Take-Two CEO Explains How Disappointing Games like Battleborn and Evolve Don't Represent 2K's Quality

I know I already posted here, but it’s also worth noting that “2k’s quality” is non existant without Gearbox and Turtle Beach. The only reason 2k has any games that are worth playing is because of the developers who they constantly bully.

I have no problem with his skills, and like I said, his hook can reach much farther than fetch, meaning doom for the target of any prepared team. Now he just needs a team to back him up but he can still lead in damage. Sound like anyone’s role on lore?

I think regardless of the game, Overwatch or Battleborn, there are always characters who shine over the rest. Benedict, Galilea, Ambra, Ernest etc. Those kinds of characters would most likely become the meta. But because of the way Battleborn plays, choosing other characters wouldn’t be as detrimental to the team, but still. If a competitive scene existed in Battleborn, there would most likely be a meta similar to Overwatch.

Just the other day there was a guy on voice chat who hated on another guy for choosing Widowmaker before him, and that was on quick play. We lost obviously. Widowmaker on Hollywood attack. I’m not sure what to think about that.

Ghalts hook is so much better than fetch in what it does. Fetch is for harassment and making sure there is no runner as it is harder to land than hook and slower (only with got em is it good for disruption)

Hook is for disruption and controlling as it is easy to land and has far distance, and can actually have up to 500 damage with the right helix options, giving it superior utility

I’ve avoided posting here because I feel like this thread is a bit toxic, with a bunch of people posting speculations and things they don’t really know anything about.

One thing I WILL say about 2K: between the WWE games and the things I’ve heard about Mafia III (which I just bought but haven’t played yet), Qualiity Assurance doesn’t seem to be their strong suit.

It seems they’re too worried about “scores” and not actual player feedback, a bunch of random criticisms on the internet don’t reflect the quality of a game nor the customer satisfaction. I may not be a marketing genius or a game developer/publisher myself, but I think their priorities are wrong and that wont help them to sell games in future, at least not new titles, but who needs to sell new titles anyway when the big developers/publishers rehash the same ■■■■ every year with better sales despite less quality… Seriously GBX, drop these hacks already before you end up being dragged down with them into the mainstream abyss…

It isn’t quite that simple, unfortunately.

I know, I oversimplified it a bit… lot… :frowning:

There have been rumours that Gearbox are going to become a publishing company as well, like Bethesda, but unfortunately 2K would still have the rights to Borderlands and Battleborn. Which sucks.

Borderlands at least 2k did a good job with, well 2 anyway, I could accept that, but if they keep the rights to BB I don’t see it going much further as they seem to lack the passion that GBX put into their games. I know I give GBX a hard time out of frustration, but they’re still trying with this game and at least that’s something, something that can’t be said of 2k…

The problem of Battleborn is precisely 2k. These incapable people did not do their promotion work around Battleborn. When you see how Blizzard managed to crush Battleborn with their pathetic and pale copy of Battleborn that is overwatch …
2k had already sabotaged Borderlands TPS, there is Battlepborn that he did not promote enough. So they recognize their mistakes instead of telling anything.

Ohh that sad moment that even your daddy calls you a loser, poor gearbox

It’s not exactly fair to compare tf2.0 and battleborn

I think that is kinda the point

First, I have had free opportunities to play OW. Meaning they got it into the hands of players.

Second, I have seen and heard many comparisons between the two from day one. Including numerous videos on YouTube that scream Do Not Compare and then proceed to directly compare the two games for the rest of the video.

Third, Battleborn was marketed as a “team Shooter”. go back and watch the launch trailers again. There is no mention of strategy or moba elements or anything like that.

Combining these elements cause confusion among potential customers about what battleborn actually is. I’ve heard from a newer player that he thought it was a TF2 clone just like OW. Until he actually played battleborn he had no idea that it had anything that OW or TF2 didn’t have.

That is a solid point, but they were just saying overwatch was a pathetic copy of battleborn. He appears to not understand overwatch very much at all, which would be the opposite of the problem you speak of

I took a break from the game…

Hopped on to check things out…

Things are not going well :disappointed:

Not well at all. There is supposed to be a big update announced this battleplan, but unless it’s got some major cards up its sleeve I am doubtful we aren’t passed the point of saving this game. I’m currently of the mind that at least it was fun while it lasted so I’m content with whatever happens now

My track record sucks…

Brink

Crysis

Evolve

Star wars battlefront

Battleborn…

Yea, I hope I never develop a gambling addiction.
