Heyo~
I have yet another suggestion lol.

This time, Skill Tree’s!

Currently, you have to either find a Quick Change Station around in the world, or teleport to Sanctuary, this makes Skill Build testing more of a thing you might do every now and then, which is… fine? But it can be made into something better. :stuck_out_tongue:

My suggestion is… allow us to change skill builds in the menu, but keep the quick change station.
Here’s a list of the features I imagine, or dream of this having:

  • With my newly acquired knowledge(1) that there’s skills in tree’s that have a very long duration, there would be a button with a clear warning that removes all active buffs (that were triggered by a skill in the skill trees.)
  • A button to fully respec, much like in a quick change station.
  • Right Click a skill node to remove one point from it
  • Able to freely move points around as you please.
As in, say you have 5 points in tier one, you would still be able to move it even though next tier requires it BUT, you are not able to apply the changes, it will warn you that you require one more point in Tier # for Tier #, maybe even highlight the tier that needs more points in it if you wanna be extra fancy.
  • Using this system instead of the Quick Change Station costs Eridium instead of cash:
  • Removing one point in a skill = 1 Eridium
  • Full Respec = Max Skill Points divided by 2 (Our current 55 points would cost 27, not 28 – up to you though)

As for limitations on the system:

  • Can not be used in combat.
  • Can not used in Boss Arena’s
  • Can not be used if player has any active buffs triggered by anything in a Skill Tree.
Like stated above, I now know that some buffs lasts for a very long time so, again, there would be a button in the UI that removes all buffs (with a clear warning) on the player, that were given by something in the tree, and only upon accepting are they able to start using this new skill build UI.
  • Can not be used when Action Skill is in Cooldown.
  • Can not use inside any Takedowns, disable when they have the quest you get when a Takedown is started.
  • I have not done the Arena’s or whatever they are called but, they’d be disabled here too, I assume you also have a quest in log once you start these so, just disable if player has this quest.

Doesn’t that make it kind of pointless? Just speaking as a FL4K here, but one of my skills, Most Dangerous Game, last for 4 minutes. If I wanted to respec from the menu I’d have to exit the game anyway. At that point all this does is save me a trip to Sanctuary.

Also, considering all I’d have to do is go back to Sanctuary to respec there, why would I waste eridium to repsec from the menu? Eridium may not have much use right now, but neither does money. It seems like a strange way to give eridium value.

It allows for respeccing anywhere, and point by point instead of the entire tree all at once, unless they choose to do so.
As for that buff, hmm maybe there could be a system (with warning) that removes all buffs given by skills in the trees (so it obviously wouldn’t remove things like the science buffs).

Basically, its for easily being able to test a lot of builds, being able to move just a single skill point around as well.
As for why you wouldn’t just go back to Sanctuary, that just means this suggestion isn’t really for you. Its more so for those of us who love changing and testing builds a lot.
Going back to Sanctuary every time is kind of a pain, even more of a pain if you just wanna switch a single point around. :stuck_out_tongue:

They can’t even make sure removing a class mod removes it’s ability. Remove a skill point in the field and you’ll still have the skill, guaranteed, on at least one massive game changer.

The respec station is a hard reset for a reason: because anything else gets messy. There’s too much going on in this game, and the way they try to wall off some nonsense from occurring is to do things like require a hard reset of skill trees.

I’m sure they are able to.
