Do what I do, stay on their side and if yall lose just laugh. There’s no point of frustrating yourself when people just stay dedicated to one lane.
I remember one guy and his team stayed on right lane the whole game and I was the only one that went to the left lane. The opposing team would bounce characters between both. So after fighting it for about 5 minutes and 2 deaths I decided to just stay on the right lane, only going to the left when I wanted shards. They got so mad and was on the mic like “OMG HOW ARE WE LOSING?!”. I proceeded to laugh horrendously as they tried to scramble to figure out what was wrong.
Some will get it though and start bouncing, but others won’t that are dedicated to a lane.
I get a match like this 2-3 times a day. I expect this “strategy” from new players but I see it more from command rank 100 players these days. Being inexperienced is not an excuse at max level, that’s just plain stupidity.
The only way I avoid this is play with a good full team, if not I just call for surrender or flat out leave the match if we’re getting steamrolled. I ought to start writing down names, so if I ever come end up the opposite team with players who do this, I’ll be sure to wail on 'em extra hard.
Honestly I try to help the lane that needs it if possible but if someone is spamming I’m less likely to help or do what they say. I’m not alone either many games only 2 teammates are defending (1 each lane) while the other two are roaming for kills so I go to each side and tend to stick to the side that needs it more (can’t kill enough minions, getting likes more, just being pushed out of lane more, ect) and if the one who needs less help spams I’m less likely to help esp if I say on mic that the other side needs more help and they still do it. If it didn’t work the first 3 times another 30 won’t do anything either but annoy people who are actually trying to help as best as possible. Spam Instantly will make people avoid you.
On the flipside I ran into a group of randoms who were too helpful. I was on a side by myself as kelvin, facing an attikus/miko combo. I pinged once, my entire team rushed to my aide… I then had to switch to the other side and again pinged for assistance, same thing. Did it one more time after switching sides again, finally got the lanes sorted out and we made a comeback from 256-100 to a narrow victory of less than 100 point difference.
I wonder if they couldnt slightly change the opening animations to subtly suggest a general first objective or team layout, something as simple as, “Make sure youre not outnumbered in lane”, while it shows the in-game animation depicting a silly diagram of the overhead map and showing a large red ‘X’ over a 5~1 lane composition- Or something of the like
Whenever I play Meltdown (solo), I never assume my teammates will know how to play. I never choose a character without range attacks or a strong AOE. I want to be able to tackle minions by myself if it turns into a 4 to 1 ratio.
I definitely have been in games where 2 or 3 player’s have never left a lane. It’s rare that I have seen 4 (happened once when I was with a 4-man premade of lower levels).
Like be level 1 playing PvP? I’m sorry, but if you’re under level 5, you shouldn’t be allowed to play PvP. Even more so, I’ve been seeing them in these new hardcore advanced lobbies. SERIOUSLY? So when you walk into an alien world you know nothing about you just nut up and run into chaos without a second thought? Yo I wouldn’t even WANT to play PvP or hardcore missions if I didn’t know what was happening. Like, make these people play the prologue and a couple missions so they get the game a little bit before ruining people’s fun in matchmaking
EDIT: not trying to derail this thread, this post just triggered something in me I’ve been wanting to get out
