Hi!

I want to begin by saying Battleborn was so far off of my radar, I had already dismissed it. What a pleasant surprise to find I haven’t had this much fun playing a game in a long time. So, uh, kudos to the team who made this great experience!

I am a streamer (no self-promo intended) and I’m planning to stream this game for 6+ hours a day, 4 or more days a week (a normal thing for me). The only thing that actually bothers me is that your overall level is capped at 100.

I know it’s canned to ask for a ‘prestige’ mode that will let me start again after reaching one hundred, but I made it to level 72 in the beta in 3-4 days without really breaking a sweat. Ofc there will be the option to max out every character individually but I can’t help feeling like I’ll have the entire game maxed within a few weeks. I have the feeling most other people will too (it’s a fun freaking game ppl, obvsly). I actually kind of don’t like the idea of seeing every player in the lobby at level 100… it will be a bit deceptive when trying to understand how long someone’s been playing.

There doesn’t have to be a special title or something for prestige systems, but why not like a different patterned title card background? (Garden Warfare 2 did something like this very recently; it’s nothing special, just a neat way to show off how long you’ve been playing.) Is this something the amazing Gearbox dev team could add in at some point?

do you actually have a source on the hard lvl 100 cap? It’s the only thing that the devs mention to be similar to badass ranks. A hard cap anywhere would make that a very inadequate comparison then, by itself.

Yeah I’d like to progress endlessly, too.

Remove the level cap. I’d love to see level 200’s, 500’s etc. I’d imagine there’d be a few that’d get to 1500 or something like that. Id probs get to 800-900 based on the rate of levelling in the beta. It will feel odd to be stuck at level 100 which you can get real quick.

In Starhawk you could get to level 50 (the ‘cap’) pretty quickly. After that, each level was signified with a letter of the greek alphabet, and took the same amount of xp per level that it took to get to 50 (basically prestige ranks).

Most of the vets ended up around delta-epsilon (equivalent of rank 200-250 sort of area). Some got higher.

TL;DR: please remove level cap, or implement prestiges.

I think I remember reading a reply post to the beta info (might have been on Sony’s blog) where a community manager said there was no level cap specific to the beta but that the max level in game was 100. 100 was def the level cap for the beta though so I assumed it would be that way in the finished product.

I don’t know if this still holds true. but that means hardcapped 100 command rank, hard capped 15 character rank, so there’s no progress beyond that apart from challenges… a bit sad indeed

While I only reached Command Rank 40something during Beta I´m sure that Rank 100 shouldn´t take too long when this is live as I absolutely love this gem!

… You don´t even have to add any kind of reward … just let the Command Rank grow “unlimitedly” with ever increasing Exp requirements of course … whereby something like Rank 1000 maybe pretty much impossible but you could distinguish better between players … with the current system it will probably boil down to “100” vs “not quite 100”.

Yeah exactly, removing the level cap would be awesome! I imagine its going to suck when you hit lvl 100 and don’t progress any farther. There’s something rewarding about seeing the progress you make throughout playing and if that stops at 100 which is something most people will be hitting within two weeks that’s going to be very unfortunate.

Higher levels separate the wo/men with no lives (AKA me) from the children.

Plus it’s nice to see a reflection of all your hard work into a game. (S’why I like the titles)

I read somewhere that gearbox would like to rise the number of playable character up to 50 (that’s probably just a wishful thinking, but they said that). considering that so far there’s one character unlocked every 2 command rank, that we have 7 characters unlocked at first but that rank 2 and 4 don’t give anything, they indeed would need around 100 rank for that.
Maybe that’s why they choose a cap at 100. They always can extend it if they want though~
