PvE playerbase is lower than one or two weeks ago … on the other side i see alot of low CR players around. But there also happen strange things in the PvE queues … i think the matchmaking engine assembles the teams too fast sometimes. So i end up 3 times in a row with 2/5 , then i leave and after this i get a completeley dfferent team 5/5.
Best regards.
I just played Overwatch, as part of its free weekend, and it made me appreciate BB more haha. The queue times were much faster, but then the game would end about 1 or 2 minutes in due to not having enough players. 1 in about 5 games actually went through and were played to completion. Realistically I was waiting 10-20 minutes to play an actual full game. I rarely wait that long on BB, usually anywhere from 2-10 minutes.
Also, character wise, BB was much more fun and better varied. OW opening scene made me worried because it was very charming and fun. I wanted to like OW, but I’m happy to say, that in my opinion, BB takes the cake.
I do think a free weekend or something would draw players in and convince some to buy and become regular Battleborn. Gearbox humor is just so clever and they create charming characters and interactions. I think the real trick is that GBX needs to change the way they do matchmaking. Just find 10 players and then distribute them as evenly CR as possible. I know it won’t always be even, because of parties, but I think it would help a lot with the speed of MM and make us fee better about the group we’re with.
I tried OW too, my motivation doing this was never really great, because i did apprehent that OW is missing all things, beside being a hero “shooter”, i love so much about BB. Then i played OW and my suspects became facts to me and it was worse than i thought. While the characters design & presentation is excellent ( but so is BB ) the whole character -setup is so family-friendly and Disney’esque that i got bored fast and this on top of all the missing things like coop PvE, skilltrees ( aka Helix ), lore achievements and all that stuff you see in BB. Then the game has no lore build ingame AND i wonder why reviewers and gamers often complain about how bad this is all in BBs story-missions and such … and then compare both games and praise OW, what happened to professional game reviewing lately?!
I have really no idea why most reviewers bashed BB and praised OW and why this game is so hyped all about the world. It is BB minus cooperative PvE story -missions, skilltrees ( aka Helix ), lore -achievements, weird characters & black humor and more.
I allways thought about buying OW when the price drops around 20,- Euros on XBO but now i have my doubts.
Best regards.
IGN says battleborns PVE is repetitive while overwatch has none and only has like 3 modes which dont get repetitive? they aren’t very different from one another.
I believe they also said somewhere BB has a lack of content but they said nothing about that to over-watch which clearly had sooooo much less content.
Reviewers are biased or bribed clearly though using IGN as an example might’ve been bad, we all know there an ugly company by now.
The Xbox playerbase seems fine to me, it takes me almost no time at all to be put into a match. The only modes I spend quite some time in queue for are Capture and PvE Advanced. But I do eventually find matches for everything.
I have noticed a lot of rage quitters lately. Some leaving immediately after our first sentry gets 1 point of damage in Incursion. Not so many in Meltdown, hardly any in story.
A free weekend would be cool, maybe the weekend after the first DLC operation drops to really hype it up. Hopefully we have matchmaking adjustments before then.
Same here, X1 too.
