Yes, there are ways, at least on ps. On xbox that’s even more unnerving, I think.
But I don’t get why there’s no officially approved way of doing so. It would make me play way more because I have a crapton of build ideas that will never be put into play because of the hurdles put in my way. Even after finishing the campaign for the umpfteenth time …

I am a PS4 user. I’m sure it can’t be more difficult on an xbox. I’m assuming the xbox has the ability to transfer a save to usb or a cloud?

But that’s not really playing the game. Just give me a button, make me pay for it and let me play the game after 5 seconds of hassle-free duping characters, items, …
Today I was sparked by a build @NotQuag played on stream. I was all hyped up until I remembered I had to either level up another FL4K or change my existing one.
At least give us loadouts then.

I know exactly how you feel… I did this a lot in bl3. Broken hearts event was a lot of uploading and downloading the save profile.
Have an other example from an other game.
Yugioh… For a win you get about 700-1000 points (1500-1900 if you beat the enemy for the first time). However loosing gives you 500-1000 points. So I start a match and give up to get less points in waaaay less time. This points can be used to buy cards and you need about 60-80k until you have nearly everything out of one pack. There are about 30 diffrent packs? If the game would give me a good reward for winning I would not take the easy route…
Haven’t played borderlands since designers cut btw and I’m not going to play it. The loading times are crap on ps4… 10sec fight, 5 sec loot check and 70sec loading screen. I know better ways to waste time.
