My bad, @jackparisbohtis I was replying before I’d had my morning coffee
I find Toby to be the most effective PvE tank, you can rally behind his shield to boost your attack speed and gain slight heals. As for a support, Reyna all the way in PvE. Miko just doesn’t do much if anything on PvE other than heal. Reyna can shield, heal, and debuff enemies, and she’s good in a fight too. I see no sense in increasing the difficulty by adding a character with next to no combat proficiency when you can have one who supports and fights. Oh and again Toby, he increases team DPS and heals you as well as dealing tremendous amounts of damage he’s as versatile as a rubber band, you should seriously always have a Toby in a 4-5 man PvE.
I happen to love the story mode. My only complaint is that there isn’t enough of it.
Yeah, there’s quite a lot of repetition in the story missions. Similar mission types (defend, escort), same planets (3 missions on the same planet, etc.), similar-looking environments, little variety in enemy types (all Thralls - whatever those actually are in terms of the story - and some Varelsi), the same kind of NPC characters (how many spider-bot-looking things are there?!), and repetitive character dialogue. On top of it, there’s also no music in the game (save for the prologue song), which seems like a missed opportunity in terms of adding some more flavor to the game.
The first three missions are truly enjoyable, but then things just get repetitive quickly. There’s also little actual story to the game and the world just doesn’t feel fleshed out or explained well. It is disappointing and I know I have friends who have recently begun declaring their disappointment and have now gone back to other games. I know PvP is a big element to this game, but for those of us who don’t care for PvP, the PvE portions are underwhelming.
Hopefully, with time and DLC, we’ll get a little more variety and things will get a little bit better. They’ve made a solid foundation for this game and I appreciate that, I just wish I had waited at least a month or two and until the game went on sale before purchasing, but, the Beta gave me a lot of hope that’s now slowly being crushed by the current state of things.
Here’s looking to the future! GBx can do it; I just hope they’re committed to both the PvP and PvE experience equally.
Btw the game is a team game and there is not team in solo
Ye I agree… So why did you spent so much time and efford playing them all? I mean I play one once in a while, get bored out of my mind and have to drop the singleplayer/co-op for 2 or 3 days. If you bought this game for the singleplayer… You’re doing it wrong. I mean… It’s like buying battlefield for the singleplayer, who does that?
The singleplayer is very unpolished… the multiplayer on the other hand, not so much.
Someone has to physically be next to him I order to have him walk hence the objective “follow Boulder”
No mission is impossible with a good team. I have gotten silver or gold on all advanced missions with a full 5 man team
Beat it in 5 man team at 30 min using miko, isic, marquis, whiskey fox, and rath I think was our 5
That could be it but I also stood next to him for a minute and he didn’t move up the stairs.
It could be that being impatient and “leaving” boldurs side messes up the Event System/Pathfinding.
Regardless it makes Boldur look a bit overly attached
, but who wouldn’t be overly attached when the whole experiment crew that you are working with, dies right before your eyes and the only way to mask your horror of the cruelty of life is to decent into madness even further.
Boldur refuses to start the experiment as he gazes at the observatory, he doesn’t want to watch more people die.
In the end he has to do it and he knows that, doomsday is knocking right on your door in a slowly dying universe. THAT could be cannon, I accept it as my new headcanon about boldur.
I was always wondering, after you defend the observatory in the beginning boldur gets really excited. The group that came to help him succeeds and suddenly he sees hope again.
note i didn’t unlock boldurs lore yet
Lol I accept your explanation entirely
I was so happy to get Attikus’ audio lore… in my mind I had pictured him giving a war speech to the other thralls and that is exactly what it was.
I think it depends in who you’re playing. I played as Gal for Sabateur and managed to get Silver on solo… but then used Rath for his lore on the heliopage and OMG that was an unfun pain in the ass
Went back and played the last mission on advanced bc I really want Deande.
Played it with Gailea and cruised right through with no deaths and a gold.
Didn’t have Gal when I did missions and didn’t think she was still that OP after her nerf in open beta. After I beat it got the stupid error couldn’t connect to the server. I knew I would get it since I am unlucky like that and this game Iooked foward to for along time has done nothing but piss me off.
Luckily I still got credit for the win but didn’t get and xp or gear I obtained. If I wouldnt of got credit for the last hr of pure torture. I would of traded the game in today.
I would suggest doing this with Gailea before she gets nerfed.
I, at least, found that the Storymode is the best thing of the Game. In Multiplayer-PvP i hadn’t as much fun as it supposed to be(also mostly due Overwatch, i prefer Overwatch if its come down to pvp), but i loved the Storymode. And sorry, no, Battlefield isn’t a good comparison. BF Campaign is really bad. However i have the feeling, people who complain about the SP are People who thought, the SP would be something like Borderlands. But the SP is truly different. BB is simple a raid/dungeon-mode where you clear these missions as a team(or solo) like if you would do an Raid/Strike in Destiny, or World of Warcraft. However with a Moba-Style Roaster, so for me it adds a huge replaybility try to beat these Missions with different Characters and Combinations. If i want a bigger indepth PvE i still can go back and play Borderlands, but i really enjoy the Storymissions in BB.
I’m happy for you you like the singleplayer. I personally feel that it is a little tacked on, but that doesn’t mean others have to feel the same way. I guess my previous reply was a bit too absolute in that way. Having said that, I feel the emphasis of this game is clearly on the multiplayer. When someone buys it for the singleplayer alone and not for the mp I feel they might be disapointed, like the OP.
Thing is, players had enough time to make up their mind with the open beta. We knew there would be “only” 8 missions and we were given a pretty good idea how those missions would be structured. If someone doesn’t like the tower defence/ base defence esque gameplay… Well, you should’ve known what you were getting into. It was never falsely presented or overhyped.
Of course, i mean its still an Moba, which emphasis Multiplay generally. Also please don’t misunderstand me, it isn’t like i find the MP Part bad, i enjoy it and will play it for fun(when i have unlocked all Characters, because i’m not an fan of Mobas with an limited roster, where you have to unlock everything at first… maybe because i began to play Moba with Dota 1 for WC3, not league of legends). And yes, you are correct, people should’ve know what they getting into it. I mean if i read that people expectet its something like Borderlands, than okay… never 've seen Gameplay or played the beta.
However at least for me the main selling Point was the PvE Part and i’m not dissapointent yet. Of course i self find, that they don’t meet the Potential as it could be, however i felt the same with Borderlands 1 as well, and i still count Borderlands 1 as my favorite Games of all time(besides Borderlands 2 obviously which is my favorite Borderlands Game). And with the Sequel they did a nearly perfect job, so maybe we will get in some years an Battleborn 2 and we will see an similiar result =)
That’s the best part of the game IMO. Play missions as is with random people and it’s a good sleeping pill. There’s only 1 fun map to play and the other maps I back out when people pick them.
The devs need to buff up health and shields on all enemies by %40 and add in %60 more enemies. It’s more of a fight to get a kill before someone else takes your kill since almost everything dies too fast. It sucks I have to wait my guess 6 months for my hope public harder DLC maps to play?
Play advanced hardcore if it’s to easy for you
