The most valuable two cents I can give Battleborn is my experience as a streamer, and where I see the success for Battleborn on Twitch has been and hasn’t.

In an ideal world, Battleborn sold as many copies - if not more - than Overwatch. Consumers reward originality over lowest common denominator, creative risk over tits, depth of content over refined mechanics. However, they didn’t. That’s our reality, and I’m not posting to beat a dead horse.

I like Super-Charge. Super-Charge is neat, because it’s a mode where you can have a very quick, casual, Battleborn experience. Matches can be close, there’s a lot of killing, and fast respawns. Now, in an ideal world Super-Charge was out with the game at release, and 3v3 modes were taken as par for the course. The reality is, Super-Charge is being seen on the one hand as a step-child that takes from other more important queues, and the other as the update people didn’t want, too little too late, etc,.

I’ve just chilled with Super-Charge, and it got my Paladin fix in, but here’s where my experience allows me one insight into the game. Nobody is watching. This isn’t just some labyrinthine issue of: marketing, radio silence, balance, etc,. it’s a matter of what people are interested in. When I go into drafted incursion my numbers spike. When good players are in drafted incursion they get numbers. Battleborn isn’t utterly dead, there is a community at least. When there’s a tournament people watch. A hundred plus people will watch the competitive leagues.

What I’m saying is, as much as I understand the logic behind their choices, it seems that the Battleborn community that remains - at least on Twitch - really likes competitive Battleborn. In an ideal world, we have all these queues along with the current state of the game on release. There’s a Wednesday solo/duo queue. There’s a competitive playlist with a tier system, visible ELO anything, that’s drafted incursion. There’s quick match. There’s bots battles. There’s mini queue, with Super-Charge.

What we have on console is quick match, bots battle, mini-queue, - which seems to be a little like trying to put pickles back in the jar, like Gearbox felt they could only do the three lobbies. It’s understandable. I like them all. I get them all, each has its unique place.

However, even as someone who gets owned in Versus Draft, I can’t help but think that the viewer data tells the tale. The most important queue seems to be missing. All that said, I really enjoy 3v3. Wish it could all coexist.

Supercharge is fun but I think that this gamemode doesn’t suit somebody of the characters in the game. Every melee character is perfect for this.

@Hitman01232

Can’t ranged characters just snipe the Melee characters though?

Waaaaaay to many places to avoid Sniper fire.

So I reallly don’t see the point in taking the capture point in supercharge. My team was actually LETTING the other team have it. Shepard bots = more XP and while the other team is worried about keeping the point you can just stay in lane and keep your turret up and fat bots rolling out

@FlamesForAll line of sight is too short on most of the maps from what I can tell, and Kleese is not good against competent opponents in this mode

Deande and Attikus are the strong picks from what I saw

@lucasatlive

Is there anything specific that causes the Shepherd Bots to spawn?

Well it is a new mode. Gotta work out the Kinks.

Holding the point spawns shepards for your wave

And after working out the Kinks, we must work out the Beatles, and then work out the Rolling Stones.

Dude no kleese is a beast in this mode. Not many people are picking range and he can set up his network at the enemy’s score and no minions will get in, letting the whole team focus on other things

Eh, every team I’ve gone against has had an Attikus punch right through me so different experiences

Guess it’s time for me to face The Music…

I had a teammate that kept picking Kleese. He performs similar to the modes this one is made of.
