I actually didn’t know this. Thanks for the tip!
Everyone should be moving as a full team on Face Off as often at possible. At most, split 2-3 at neighboring Varelsi spawns. Unfortunately this mode is not well suited to solo queuing.
I don’t agree with that though. The more you split up, the more your team can level individually, the faster you outlevel the enemy team.
Getting an assist results in a +35% increase in overall team exp compared to solo kills. It’s always in your teams best interest to have every kill be with an assist
I always hit level 5 before the first boss, and we usually have two people at 10 and the rest at 9 by the second. Meanwhile the team that has tried to move around individually is less than half our level because they can’t kill quick enough and they get crushed as soon as they meet us.
Also, if everyone has a wrench and shard gen, you have a huge shard pool to keep resummoning the Varelsi and killing them almost instantly, with everyone tagging to get the xp. You really don’t get more xp killing them alone.
#SupportForSupport
There are a lot of good points made on this thread. But I believe that the only support that has trouble getting EXP would be Reyna. Kleese is a beast at wave clear and if he’s played right he will probably have more kills than assists anyway. Alani should have the most minion kills in a game so she’s fine there. Ambra doesn’t need to even be in the battlefield to contribute to an assist, just her sunspots. I can’t tell you how many assists I’ve gotten with her when I was just collecting shards. Miko can get an assist for almost every kill on his team. You just need to take Regenerative Aura over Heal Thyself at level two and Pandemic at level five.
Except, Reyna should probably be shooting whenever there is anything to shoot at. And she has a ton of killing power too, not just support skills, compared to someone like Miko who lacks the most in combat compared to other supports. (Which is a given, of course, since he’s got the best heals)
If supports play their cards right, they shouldn’t be getting outleveled by their team. I’ve never felt I’ve struggled with levels because of my characters role.
Honestly i feel it’s a supports job to really carry the team thru the match, I’m fine getting less exp as long as my teammates are taking advantage of the setups I’m giving. As for wave clearing I have no problem either. I usually just load a clip unto the minions, find if someone needs help, then continue. Also I never had a problem keeping up with scoring as a support. Sometimes I may even come out on top with scores. I do find miko the most challenging tho because his heal is a constant beam and not an insta heal/shield like alani or Rey Rey but probably does have an easy tag with his spore throw if you’re willing to give up the slow/stun for about 12 secs. @Vicks_toire thanks for confirming the tag, I always wondered about this. There’s so much craziness sometimes that I would place tag them, get the assist, then wonder “wait did I even hit him” lol.
Good point. I don’t have much experience with Reyna but that seems like a reliable way to get EXP. I guess I just need to “git gud” with her.
Also:
This is ironic considering she/they is/are the only one with the combat tag.
The tags just below the characters role in the command menu. Select Miko in the command menu in the information page, just under Eldrid Supporter it says combat, healer, and easy. Miko is the only character with the combat tag.
I’m gonna second the shard generator.
miko isn’t going to kill fast. Shards get you to level up, then you can farm varelsi more effectively with your team.
When I was playing Miko, under duress essentially since I hate Miko, I would just toss my spore at the minion wave to tag it before the waveclearers mopped it up.
Between tagging every minion, getting heaps of assists for healing and building in between it’s not that hard to stay on level.
Really? Does it only work as long as they’re still highlighted or for however many seconds after? Eitherway, an infinitely ranged method of assist gathering that isn’t on cooldown and is hitscan sounds amazing, especially for Right Behind You
Alani? Most minions on your team? Ambra is the minion killing maniac, or at least someone who’s just a wave clear
Yeah, Alani has amazing wave clear potential. The mutation at level four helps with that immensely and most Alani players focus waves of minions just to get Osmosis stacks and end up with the most minion kills. Whenever I play with a skilled Alani on my team she usually has the most damage dealt at the end of the game.
Huh, I usually find that her aoe damage is too meh now, especially compared to someone like Ernest, Orendi, or again the queen of gravity
Exactly, I myself dislike Miko the most as well
