I will add that I really really sidnt like how the cop had his knee on Floyd’s neck like that . I’m a purple belt in jiu jitsu and have been training for years and I can tell you neck cranks are **** moves, never mind driving your knee down on someone’s neck like that

That being said … Floyd is 6’5" and cops probably have hair trigger nerves dealing with bad people day in and day out. Act accordingly based on those factors. If Floyd really had meth in him doesnt meth make people act menacing and very aggressive? Like some even pull their own guts out etc?

black anarcho-commie here. I can honestly welcome some of these numbers and uncomfortable statistics being spewed onto this thread. They speak to violence among ECONOMICALLY oppressed. Black on black crime is sky high? Well what else do you expect of historically disenfranchised people, barred from the accrual of wealth, redlined out of home-ownership, etc?

Nobody cares when cops beat up white people? Let’s start! BLM is valid and deserving of most attention right now, but in the future - lets focus on ALL misconduct - (bet most complaints come from low-income). Lets start bolstering all our civil liberties when in comes to the criminal justice system.

I’ve also seen some talk of diversity initiatives. BE CAREFUL. That is a neoliberal trap. Your company BOD can look like an absolute bow of crayons but It doesnt mean theyll pay you anymore, it doesnt mean they wont ship your job overseas, doesnt mean theyll keep you hole during a pandemic/depression. Prioritize executives and politicians that prioritize the people. the WORKING people, the middle class. Im sure thats where most of us on this forum fall. Ive got more in common with a white guy who does HVAC than I do with Kanye.

The thing that mainly has me sweating right now is how infectious militarism and hero worship is right now. If you saw what was happening to these protesters (and yes even rioters) but it was taking place in Honk Kong, there’d be alot more anarchists on here today! not to say we should’t at some point try to maintain the peace, but understand you may be the one getting tear-gassed one day. If you still don’t care because these people dont “look like you”, please understand they are VERY similar to you. You both have less than 1000 in savings, You both will likely never be able to retire. You both live paycheck to paycheck. You both are crushed by debt and taxes. Only difference is they have you looking down your nose at them.

Yeah i suppose i could go poke my head in there for a bit. If it makes it a bit more digestible - the “Anarcho” prefix makes it (Lowercase “C’” communism). Basically I advocate for personal liberty over state intervention, and collectivist organization of society through contribution over accrued capital

Be careful, I can almost see the “I’m not a treeist, but…”-types practicing their lines like:

  • in the rainforest more plants are killed by other plants than by lumberjacks.
  • the number of unarmed trees felled by lumberjacks isn’t even statistically significant.
  • better concentrate on intra-tree violence.
  • maybe the lumberjacks were on a hair-trigger because they had to face bad trees all day.
  • the tree was aggressive to the lumberjacks.
  • maybe the tree was on drugs and the lumberjacks just had to put the axe to it.
  • what that lumberjack did was wrong, but it was a bad tree, so don’t protest.
  • you can’t call me a treeist, I have memes to ‘prove’ my opinion.

You definitely have freedom of speech there, I don’t think you understand the term at all. I’m definitely glad in some European countries Fox is pooled in with the cartoon channels in cable lineups.

As a citizen you can say whatever you want. As a company that is supposed to deliver fact based news you’re not allowed to lie.

Has nothing to do with freedom of speech. Also, in the U.S., you’re only allowed full free speech when it’s directed towards the government. Doesn’t cover other people, companies and so on.

They have a freedom of exprrssion. Charter. The Charter also permits the government to enforce “reasonable” limits. Hate speech , obscenity, and defamation are common categories of restricted speech in Canada .

So i personally think Canada does a better job than the usa period.

Except when it comes to comedy stuff said in general.

Fines for comedian lite jokes too things like that. Its an ongoing issue. Things we can joke on stage here u cant there. Anything deemable offensive can land you a fine.

Thats all i mean. The atmosphere in Canada is 1000% better than the usa in every other area.

Problem with all lives matter is it seems to have been created to dilute black lives matter.

If you’re white,
are you afraid for your life when you get pulled over by a cop?
do you constantly get pulled over by cops for “swerving” or “forgot to signal”, even though you know you weren’t and didn’t?
do you encounter people who, when they see you, quickly walk to the other side of the street or turn around entirely?

Lots of situations that I know a lot of my black friends encounter ALL the time.

In the past 11 years I’ve been pulled over 5 times. Once for speeding, 4 times in a two week period for “riding with black driver”. It’s obvious and sickening.

There is no need for an all lives matter.
