Just following the same line of reasoning, that’s all. That’s how “statistical superiority” sounds like when applied to commonly criticized series of war shooters instead.
Well, it clearly sounded like you thought OW was my favorite first person shooter game. Maybe, i misunderstood and you were referring to other users in general and not just directly to me. I can list a whole lot of games that statistically are superior to BB and OW but that’s not the point of this thread. The comparison is only between OW and BB and not between warfare series or any other games.
i just got infinite warfare a week or two ago, and is it just me or is that multiplayer (though i only tested it against bots) the visually grainiest game I have ever seen?
I couldn’t say, because i refuse to play the multiplayer OR campaign in that game (i bought it for MWR). However, if you’re into the zombies stuff like i am, then “Zombies in Spaceland” might end up being your favorite zombies mode; even my friends who don’t care for it say that Affinity Ward CLEARLY put more effort into the zombies mode than the actual multiplayer.
I have never been more happy playing a zombies game, than when i see David Hasselhoff decend from the sky in the hands of a robot, and say “it’s time to go HOFF the charts” before grabbing an assault rifle and proceeding to fight along side you, as the Nightrider theme plays in the background. Sooo worth the money…
i couldn’t get out of the first area, it’s just that super small square carnival area with the map. it’s got the pistol and the starter rifle, but no doors to open, no gates, nowhere you can go except in just one small circle around the edges
You turn on the power in the little room to the right (if you are looking out towards the parking lot) to remove the barriers, then get $750 (points) to remove the barriers and enter the park. Aside from the central area, the park has four large areas that can be entered, and all of which have thier own power switch to find. I’d detail where if the park wasn’t so huge, but a gameplay video would honestly help you out more.
There’s a staggering amount of content in Zombies in Spaceland, compared to previous installations in the series, and it can be pretty intimidating at first. Just rock out to the 80’s music coming from the park’s speakers, and go with the flow, my man! If you want The Hoff to bestow the glory of his presence on you, search the side of the main area ACROSS from the area you started in, and find N1el the robot’s head; then place it on his body in the middle of the central area, and complete his challenges. Then talk to Niel again to activate the “knight protocol”.
Also, at the entrance to each new area (which are labled by signs above the entrances), each player will need to donate $1000 to open it, if not playing solo. Cooperation is a must. The safest area to juke and kite zombies is the Journey into Space area. Good luck, and enjoy
Oh god one of these again.
Oh god you just bumped the thread you dislike. BB and OW for the win!
Yeah. If you don’t like a thread, don’t post in it.
It’s just amazing, this fight is STILL going on. I never said I disliked the thread, I’m just shocked people are still fighting between Battleborn and Overwatch. It’s kinda silly at this point
Is not a fight, ow have some stuff i like but battleborn is superior in some aspects. That keeps me playing more bb
I started this thread and its gotten out of control. LOL I didn’t even realize how many comments there were! I probably would play OW too IF they had split screen. but they’re trash so… LOL just stirring the pot. It’s fine if people like it, it just seems like hyped-up fodder for masses.
I’ve thought this for a while…
Unless you’ve adjusted to it, Tracers model is just ugh
I was pretty surprised and a tad suspicious/disgusted when I read it won GOTY.
Suspicious? Why? It’s doing a lot in the world of e-sports. It’s super popular. It has tons of competitive players. It’s has it’s own pro leagues starting up in addition to the several big money tournaments that have already taken place. It’s super polished and fun to play. And it will most likely win several more ‘Best of…’ and ‘Game of the year’ awards before the year is over.
If you don’t like it, that’s cool. But you shouldn’t be surprised when a well made, popular game wins a lot of awards.
But not everyone really agrees with that. Some people don’t find it fun to play, and are surprised it wins GOTY. It’s not like you can’t allow someone to be surprised. ;p
I myself don’t think it’s original and different enough to be GOTY. But in my opinion, I feel like GOTY should be something special. A game that really makes you say “Woah… This is so awesomely amazing, I’ve never played a game like this.” Buuut that’s just my opinion. And I’m pretty sure yours is different.
And I just think it’s GOTY because Blizzard. If OW was a different game but made by Blizzard (That MMO they wanted to make for example.) it would have been GOTY too.
Again, that’s fine if you don’t like it. But it does deserve the rewards it has gotten (and will continue to get)
You say it hasn’t done anything special…but it has. It’s a game that allows casual gamers who don’t typically do well in multiplayer PvP shooters to feel like they are accomplishing things. It rewards players who do damage to an enemy but not land the killing blow get credit. It tries to soften the blow for losing by not pushing K/D ratio and deaths in your face constantly. As a result, it’s opened up this type of game to people who don’t typically enjoy them. And it’s incredibly popular as a result. This isn’t even mentioning everything it provides serious/hardcore/pro players. It’s safe to say it will win most of the ‘Multiplayer PvP’ game of the year awards. And possibly a few more general ‘game of the year’ ones as well.
Gameplay isn’t for everyone, which is understandable. I know plenty of folks who don’t like it. However…I don’t enjoy RPGs but understand if a popular, well received one wins awards.
I said the game is not a special game. It’s a shooter, has some heroes, pretty standard game modes. Not special. In my opinion.
And also, the things that are special don’t seem special to me. Yeah, it’s not usual for a game to work like that but at the same time, it’s not something new. Not some out of the box thinking.
Well, maybe it is for the type of games that are usually popular. But I still don’t think Overwatch is THAT interesting/new.
But I’m glad other people think it is.
And I should probably play some more OW to really be able to give a proper opinion about it.
AGREE.
twitch shooters feel cheap, there’s very little reactive sensory elements placed into your character when they get shot or affected by something, and even when there is the motion in general feels like watching a 24fps bluray for the first time, except it never wears off… for games like COD Whih have a quick 2 year turnover time for fast releases, that means each new release is basically a reskin of the same old engine… for a game like Overwatch to feel like a twitch shooter says to me they were aiming for the “cheap” feel of a twitch shooter, when their development time should have resulted in something more substantial in quality- like a halo game or the feel of destiny. But now we’re getting into a whole new territory bc essentially I’m saying TWITCH shooters are crap, and yet people go nuts over them… and how many COD heads can’t stand the beefier feeling shooters like halo or destiny, because they feel “slow”. I guess it’s a matter of taste, but I’m certainly not in agreement with “game of the year”. Dragon age. That deserved game of the year. Overwatch, deserved “most-popular-Bc-for-some-unknown-reason-people-like-this”, award.
And just to show you I’m a good sport, I got invited to the closed beta of a very Overwatch-like game recently, and while some people call it a clone, it’s already vastly superior to Overwatch in the feel of its gunplay. I’d understand GOTY if Overwatchs gunplay felt like that, but instead it’s just silly hyped up pop-rage.
And don’t expect blizzard to treat their fan base with high honors. Even the most honorable developers get big heads when the hype train rolls some big money into their bank accounts. It gives them a great big dose of the the “surely we must be doing something right” kool-aid and no matter how much the community cries out, they’ll only make enough minor changes to make you say “well they’re slowly changing things”. Trust me, activision-bungie (because they will never truly be the small revolutionary Bungie studio again) proved what has been happening with EA, 2K, and other soul-sucking publishers for a while can happen to even the best devs if your game is bait for their giant dollar machine that cuts down fern gulley and releases the evil Smog monster of Lost upon the world of innocent game developers, converting them into the borg. Sorry, my nerd just got out of control.
Idk… I don’t like Blizzard, They seem to be way too focused on marketing. Like how they treated Battleborn when it was about to release.
And I don’t like that there are no mods on their forum who actually care. ;p
