I’m surprised that there’s not much love here for the Fatale. Yes, I agree that the Fridgia is a great weapon for going cryo (bladed if you are also going melee). However, I never liked Dahl’s burst-fire when aiming, so when I got a Cutting-Edge Fatale, I was as happy as a skag in slag.
Other than the burst-fire mode, the Fatale also has a significant critical damage bonus, which fits in with my playstyle better than the “pray 'n spray” feel of the Fridgia.
I did try out the Taser, and even though I do like the way it handles over the Fridgia, the Fridgia still seems to beat it on chance to freeze. However, the Fatale’s crit bonus makes its damage potential greater than the Taser.
i am not using the fridgia for gun damage. i shoot like 3-5 bullets at things and they freeze then i either robo-punch/backhand,bloodrush(tho the excalibastard is better for bloodrush). the lack of recoil means i rarely have to ADS. that allows me to “no-scope” things across battlefields, then bloodrush or jog my lazybutt over and cloberknock the mob! can’t do that as well with other cryo guns.
edit: Nisha likes the fatale but mine not so much because it is elemental. Celestial Jack likes the fatale as well because he has no melee over ride and i am not the biggest fan of his wrist laser, but i usually fall back to fridgia and use the digi-Jacks novas to blast em to chunks and make timmy vomit in his mouth.
