Take out team activation pads... they're broken and annoying

It’s bad enough the game is plagued with leavers, but then the game punishes those who stay by not having a fighting chance or just straight up stopping their progress.

We needed 4 players to jump the wall, 3 to activate the jump and 1 person to go. We only had 3 so we had to quit. All three of us tried our best to sprint or skill ability dash into the jump pad but it wasn’t possible.

I’m sure this is a glitch but no matter how you look at it, these pads are annoying. Especially when they require the entire team. Make it require only half the team to start or take them out please.

It’s busted in more ways that that, did it this morning, team standing where we should but it would only let one of us jump.

I think they did that on purpose. Pretty sure the party is supposed to split up for a minute with one or two people being the hero(es) to open the gate while the others defend. Unless you had 5 you mean and still only one could jump.

The OP’s issue sounds like an actual a bug though.

Yeah you’re supposed to at least get 1 person up there. I’ve seen the activation pads only require 2 people with 1 jumper but somehow the game lost count of how many people left…

Can’t be, IMHO, each time I’ve done that we teamed at the top, this time there were so many minions up there just one of us couldn’t do it. I’m really good at Thorn and only cleared 80% up there.

Two is supposed to go up there

If you have issues, try swapping out who goes up to see who can handle it best.

Tho the op’s comment about there being 3 pads and 3 people sounds like it loaded the area and someone bailed right then, so it had 3 pads when the area loaded.

I thought after how awkward Void co-op was in open beta, they would’ve changed this.

Hey Gearbox, why would the pad need to turn itself off again anyway? With enemies spawning at the bottom, people will have to decide who stays to protect Wolf. Just having mobs spawn down below is enough to force a team to split.
You can keep things almost the same as they are by just having the pad stay on once activated - will be a whole lot less hassle when dealing with new players and AFKs, and the problem of 5-player scaling causing the difficulty of what’s up top to require sometimes more than even 2 people.

Actually we started off the match with 3 people. They all left while loading. Not sure how or why it happened but this needs to be fixed. Literally can’t do anything but quit.

I ran into this last night - the number of activation pads spawned seems to be based on the starting number of players, not the current number of players.

Hahaha oh wow. Really? I don’t know whether to laugh or cry how broken the story missions are. Glad I did them solo.

I agree 100% with the OP. There is no upside to this mechanic and plenty of downside.
