Streaming + Videos? What does community want?

Well good.

So there you go : I just watched you Twister vid on my lunch break and learned something :grinning:
Also I noticed your Harold and Norfleet. Umm, sorry :frowning:

As i said, when farming i always have mot powerful weapons…gotta take the boom to them. Those Witch Doctors can be tough yet alone the Ultimate’s. During normal game play i always have a launcher for FFYL, usually i have sniper, shoty, rubi. Not set in stone. I love to use the Ladyfist when i can. I use it in CC as it takes out crystalisks with ease.

I’m up for co-op challenges or speed runs (which haven’t really been explored fully on this forum). Give me a holler!

And, by the way, I’ve been labeled a Cabbage by @Gulfwulf
A: If i was going to make any new videos, what would people watch?
Me personally:

 • You should have a full set of skill points. New playthroughs bore me because the combat doesn’t get really varied until you’re bringing a bit over two full skill trees to play. New character combat involves a gun, maybe an action skill and a few points in some top-tier skills, so you’re basically watching the most baseline action possible. That said, the more skills you bring to bear during combat, the better.

 •
The best vids are ones that show something creative or ballsy - especially ones that don’t feature the Harold, Pimp, Norfleet :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
Yeah, seriously; don’t use a Pimpernel, DPUH, or Sandhawk as your main… those guns are way too played out for me. If you’ve got a unique situation for them, go for it, but the BL2 videoscape is flooded with that already.

 • Raid bosses are also a bit overplayed. If you’re not doing a speed run and otherwise have some unique kill method, they’re fine.

For the record, I’m not the audience you want; if you make videos that would interest me, I’m not sure they’ll be as popular as you’re after. If these are meant to show off the possibilities in the game to a new crop of players, go for an exposition.

Hi sorry man, i don’t want to sort of but not completely go off topic lol, but i noticed your interest in the forthcoming twitch event http://www.jojothepyro.com/onelifechallenge/

I just wanted to suggest that given the nature of this challenge, and the fact you need to stream your participation, may help you here!
It could possibly go along way, as to giving you a lot of good footage for use in both mediums!

Sorry meant @DaRTH_FuRioN

The problem with making content for this game if you are looking to increase followers and subscribers is that you can pretty much find multiple videos of everything on YT. Very few people are actively looking for BL2 content. You would have to come up with something unique and that is really hard to do with a game this late in it’s life cycle.

More power to you though. I have been streaming the past couple weeks and been having a blast with it. Even though I pretty much cap at 25 viewers. I do it for fun because I love the game. I would say if you are going to make videos just do some stuff that you personally enjoy doing/making.

@nissanzaxima @Adabiviak

Actually, i’m not interested in building an audience, my purpose of the thread was to find out what people like watching. I’ve played the game since day 1 like many in the forum now, and made a bunch of guides when the PS4 version landed. I have limited streaming bandwidth, so that will never take off.

I’ve followed reddit, youtube and twitch (rarely) and have been present in this forum just after B2 dropped, so i realise the game is on it’s very last legs and virtually everything has been done and video’d. Derch still makes guides, and i noticed some new videos going up that do get plenty of hits.

The point of the thread is to see IF people are watching vidz or streams, what do they like?

There have been a few replies but this isn’t about me, it’s about the Borderlands 2 community. And i’d just like to help keep it alive - hope this makes sense?

I’ll start off by saying that I don’t watch streams and I rarely watch videos of things, so I’m not really the type of person to ask.

But…

Personally, I like to see challenging/difficult stuff or things that are rare, unique, etc. I’m not really interested in watching xXDoritosMountainDew420Xx run around and BeeHawk everything or Shamfleeting their way to victory, or some Gunzerker with infinite ammo and grenades.

Thnx for reply. Seems like there are no new players around, or very few now. But, i’m gonna try to come up with ideas, and ask about to see if any other ps4 members wanna do some stuff, and come up with ideas - mainly for fun, but to keep the game in the limelight. This year will lose a lot more players, especially when Destiny 2 comes out. I’m probably gonna hit Diablo hard when season 10 appears for console in April too.

I don’t like watching streams. I do love watching vids of end game however. OP8 to be exact.

RAID kills, mobbing… it’s all good as long as it’s end game. I prefer OP8 but as long as it’s UVHM end game level 72, I’m up for it.

When watching vids I always want to see the following:

 • BAR is it on or off?
 • Skill distribution
 • gear being used.

I occasionally watch vids of BL2, and I also may stream BL2 more (kinda waiting on the leveling grind, which is going to take quite a while because I’m leveling all 6 characters together). I streamed some of my raid boss solo’s in NVHM (which I did as part of my NVHM playthoughs of the DLCs, so I wasn’t grossly overpowered for those fights), and those have gotten a decent number of hits for someone w/ no significant rep. relating to the game (I am much better known to the folks in BL1 because of how long I was active there, and my class mod based build guides).

As for streams/vids, the stuff I most like to see is endgame mobbing (partly because that’s what I enjoy most in BL, most of my over 2k hrs in BL1 were spent mobbing in endgame). I think the arena fights in particular could make for some really enjoyable content to watch, since they are pure combat, with no real interruptions and actually fairly challenging as mobbing gameplay goes (OP8 arenas are something I think I will heartily enjoy playing once I finally get there).
