Well, if they are actually criticising you like that I can understand, but just regular taunting and I think it’s fine

I don’t really know how to define regular taunting. The game says “TAUNT NOW!” after every KO, but how do we define a taunt-worthy KO?
For example, if an Orendi skillfully punts an enemy back into her team (and pillars) with QM + Nullify, deals the lion’s share of the damage, and then some other guy lands the final hit and taunts, it just feels odd to me. And it certainly feels odd to me when it’s a 5-man lynch mob, where everyone’s sharing the work, and one guy in that group taunts.
I used to play a lot of fighting games, where taunting is usually performed after a very skillful combo – a way to put an exclamation point on a very precise chain of actions. I kind of wish the game only said “TAUNT NOW!” in such situations – perhaps only displaying if a player dealt over 2/3rds of the damage to the KO’d player. More of a “You did good!” instead of “You landed the last hit!”

Holding a grudge is like you drinking poison in hopes that the other person dies.

That wasn’t me was it? I remember playing against you and one other person on monuments shortly after the update. We did decently in the beginning but my team were potatoey and lost

You were in the game against me
But you weren’t the one who taunted me

Doesn’t Whiskey Foxtrot have a moral obligation to perform the Tea Ceremony after every KO?

Oh that makes me feel better. I usually taunt higher level ppl like yourself but only really for fun like a general “gotcha!” Type rule. Never any ill will. I only got about 2 people I consistently taunt and its cause I think there toxic

Well it’s just a game in my opinion, if you feel like taunting, go ahead, if the other person can’t deal with it that’s their fault
Now messaging who you killed is a different story, THAT should not happen

Sending people angry messages is definitely not cool. I’ve had a few sent my way. One guy was harassing me and telling me Kelvin is the easiest character to get kills with and that I’m a, let’s just say “punk”, for playing Kelvin as often as I do.

That’s freaking stupid, sorry you had to deal with that (also kelvin is still awesome)
With all the nerfs to the other characters I’m a little worried Kelvin might be nerfed too.
Kelvin is a cool dudes, they shouldn’t mess with him.

The only 2 taunts I received yesterday were both from dropkicks in 5-man 150 premades (generally triple-legendary meta comps) in quick match. One from a Mellka that tickled me for the last 1% of my health while running back into spawn. One from an El Dragon that got the last hit on me as Montana while I was being butt-■■■■■■ by the rest of his team.
I love these kinds of players.
More like INJURY TO INSULT, AM I RIGHT GUYS!!!..
I’ll see myself out…

You can send happy messages to people have taunted you, that’s okay! I’ve made many friends from messaging people who have taunted me (most the time I’m beating them and they just say something on the lines of “I just needed to get you”) but yeah if everyone is friendly about it and don’t take it to heart it’s all good

People take taunts very personal in this game, that’s why I don’t do it unless it’s against someone on my friends list and I’m 100% sure they know that I don’t intend to do it as some kind of insult.
It’s a shame, because I find them funny and have no problem being taunted (anyone who played with me knows there are many chances for it).

Meh, in my mind taunting is meant to be a personal thing. I honestly dislike that it’s a thing in certain times. Like when you’re going to kill someone and they get a lucky save from a teammate (a heal or help to kill you) and they think that after that teammate basically saved their life they deserve a taunt. Or taunting early in the game when someone else does all the work to kill me then someone else finishes and taunts me. In the manners where taunting is not deserved then absolutely it is taken seriously and I’m going to do my absolute best to make sure at every turn that you die and see my taunt for the rest of the game. If you’re a known player and you get cocky cause you taunt one of us, we will make sure to spread the word and target kill a certain someone taunting.
Other times, it’s fine. Like after a long, grueling struggle where no teammate intervenes whatsoever and you win, yeah taunt that, you earned it from start to finish, go for it. Or when it was a funny death. Then yeah, taunt it up, it was funny. Sometimes the comedic timing of taunts throws off the act of actually taunting.
Taunting, in this game, is like a statement. “I was better than you” or to some people’s cases when they do it “I am better than you.” There are some people I know who taunt each and every thing because they are trying to throw you off your game, just ignore it and taunt them whenever. But if you’re not one of those top tier Battleborn players I know is better than myself, don’t taunt me, because then you’ve got 20 minutes of me proving that said one taunt does not mean you’re better than me. Every single chance I get. And if I’m not a character than can secure the kill (say Ghalt) all the time then I will definitely target you from the crowd.
So in short, I don’t mind taunting when it’s appropriate, it’s not appropriate all the time and shouldn’t be done all the time. It’s insulting to the player when you ran from a fight to go get to a teammate or healer and then taunt when you get that little boost to win a fight. “But it’s a team based game” yeah and when you pick that fight with me you’re not picking a fight with my entire team are you? No you, the individual, is trying to kill me, the individual. Use all your skills to beat me, but once you get your butt whooped, don’t run to a healer, re-grow your balls, kill me and then taunt me. It’s disrespectful and I will make sure I’m dominating you by the games end and you’ll get targeted by me for the game.

I’ve yet to see a mirror match (say like S&A against S&A) have the players get salty, those matches are always friendly in my experience
Meh, I view taunting as bad sportsmanship. I’ve taunted exactly twice since release and those were accidental. Besides, it takes time away from actually doing things and the imbeciles who stand around taunting regularly get me killed. Fortunately, there IS the opportunity to wipe the floor with someone who just taunted their impressive ability to pump a single bullet into someone who is fleeing combat, so I guess it balances out
There was one time, though, when most of a team quit and I jumped around with the two people who were left on their team and we just taunted each other for kicks while they waited to be able to surrender. That was fun.
