It depends a little bit on whether you’re going sniper, melee, or hybrid Zer0 with your build. However, this should give you a very good overview:

Note that you’ll find plenty more excellent Zer0 resources in that section of the forums.

And even more if you’re going Salvador, Gaige or any one of the usual suspects. I’m sorry! My need for cheap punchlines got the better of me. I promise to improve myself! Performing here all week! Everyone welcome… Anyone, actually… Please… Someone!

D’Oh! For some reason I read a ā€œZer0ā€ in the OP. Sorry if that’s not the case!

There are, however, equivalent posts in the relevant character sub-sections for all of them. Worth taking a look at, as you’ll see certain items popping up on multiple lists.

Edit: @Ronnie_Rayburn - double D’Oh. Check the thread title! Glad to know I wasn’t seeing things

Well… I’m gonna try and salvage some dignity here, since my eyes and/or brain has failed me bitterly.

Yes, the thread title does indeed point out Zer0, but my previous statement is still valid. It’ does matter which character you use. There! I win!

Dammit! I’ve trapped myself in a corner. sighs Fine! I missed that one! Happy now! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Since you should have a good chunk of Zer0’s skills the gear you will want for UVHM outside of things that have synergy with those skills is pretty straight-forward:

You’ll want a slag tool (other than Kunai, which has a cooldown). Preferably something that allows you to shoot as it slags (aka not a gun). Slag Transfusion grenades, Singularities, and the Magic Missile are good choices.

Even if you have a melee build it never hurts to have some points in Zer0’s assassin tree. There are too many good snipers, and Zer0 can make them all exponentially better. I used to have a thing for high rarity Vladof snipers because of their fire rates, which are still good, but lately have been on a Dahl kick since I have a hybrid build and they give me a little leeway if I don’t take a head shot without burning through as much ammo as I might with a Vladof.

A Great Shield: Depending on the area I will try and get a shield for Zer0 that allows me to maximize how I work my way through. If I am in a critter heavy area (skags, stalkers etc.) I lean on spike shields (fire and shock) to cover myself if I get pinned down and in a crazy skirmish. The Flame of the Firehawk is my fave of these because it’s a nova shield that might as well be a spike shield since it continuously fires. For armed enemies I lean on Absorb/ deflection Shields, with elemental resistance when possible. Most common ones range between 20-30% inclusive of most uniques. The legendaries/ seraph ones like the Sham, Antagonist and others are much better. A lot of people who are better about avoiding damage like Amp shields, and roid shields for melee, but I don’t usually rely on those.

The Ancient Relics all have great use with with the major stat boosts. If I can I like to get a Sniper relic to boost his damage output with those astronomically when combined with the Sniper COM.

There are plenty of guides and what not, but I think it’s more fun to have a general guideline of what to look for and try out whatever you find, otherwise the game gets too procedural and redundant if you’ve ever watched anyone else play or stream.

If you prefer that kind of playstyle then I’d suggest farming up a Sham and a Logan’s gun. Can’t get any cheesier than that.

Generally for Zer0 I’d suggest snipers and shotguns. The oneshot potential with his damage boosts and action skill makes it work nicely. While rapid fire weapons can be made work, I’d argue any other character gets better results with them. Having said that revolvers are pretty good because of their higher base damage for your boosts to work on. A Maggie build can be pretty fun to play.

I’d suggest grabbing a slag gun. Zer0’s swap speed is secondary only Axton and max bloodlust Krieg I think so slag and swap is the preferred slagging method. On top of that finding magic missiles or slag transfusions is a good idea. Slag bouncing betty is not that bad either.

If you decide to step away from Norfleets then the best shield tends to be the bulkiest one as long as the recharge rate and delay aren’t abysmal on it. Turles work well on Zer0. Antagonist is one of my favorite pieces but it can slag yourself, especially in cramped spaces.

For relic, you can’t really go wrong with bones on Zer0 but considering what you are doing RL ammo relics or RL damage relics wouldn’t probably be a bad idea either.

i assume you probably finished your playthrough by now but if you decide to play again and need advice still

The 2 snipers I recommend with Zer0 are the Pimpernel (from the Captain Scarlett DLC) and the Lyuda full auto sniper gotten from farming Gettle in the Good the Bad and the Mordecai sidemissions. You’re also really good with a regular purple Droog sniper or even a Snider.

for other weapons. An infinity pistol can be handled well with Zer0 thanks to his one shot one kill skill in the sniper tree which allows for increased damage from the first shot in a magazine. And since infinity doesn’t reload every shot is the first shot. In addition you can put points into Accuracy so that the spread pattern of the figure 8 recoil is reduced a lot.

A Sandhawk is also a useful gun with bore and a Bee shield. Also gotten from Captain Scarlett DLC as a main mission item for Whoops. Note you might want to use Velocity skill to increase bullet speed a lot. But this does not work well with a Pimpernel sniper as Velocity actually hurts the effectiveness of a Pimpernel. And Pimpernel can be great for Bore. (i bored 2 ultimate Badass Loaders with one Pimpernel shot and I audiably freaked out at how awesome it felt.

An unkempt harold (gotten from Savage Lee in Three Horns Divide is also good on pretty much anyone. It’s always a good default gun to use when you’re not sure what to get yet.

One gun I actually like to use that not eveyone does is a Sledge’s shotgun (gotten in the Fridge that spawns from killing a Goliath after you finish the Laney sidemission for scooter and turn it in)

For a melee build the Law and Order pistol/shield combo is great for healing you for damage and you can really have some fun with it

Also a Hide of Terramorphus shield that deals a fire nova AND roid damage upon depletion is pretty cool to use on occassion

Anyway that’s just a few different ones you could try
